Diner Reviews
  • "This was my first time ever to the Dallas Fish Market and I wish I wasn't moving because it wouldn't have been my last. Everything about the place was great and I have 0 complaints. The waiter even gave my girlfriend a complimentary wine (this was due to not wanting to waste it because another table wanted to order something different), so for that he got an extra tip. The service was friendly and the food came out great. We had salad and sushi. Being a techie, I also enjoyed how the drink menu was on an iPad, very cool!"

  • "Nice combination of sushi and traditional seafood dinners; nice specialty cocktails. Fairly expensive, but in line with other middle of downtown restaurants."

  • "Made surprise anniversary dinner for wife. She was blown away by sushi. Just so happened to have surf and turf with scallops. Her favorite. I ordered flowers to have on table when arrived. They were there and beautiful. Manager came to table to ask of occasion. He then had caviar and sparkling wine to table. Class act from time we walked in until we left. Just awesome!!!"

  • "I was very disappointed in the service. I felt like the restaurant was not staffed adequately nor were they attentive to our needs. Food was just average for me...nothing fantastic...I was expecting more for the prive range."

  • "Overall it was an excellent dining experience! We enjoyed the ambience, the great table service and the nice touches of "on-the house" appetizers and after dinner sweets."

  • "We thought we would try this lovely spot again since it had been years. We felt so comfortable walking in. Love spot, still. We had a great waiter and I think it was Ian. All food was great, but I was not enamored with my swordfish....the plate was just too busy....sorry, will get another entree next time...all three of us thoroughly enjoyed out visit!!"

  • "The Fish Market looks like an undiscovered gem. At 7:30 on a Saturday night the place was barely 1/2 full. On the other hand, it is one of the better seafood restaurants in Dallas. Parking is by valet right outside the door ($7.00). Seated in seconds. Our waitress was very good, making several good suggestions, including one for the wine. We ate fish (natch!) and both dishes were quite good. Their wine list isn't shabby, either. There were several other nice touches, like complimentary glasses of sparkling wine before dinner, and a bowl of fresh cotton candy after dinner. We had to eat and go in a hurry to catch a show, and our waitress was exceptional about moving things along briskly. Really good service!"

  • "The air needs to be fixed. The appetizer of tempora shrimp was good. The rest of the meal was not."

  • "Stop by for lunch with Co Workers and was very impressed. Fresh seafood and great sushi. The green apple cotton candy at the end of the meal was a nice touch!"

  • "Our party of 5 arrived around 6pm for dinner and found the restaurant very warm. We asked if there was a problem with the air and were told that they had been having issues for last couple of days but repairs were made today and it should cool off soon. The temperature only got worse and by the time our food came it was extremely hot in the restaurant. We commented multiple times to the staff, and finally had to complain, and asked for some type of concession to compensate for our discomfort. Even suggested that they comp a drink or dessert. They did nothing to make us comfortable or feel better about our uncomfortable expensive meal. "

  • "We went to Dallas Fish Market on our 5th Anniversary and experienced amazing service from beginning to end. They started us with complimentary champagne and a deviled egg with caviar on the house. We had the Salmon Sashimi special which was so good we ordered another and thoroughly enjoyed the Temptation & Dragon Rolls. We're so excited to have found a reasonably priced and top grade sushi place here in Dallas. We just moved here from LA and this place reaffirms we made the right decision. We will be regulars for sure!"

  • "Now we know why. Could not understand the waiter. Didn't have the wine we ordered - recommended replacement was no good! Food was brought on top of other courses - I HATE THAT - SHOWS HOW STUPID THE WAITER IS!!!! Supposed to be a 4 star restaurant - maybe 1 at most - and high priced!!! Don't go there"

  • "My husband and I had a great date night here! Loved the sea bass and striped bass! "

  • "Always love love love DFM. This time however my dish was not the best. Ceasar was ok, but the Striped bass let me down. THe mussells inside the shell had disintigrated. The bass itself was a little done. Service was awesome as usual. We will go back but I won't order the striped bass again. My husband loved his sushi roll and the sea bass but stated it was a bit rich. Dessert was okay........."

  • "Went here for the first time for my 30th anniversary. The service was exceptional. I thought the food was good but I had halibut and I thought that the olive tapenade was a little strong for it."

  • "Everything felt nice from the beginning. Great Appetizers (Scottish Salmon Spectacular) surf and turf was a let down, they split the meal when we did not ask for that, the steak was over cooked and the surf was good (two scallops). I would go back."

  • "My fiance and I ate here during a quick trip to Dallas. The restaurant was across from our hotel. The service was WONDERFUL! The entire team was helpful, friendly, and fun. There were a lot of little things such as complementary sparkling wine & a small appetizer and the wine list on the iPad that made for nice touches. The dinner entrees (surf & turf with scallops and the truffled sea bass) were delicious and perfectly sized portions. However, dessert was a bit lacking...the lavender creme brulee was a little more herby than expected. The wine list was varied, but rather expensive. But it was a fun treat. I can't rave enough about the service, but it also wasn't crowded so we had the chance to have a little more interaction with the staff."

  • "My sister in law & I enjoyed a relaxed & outstanding dinner on 4/24/14. Great martini sat the bar before going to our table. We both ate seafood. It was well prepared & the service was excellent. "

  • "The second time was not a charm. Visited this restaurant for the second time in a week. Service was slow, food was only OK, .... Nice room, but left feeling that the meal was mediocre and overpriced. Will not be back for round 3. "

  • "The seafood here was amazing and very fresh. They had the beer and wine list on a iPad which they gave us, that I thought was pretty cool. We sat at the bar so we could watch the NCAA championship game. The host was very nice and the food was great, my only complaint was the bartender was kind of rude and her service wasn't great. On a $200 meal for 2 people, I would expect MUCH better. If we go back, hopefully we have a better, more attentive server."

  • "The birthday celebration was very enjoyable. Our server was on target appearing when needing but no intrusive. I would certainly recommend DFM as a special occasion restaurant."

  • "I celebrated my birthday in this place wanted to try it for a first time looked pretty good on website. Place itself looks nice and classy define try like the decor. Food quality was good rolls and hot dishes was delicious. The service in the place is horrible starting from greeting person to waiting staff. I waited 15 min for a glass of vine. I ordered 8 pieces of sushi mi n got them the last after 30 min. The place was surprisingly Dead on Saturday at 9:30 only 4 tables occupied and nobody at the bar. I don't think I would recommend it. Only maybe for long work lunch if you really have time to wait"

  • "The food and atmosphere at Dallas Fish Market is simply amazing. We waited at the wine bar till our reservation time and was very pleased with the wine available by the glass. Scallops and Sea Bass were amazing. Triple Cheese Mac and Cheese, Garlic Parm Fries were good. The pounded Ahi and crab fritter were awesome as well."

  • "Star 1 - Service. We included a special message (our 1 year anniversary) and we were greeted with a congratulations and a complimentary deviled egg, champagne, and cotton candy(?!) dessert! Our server was attentive and not pushy, just perfect! Star 2 - Atmosphere. Though the state of the chairs was quite alarming (worn corners and edges!), the lighting was nice and I was able to chat with my fiancé and not feel like I was shouting. Star 3 - Food. Honestly it was ok. I could have given it more, but the $55 lobster we ordered wasn't as good as lobster you get on a cruise (according to my fiancé). The garlic spinach and the lobster bisque were ok, but not spectacular. Overall, it was nice but we aren't itching to go back any time soon."

  • "Each of our party selected a seafood dinner, and each liked his choice. My selection of clams was a very pleasant surprise - unexpectedly tender and appealing visually. We all commented on how much we enjoyed our dinner, and would like to repeat the visit."

  • "Probably best sushi in Dallas! Great service, good atmosphere."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Not that great. I felt like it really could be amazing but the chef was adding too many strong flavors to items that didn't need them. Example, the sea bass comes drenched in cream sauce. Not necessary! All of the dishes I had were prepared this way. Even dessert...the lime cheesecake was overloaded with a sauce that didn't even taste like lime. Very disappointing."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "A co-worker and I tried this restaurant and we were both blown away by the modern-cool ambiance and delicious flavors. My cucumber/ginger cocktail was so refreshing after a long day and my sea bass was cooked perfectly. Add complimentary biscuits and deviled eggs to an already great experience to make it that much better!"

  • "The décor of the restaurant is beautiful and an ocean theme is used throughout. It is very contemporary and visually calming. The food was very good and well-presented. The restaurant's decor has mostly hard surfaces that do not absorb sound so the noise level was high and it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was very good but one thing bothered us. If one of us finished a course before the other, their plate was cleared instead of waiting to do that once we had both finished. It seemed like we were being rushed through dinner. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a few minor glitches."
