Diner Reviews
  • "This place has been in this location for many years and has one of the more attractive views of lake Union. Food has consistenly been very good and the service is by far the best of any of the other Steak houses in town"

  • "We found the taste of the food excellent. The staff quite slow. The ambience exceptional along with the stunning view. All was for naught when my spouse exploded from both ends 3 hours after our meal of steak, and 2 sides of "fresh" oysters. Same experience we had at Chandler's Crab House. Losing our faith in Schwartz Bros. cuisine!"

  • "Daniel's Lake Union restaurant is my favorite of their restaurants. The location as well as the management are so special and offer me and my guests the kind of treatment one would expect at the very best of private clubs or old school 5 star restaurants in any major metro city. The food is wonderful, the drinks generous and the staff from the Valet to Manager are the best in town. "

  • "Based on multiple recommendations, we dined at Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union during our last night in Seattle. We were in the neighborhood anyway for an early evening boat cruise and this looked the best among the local options. Pre-meal drink at bar was great. Service was impeccable. Very attentive and checked on the table at just the right times. Overall, food was very good. My wife ordered scallops and I had the filet Oscar. Both prepared perfectly. Maybe a Midwestern taste, but I prefer a little more char/salty taste to the stake, but it was still excellent. Lobster mash was a fun side dish, a little light on the lobster. We had gourmet, chocolate covered strawberries to end and they were scrumptious."

  • "Daniel's is one of our very very very favorite restaurants! The service is spectacular! ...the food is spectacular !... the view is spectacular ! ! ! We Love Daniel's Roger and Virginia Gabelein!"

  • "The service and staff were excellent. The view was gorgeous. The food was good, but it is WAY, WAY overpriced! We easily could have gone to another lesser name restaurant and had a meal that was just as good (if not better) for half the cost. I'm glad we went to dinner there at least once, but we won't be going again."

  • "We visit Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union twice a year. It is absolutely a big treat for us to recharge our batteries, so to speak with a nice bar for a couple of pre-dinner drinks, WONDERFUL food, very special servers who are attentive without being intrusive. We just love this restaurant and highly recommend it to everyone we know."

  • "We had a great experience at Daniel's Broiler. The steaks were cooked to perfection (order the porterhouse - it was like butter!). Our waiter was phenomenal and we had a fabulous time. What more could you ask for?"

  • "Making reservations was a breeze. Daniel's took note of my request for a nonalcoholic toast. My brother, whom doesn't drink alcohol, was surprised and touched. Our server Darrin was attentive and knowledgable. His expertise in the menu added another level of enjoyment and confidence in ordering. The food was amazing! This was my second visit and it solidified Daniels as my favorite "steak house" in Seattle. My brother, he had never been, was impressed and will be bringing his fiancee' in for her birthday. Wonderful!"

  • "I have experienced all the best steak houses in the area several times. The value, the food, the quality, the atmosphere and mostly the STEAK. It is cooked to perfection and it made my Texas heart happy. This is a superior dining experience."

  • "Kelly our server was awesome, he took really good care of my girlfriend and I, made great recommendations and was really friendly while being really professional. The whole experience was great."

  • "My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. The waiter, George, was very classy and knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone who came to our table was extremely professional yet warm enough to make you feel comfortable. and then there is the food.... amazing. we couldn't stop talking about our steak throughout the entire meal. I had the ribeye which was divine and my husband, who doesn't normally like steak, had the filet. we both were so impressed with the entire meal, it was simply unforgettable. George brought us a free dessert for my birthday, the drinks and wine were excellent and the whole experience was wonderful! we will definitely be coming back!"

  • "I have dined at Daniel's Broiler on many occasions, and have yet to have a negative experience. The staff is always extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. The food is always superb. Certainly not a cost-effective place to eat, but at least you get what you pay for, which is more than can be said for other places."

  • "Everything was great but they advertise a 30oz bone in rib eye for a special at $75. Take the bond out and its more like 15oz. Felt alittle taken."

  • "I have to say I came in a little biased to Ruth's Chris steakhouse originally. But the steaks were amazingly tender and cooked to perfection with a nice rich mesquite flavor. The choice in side dishes all would pair well with my steak choice and made for a hard decision (poor waitress came to the table 4 times before I could decide). The service was impeccable and very friendly. I will most definitely be going again. Sorry Ruth's Chris"

  • "Visiting Seattle and selected Daniel's Broiler Lake Union for a Birthday celebration based on good reviews in OpenTable and other internet sources. Made reservation via OpenTable and seated after a few minutes wait at dockside window table. Great views as the sun set. Restaurant was busy but definitely not noisy. Service was prompt and attentive. All requests met and staff did not feel intrusive at any stage. Food quality and quantity at and above expectations. Separate prawn and tuna appetizers were well prepared and flavorful. Steaks for main were cooked to preference and tasty. Overall great dining experience and would recommend to friends / colleagues for special occasion or business functions."

  • "Totally worth the trip, great for a long leisurely dinner. A little pricier than it should be, but good food and food service. Very helpful and accomodating with a flower delivery I had scheduled, and they seated us 45 minutes early, since we showed up early."

  • "Took some business associates there and all had a great time. Food was great all the way around but normally I say their steak is excellent. This time it was just good. The other 3 people enjoyed everything they had an want to come back next time in town. Wine selection is incredible."

  • "The waiter up sold lobster to a group of Chinese clients. How could I say no. So I bought it. I had to. It made me mad since he should have asked me, the host of this dinner, in private. I will not take customers there again"

  • "I loved my meal but also enjoyed the expert waiting of my table. The hostess who sat was just so pretty and informative. Great overall experience."

  • "My family lives a bit far away to make this a place that we would go more than 4-5 times per year. When we do make thee trip, Daniels never disappoints! Our service was impeccable, the people are friendly and of course the food, oh my goodness ,the food!!! We've been there probably around 20 times now and are at the point that we don't need menu's. 14 Oz. Rib Eye is just amazing! For me to say amazing is not doing in justice, best steak I have ever had."

  • "I took an important business associate to Daniels for dinner. During the course of dinner, the lights above our table started flickering on and off as soon as we sat down (which was distracting in a room with low lights). We brought this to the attention of several employees including our waiter. For the first half of dinner, they said there was nothing they could do. When we were just starting our main course, they brought a ladder, put it next to our table, climbed it and tried to fix the light. All the while we had to cover our food due to stuff falling from the ceiling. We were never visited by a manager and no one apologized. Needless to say, when I take an important customer to my "go to" restaurant, I expect more"

  • "I am fortunate enough. to eat at the best restaurants up and down the west coast. Their filets are simply the best, ahead of the Met, Ruth's Chris, Morton's , Carnevino at the Palazzo, CraftSteak at the MGM, Delmonico at the Venetian and Portland City Grill. Of the many times I've eaten there the food is consistently brilliant, along with the service. However, on this last visit the service was sub par for the first time. Our server didn't check on us much. Several times we needed something and had to wait. Their track record is so solid that this won't effect me returning often."

  • "Daniel's Broiler is touted as one of THE stake houses in Seattle but sadly falls short. The ambiance is great, the views are great, and that staff is top shelf. The steak however was nothing spectacular. My regular neighborhood pub cooks a steak far better and at a good value. With the price my party paid for our meals I would expect a finer product than what Daniel's puts on the table. There are so many great places to eat in Seattle that it is a waist of your appetite to eat at Daniel's instead of one of the many fine establishments. Daniel's is the Red Lobster or Olive Garden of steak houses. I was vastly disappointed."

  • "Yes - the food is outstanding. One of my favorite places on earth to eat. But, don't forget to stop in at the bar lounge when Casey is playing at the piano. He's phenomenal. Ask him to play your favorite jazz, rock, pop - you name it. Then, tell him you'd like it done his way - not necessarily the way it was done originally. He is so creative and worth having your appetizers in the lounge and then go for dinner. You'll still be able to hear Casey in the background. Ask to sit closer or further from the bar according to your tastes. He's the added spice to Daniel's Broiler that makes it a GREAT evening out."

  • "We had a valentines day dinner at Daniels. We splurged for the occasion and while the food was very good, I would not repeat the experience. Total cost for two was $230.00. Now that's totally okay for those who are in an income bracket that matches, but for a special occasion for us middle class people, I'll pass thanks. It's not that the food wasn't good, or the service, I just can't justify in my mind the cost. One thing I did note, we were seated at a table that was closest to the kitchen area and looking into the bright kitchen took away the ambiance of the darkened dinning room. Also, they had an open access hole in the ceiling that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the employee's were wonderful, no complaints there."

  • "I wanted to take one of my best employees out for a nice dinner to show my appreciation for his hard work and dedication. Daniel's Broiler was the perfect choice. We enjoyed a relaxing evening of conversation, the best steaks in town, and scotch. The service was respectful of our desire for quiet conversation while still making sure that we were well taken care of. Daniel's is a great option for both business or personal dining. Either way your guests will feel special."

  • "I enjoy this restaurant for many reasons: The view of Lake Union Marina, the great service, and the wonderful steaks, but I keep coming back because the service is consistently the highest quality. The bar staff remembers you. Everyone in the restaurant from the wait staff to the valet staff works to happily meet your needs."

  • "Great service. Tuna appetizer was way too cold and over cooked - tuna should have been served more towards room temperature. Oyster Rockefeller was undercooked. Filet mignon was very good along with the special crab topping."

  • "My wife and I had dinner here for our 5 year anniversary. It was a fantastic experience all around. The food was great, the staff were the epitome of professional and friendly. Every new person we talked to took the opportunity to wish us a happy anniversary from the hostess, to the server, to the manager. Would happily come here again!"

  • "Over-rated. Your paying for the experience. The food was good but for the price (at least $50 for steak w/ potatos) i rather go to black angus or the keg where you will get more food for half the price."
