  • "I visited Dally in the Alley for the first time last week and was overall quite impressed. This is a small restaurant, so reservations are a necessity - but it is a very comfortable setting. The beer selection was good, with an interesting and wide range of styles, and the wine selection was also fairly good. The menu was small, but with enough options to suit most diners. I had the "Sweet Tea Chicken," which was moist and full of flavor. It was served on a mixture of black eyed peas, corn and with a little kale, and all of the flavors really worked together. I also tried my daughter's "Venison Strudel," which was also very good and not gamey at all. The service was fair, although not great, but I will definitely return."

  • "Imaginative menu with interesting and tasty options. We were there for lunch. Our table had the fried green tomato BLT, turkey club, and beet patty (not a typo - was made with spiral cut beets). No one was disappointed with their choice. The food prep area is visible from the dining room - clearly the kitchen staff likes the music loud - we asked our waitperson to turn it down in the dining room and they did so without being too grumpy about it."

  • "Always have a great experience here. The food and service are excellent. Love that they source from local farms and change the menu seasonally. Even our teenagers love it. We aren't vegetarians but appreciate that there's always a meatless option on the menu. We really miss the vegetarian strudel and hope they bring it back!"

  • "I was reluctant to order roasted chicken (boring, dry, etc. ), but this bone-in quarter was very moist on the inside, crisp on the outside, very good with potatoes described as "salad", I say, roasted, and a garnish of kale. My friend's ribeye steak was excellent. juicy and flavorful with frites, not French-fry style but home fries. A rich savory cheesecake starter was plenty to share, also very good. No room for dessert. The wine list is interesting, unusual vineyards and many by the glass."

  • "At the recommendation of my brother, who stumbled upon Dally in the Alley a few weeks ago, our group of six decided to give them a try while vacationing in the area. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. The service was great. Chris was very attentive and offered suggestions when needed. The food, of course, was the highlight. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. We had the pasta with scallops, fried green tomatoes, quinoa cakes (awesome), fish of the day (wahoo) and the Jamaican jerk chicken (which was spicier than anticipated for the guest). I would highly recommend."

  • "Dally was recommended to us by friends; we figured we had nothing to lose but the 30 minute drive to Deland from New Smyrna Beach. Don't miss the savory cheesecake appetizer, it was awesome. We had the duck, the pork chop and the coq au vin, all were delicious. We tried three desserts, the chocolate cake with mint whipped cream, the friand, which was an almond blueberry muffin and the featured cupcake; chocolate cake with a peanut butter frosting . The star was the friend...moist and almondy. Yum. The chocolate cake was so-so; the cupcake was dry and the frosting was gummy. We will go again; I hope they have the quail on the menu. Excellent service, nice wine list and not over the top price wise."

  • "Dally in the Alley is now one of my favorite restaurants in DeLand. The chef uses locally grown produce and has a menu that offers a an excellent selection for everyone, including a vegans. The service is excellent and the chef is attentive to her guests. The ambience is wonderful."

  • "Wonderful food prepared by an outstanding chef who comes by each table to check with her guests. Have eaten there twice and both times the food is wonderful. The location is in a quit side street in old downtown Deland, so it has a nice rustic setting. Can't miss meal at reasonable prices."

  • "We had just discovered this place via the Arts Festival. Had lunch and brought back friends a few days later for dinner. The food was very good, limited menu, but tasty and well presented. Excellent desserts and wines. Recommend a res at night. Opens for lunch then closes and reopens for dinner. BTW, seems like something always going in the Alley!"

  • "Use of local produce and seasonal items make this place very unique. The atmosphere is more of a trendy bar scene than a bistro in my opinion though. The salads were impressive and tasty. I thought the entree sizes were very small though. I had a mushroom polenta dish and was still hungry afterwards. I wish I had time to try their signature cupcake though. Service was very attentive and personal. I would like to go back to try their lunch options one day..."
