The steaks were cooked to perfection. I'm not a big steak person but really liked mine a lot. My brother had salmon and said he liked it a lot. The outdoor patio is so unusual and inviting that we lingered over our drinks just because we were enjoying it so much. There service was impeccable and very knowledgeable about the menu & wine. As soon as you arrive, they will valet your car for free and hand you a remote controller to push the button when you are ready to leave..how cool is that?? You take the elevator down and can see the patio area with the waterfall. We had a 8:30 dinner and it was perfect outside so we chose to eat outside. I scored big points there with the romatic setting; low dim lighting over the waterfall and piano background from inside. The steaks were cooked perfect. The sides are extremely large and I suggest sharing a side order. The service was great however our waitress kept checking on us, bad when its a first date. We felt a bit rushed but that could have been us. Overall, great food and service! Our waiter, Ant, was fun and energetic. The food was good but nothing special. The staff made us feel welcome and they were all very nice and helpful. The manager brought us a card from the staff and we received free dessert. This is the place to go to celebrate a special occasion. Eat outside next to the waterfall and fire pit. Our waiter was on top of it until it got too crowded. He was a little pushy about us ordering wine and a second side item. We sat outside on their beautiful patio with a waterfall. We had the raw oyster appetizer which is served with 3 different sauces. My husband had a ribeye and I had lamb. Both were done to perfection. We had cauliflower mashers and broccoli for our sides which were excellent. They treated us to banana creme brûlée. The staff could not have been more accommodating and polite, very clearly service oriented. The outside patio is great - very nice water feature - but we had a table indoors and it was super too. Live pianist adds to ambiance. Food quality and preparation absolutely top notch. We had a party of 5, everyone enjoyed immensely. This will be a regular stop on my trips to Dallas from here on out. Just about everyone on staff at some point during dinner wished us a Happy Anniversary. They were never intrusive but did it in the normal service that wait staff would provide. The manager came over and gave us a card that the whole staff had signed. The food was spectacular. We've been dining at Dakota's since before we were married and it will continue to be one of our favorite places to go. Don't at the table for two behind the post. It was quiet, but very crowded for even two. We wished we had asked to be moved to a four top table. I am sure they would have moved us but our reservation was for two, so we did not ask.
The food was delicious and arranged beautifully on the plate. The amount was perfect, not too big and not too small. It was my wife's first time to eat there. We want to go back for a steak sometime. Valet parking was very easy and the elevator was easily accessible. The hostess was friendly and seated us immediately but too close to the piano. Our server was excellent and went over each item on the menu since this was our first visit. He made recommendations and was quick to answer questions. Food was served quickly. I would recommend the crab cakes..delicious! The rib eyes and filets were wonderful and we tried sides of green beans, scalloped potatoes, and mac and cheese...portions were large.
