  • "Getting downtown can be a bit tricky with all the road construction. Once inside, several choices for dining rooms. Go for a small, quiet room, otherwise the bar noise makes it difficult to visit. Don't trust the sample menu on Opentable; it doesn't match with what restaurant currently is offering. Steaks were OK but nothing special. The best thing was the wine list - it was not overpriced. Large portions for the vegetable side dishes. Glad I went but won't be going back; there are better steak houses in Dallas."

  • "We had a party of 6, received mediocre service and at the end discovered an automatic 20% gratuity - if it was posted on the menu or any other place - I certainly did not see it, but it explains the service, The food was overpriced, but very good, I don't see myself ever going back, there are too many great places that have the service to match."

  • "I was very impressed with the look and feel of the Dallas Chophouse when we arrived for our lunch. However, the food left something to be desired. My salmon was severely undercooked to the point where I couldn't eat it, and my colleagues steak was chewy. Despite the nice ambiance, I was underwhelmed by the food. I probably will not revisit this place, as there are much better steakhouses in the area."

  • "kept making excuses for their shortcomings each time we went, but enough is enough. Way too expensive for what you get. (GEE, I MISS CHARLIE PALMER'S!!!) Rosemary was in and on everything without warning, from the butter to the baked garlic to the steak sauce to the vegetables. so if you don't like rosemary, just that one thing ruins even the best steak. And then there was the steady murmur of someone giving a speech that was coming from the wall beside me that the staff said they couldn't hear and didn't even try to find or stop it. It's really convenient for us, but way too much money to spend and leave irritated everytime."

  • "Service was amazingly slow. Once everyone was served but one, it was a good five minutes before the last diner was served. We had so many different people wait on us, we had no idea who to speak with. Then our desserts were all wrong. What was presented to us as Sorbet was Vanilla Ice Cream. They continued to say the "kitchen" assures us it is Sorbet. Not right. You can call it that but it was not Sorbet. The price is too high for the quality. And its so loud in there you can't even hear the person next to you. I will not go back."

  • "I work in the Comerica building and eat Lunch at the Chophouse regularly. But was disappointed in the dinner service. It was extremely loud. The brussel sprouts were tough and tasteless. I thought the asparagus was something one could get at an inexpensive restaurant. The Caesar salad dressing is very fishy and did not taste like any other Caesar salad I have had. My out of town guest had a steak that she said was fine. For the prices at the Chophouse at dinner, I will probably not return for dinner. Unusual sinec their lunch menu is generally good value and tastes good."

  • "Had dinner at 5:30 party of 2. Sitting was "tight" many open tables we were placed next to party of 8. Another table had several people just come in for dinner with "Biker shorts and tee shirts" on. Server was good. Had good expalination. Drinks were slow in getting to table. Asked for on the rocks..no ice in drink was told they must have melted, but they were in the glass. Menu was nothing special. Lobster bisque was sweet made with ginger was not a fan. Steak was 21 day old dry aged was not inpressed. Only 4 desserts on menu portion was very small for price. We should have just went to Papa Brothers."

  • "The food was good but the service was not good. The server was not really paying attention to our needs , did not make sure if we needed anything on a regular basis. I was there for a business lunch and had to ask someone to get my server in order to pay the check. Most people do not have 1 1/2 hours for lunch. The food was great, the service was too slow."

But for the prices I expected something more from the food -- it was nothing exceptional that I could tell. Wine list was over priced with a few options priced in the $50s and much above that. Don't eve remember what I had; it was very pedestrian. If I'm eating for my money, I can find better food and wine for less."

  • "The entire experience exceeded my expectations...the staff was very professional, friendly and efficient. They were timely with their table side activities...not too much and certainly there when we needed them. The food was terrific...steaks were great, the salads very good and the steak fries were out of this world. The experience was topped off with a few little things that end up being big things...the small serving champaign toast, the deviled egg with caviar topping and the popovers...all very good and nice surprises. We will be back and will be more than happy to pass on our recommendations to our friends and associates."

  • "The restaurant had a slightly trendy feel. Rather than menus, they issued iPads. The tuna tartar was excellent--possibly the highlight of all the food. The 30-day aged ribeye was non-descript. Unlike good, marbled ribeye, ours was too lean and a bit dry. The gulf snapper was very good and the salad (iceberg, pecans) was a good starter. The ambiance was very nice. We went later in the evening, so the crowd was sparse. Service was excellent, and the wine recommendation was very nice (Groth). However, I would have preferred that we topped off our wine glasses ourselves. Overall, it was a very good dining experience with attractively prepared entrees, excellent service and a romantic dining atmosphere."

  • "My 2nd time at the Dallas Chop house. Impressive upscale atmosphere.A little pricey.There is a dining room side,and a lounge side with patio.The lounge side offers slightly lower menu and drink pricing.Food is good.Waiters are friendly and attentive upon seating and meal order, however disappear after serving.The main return factor for my group is the amazing lounge/patio entertainment, that of GOGA-singer and musician, he makes for a great mature festive social atmosphere."

  • "My husband and I in another couple had dinner there last Saturday night. It was absolutely fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding from the cheese plate through dessert. It is hard to say what my favorites were but I really loved the Hawaiian bigeye tuna appetizer. I don't like Brussels sprouts but the side dish of brussel sprouts was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We decided to dine here prior to going attending a concert at The Majestic for the first time - so it was a special night for us. First, the manager actually read my special request of a quiet corner seat and gave us 2 options and let me pick We sat a a corner booth which was perfect. Our server was very nice and presented us with a complimentary small appetizer and two tastings of a white wine, The appetizer was a deviled egg with caviar and very tasty, but I love caviar. There were so many options that I was tempted to only have a couple of appetizers for dinner but settled for filet with lobster tail and hubby had the redfish. My meal was good but his was excellent! Definitely trying that next time. Overall a wonderful evening!"

  • "This is an upscale high-end steak house with an excellent selection of beef and some seafood selections as well. I particularly liked the butters & sauces side menu, and the 'maytag blue cheese and applewood bacon' butter was the perfect topping for the 8-oz fillet. The fillet was done perfectly medium-rare. The grilled asparagus with hollandase and parmesan was a great side. The table bread - popovers - were huge and piping hot. I appreciated the amuse-bouche sent out by the chef (hard-boiled egg with white truffle and caviar), though I'm often turned off by truffles due to the odor. next time : i want to try the Himalayan salt-cured fillets."

  • "Although I had reserved a table in the restaurant through opentable, I was seated in the bar-section. Very noisy, poor ambiance. Then I had to wait 20 minutes to get a glas of water. The food served was good. But the service was very poor. I had to stand up, go to the bar and ask one of the managers for a glas of wine, the server constantly ignored me. Considering the price-level, the poor service is not acceptable at all."

The dish i ordered came with spinach, which they substituted with kale without alerting me, when i asked for spinach they said they were out. It's not a biggie, but with a restricted diet i have to be careful. Would have liked some notice or had it taken off my bill."

  • "We dined here as a group while staying at the nearby Joule Hotel. There were not many options within walking distance - so the Dallas Chophouse was a good option. I had the Gulf redfish which had a wonderful preparation. The other guests all had steak and said they were perfectly prepared. The deviled egg with caviar was a nice touch to start the meal. But the real star of the meal was the popover service - right out of the oven. If you are having dessert - I recommend the carrot cake. The ambience was a little lacking in warmth, but I suspect the out door patio with fireplace is lovely when the weather permits."

  • "Went to dinner on Thursday night and had a remarkable meal. Enjoyed it so much went back on Sat night and experienced worst meal and service ever. Don't know how a restaurant can be so inconsistent - I mean DRASTICALLY. From the cut and cook of the meat to the caliber of the server. I would choose Morton's next time - know what to expect."

  • "We had a great meal at Dallas Chop House. The service was attentive, but unobtrusive. My steak was perfectly cooked, the sides were perfectly sized, and the drinks were well-mixed. Our only complaint was something that was completely out of the restaurant's control: the fact that one couple thought it would be a good idea to bring their crying baby to a nice restaurant. People, get a babysitter or stay at home. No one wants to hear your child cry and whine while they eat. All in all, the experience was great."

  • "Complimentary glass of champagne and deviled egg was a really nice touch. Ordered the surf and turf and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. Also had the peanut butter mousse with banana ice cream for dessert and it was amazing. Even the bread for the table was super yummy. Will definitely come back."
