This was my second visit and they did not disappoint. We ordered off of the early menu with wine pairings (it is a good deal). The appetizer I ordered was not a favorite, but I was not going to complain. They noticed and insisted that we try something else. Plan B was great (they even heated up the advertised cold soup for my friend). The rest of the dinner was magnificent (my friend said it was the best meal she'd ever had). Desert was above and beyond. The wines were great. The synchronized presentation of each course was impressive. After dinner the waiter insisted that we visit the kitchen and have a picture taken. We were not disappointed. We have been to several excellent restaurants- Alinea, Charlie Trotters in Chicago. Spago in Beverly Hills. Chez Pannisse in Berkley. We have been to several celebrity chef places, Wolfgang Pucks, Tom Collichi, Mario Battalt et al. By far our two best dining experiences have been Spago in Beverly Hills and Daniel in NYC. At Daniel, the food was creative and delicious, beautifully presented. I would describe the service as either impeccable or perfect as it was both. We had the 6 course tasting menu and each course was a treat. Pacing was just right, little bit pricey but well worth it. I wanna go back. We had the pre- fix menu and I wondered if my husband would leave satiated. No worries. From the warm bread served individually between courses, the delicate aperitif, the perfect wine, and each amazing course that was served- well everything was divine.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
We called 30 days ahead to get our reservation at 9 in the morning.
