Unless you want to be slightly overstuffed, don't get the chef tasting menu. And if you must get the chef tasting menu, skip the wine pair. It would be too much to drink. One of the best part of our dining experience was the low noise level. This is a place where marriages are arranged, mended and broken....."

  • "This is an excellent restaurant for that special occasion. Very fancy, with multiple waiters serving you all the time. Food was different than most menus. Sizes are small, but multiple dishes come out. Expensive at $125.00 per person, but for that special person it is worth it. Waiters called us by name all night. We were here for our 25th wedding anniversary and during desert the brought out a special dish with happy 25th written on it."

  • "When you hear "thee star Michelin" you may think of a stuffy, proper, pretentious reataurant; Daniel is anything but. From our first steps inside, we were shocked at the warm, friendly nature of every employee who interacted with us. Low lights, beautiful chandeliers, ancient 20's-era hotel feel. We had been eyeing Daniel to celebrate our wedding for months, and it met our high expectations. The tasting was perfect -- they even let us each enjoy a different menu -- and our wine steward Aaron made excellent suggestions. There were a bevy of surprises: amusés, a printed menu, wine labels, petit fours, and champagne. Our favorite dishes were the seafood salad and its octopus, the trio of veal, the halibut, and the Dover sole. Astonishing."

They added a nice touch by giving you a souvenir menu at the end of the night...they must know most foodies like this. The only complaint I have is that the lighting was a little too low and the presentation of the food was kinda plain. All around a very nice place to eat and I would definitely recommend it to anyone."

  • "To celebrate my birthday, we went to Daniel. It was one of the best meals we ever had. Rather than go though what we ordered, let me just say that the entire evening was superb! We had the 3 course dinner which came with several extras. Everything we ate was just terribly excellent! And the service we had just as superb as the food. Our anniversary is won't be here for 3 months. Remember the man who predicted the world would end? I think my wife and I have to celebrate The World Didn't End day. And Daniel, though a very expensive restaurant, would be a wonderful place to celebrate it. And if someone else predicts the same, the night before we are definitely going. I can't think of a better last meal before the world ends!"

  • "Daniel has great attention to detail in the presentation and flavors of the food and wine selections. It's an old world experience, the kind of place that makes you stick to the rules and keep your jacket on even if its 90 degrees out. It was very quiet by the time we got there for the 9pm sitting, I personally prefer a bit more energy and less formality but this was still a great experience overall. Come hungry, there are so many little extra courses we were bursting at the seems by the time we left!"

  • "Bouloud's Formal French dining cuisine and room are refined, lovely and delicious in every possible way. Price is "you get what you pay for" which is a special moment not a daily event. Whether you are known or new, waiters are friendly without being overbearing. Longevity is the result of a fine quality of cuisine and attention to detail from the flowers on the table to the last forkful of dessert. Both the food and wine lists are extensive and one's largest challenge would to to choose which delectable morsels one would wish to indulge in for this particular moment. A fellow foodie and I thoroughly enjoyed. My choice was the result of two previous meals, one lunch and one dinner, some years before, which were certainly rewarded!"

My significant other is vegetarian and they had a completely separate and developed vegetarian menu for him. We did the 3 course but really there are so many small surprises you feel like it is a 6 course meal. I was so happy with the choice we made to eat there while we were on vacation."

  • "Everything, from the service, food and atmosphere was great. My wife asked for a Cosmo, on the rocks, they were able to form an ice ball from that mixture. Each dish was photo worthy, but more importantly the taste just danced on my tongue. I had the grilled halibut, which could be dry, but was perfectly cooked. I was very impressed with the whole experience."

  • "My husband and I dined here during our baby moon to NYC. We were recommended this restaurant over all the other 3 star Michelin restaurants by friends and family in NYC. They did not lead us astray. We were welcomed with attentive and personable service from the moment we walked in. They definitely know how to make each patron feel special. We arrived with the intention of doing the tasting, but our waiter recommended the pre-fixe. We are so glad we chose the pre-fix! We had the freedom to order whatever we wanted and got an extra appetizer to share. I recommend this if you want to try extra food, but the normal 3-course is definitely more than enough food. The food was out of this world."

  • "My wife and I love good food but our options and budget are usually limited. For our anniversary, we splurged on a really special dinner. I can't compare Daniel to any other Michelin Star restaurants because I've never been to one, but I can say that it met or exceeded our expectations in terms of food, service, and atmosphere. Though the price tag was substantial, we felt that it was completely worth it. We had a 6:00 reservation; we both ordered the tasting menu, so between the seven courses on the menu, the two extra amuse courses, and the two extra mini dessert bites, the dinner was our evening's activity and we loved every minute of it. The progression included seafood, beef, pasta, fruit, and chocolate. They were all outstanding."

Highly recommend the CRISPY SANTA BARBARA SPOT PRAWNS and DUO OF BEEF. Judging by various reviews their BLACK SEA BASS is probably the best entree; to their credit our server did recommend it. Oh well, there's always next time."

  • "We dined at Daniel this past Tuesday. We all had the 3 course pre-fixed. For the first course, the duck terrine, the hamachi and the mushroom salad were outstanding. We had the sea bass and the duo tasting of beef-Daniel's signature dishes, were superb in every way. With the amuse-bouche, the petits fours, it's more like a 6 course tasting menu for $125 per person! It's not inexpensive, but for a 3 star Michelin restaurant, it's almost a bargain! Our waiter even brought us a basket of madeleine cookies, still warm from the oven after the petits fours! We'll definitely visit this restaurant next time we're in NYC. Bravo, Monsieur Boulad!"

The experience was as near to perfect as I can imagine, from exquisite good beautifully presented to service that was just exactly right in terms of solicitousness. I especially liked the leisurely pace. Unlike some top NYC eateries (I'm looking at you, Le Bernardin), Daniel conveyed no sense of urgency, no plain desire to move is along to make space for the next seating."
