Great MenuI think it is an excellent place to go in Rapid City, with so many steak houses I like the menu that has different items. I would recommend the pheasant poppers and the dry aged rib-eye steak. Service was a bit slow but it was Fathers Day so I will take that into consideration. They had a reserved sign on the table for my open table reservation and we were seated exactly on time. Nicely done.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodMy custom size rib-eye was soooooo good! It was just the size I wanted. The walleye appetizer is scrumptious. Highly recommended! Georgeous inside!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, attractive settingVery convenient for travelers staying along I-90. Had a tasty sirloin steak, reasonably priced, and my finicky wife enjoyed their chopped salad. Only service lapse was the failure of our waitress to offer dessert.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant dining experience!VERY happy with our choice to celebrate our 22nd Anniversary at Dakotas while on a brief vacation!! I looked it up on-line and it was all I expected it to be. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, and the wine was affordable and lovely. We loved the spicy peanut sauce with the buffalo skewers and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the cowboy bone-in ribeye that was perfectly cooked and came with the entire rib bone attached. My only disappointment was the dry-aged prime ribeye that did not live up to it's hype or price, although still a very delicious high quality steak. We loved our dinner, atmosphere, and waitress and will talk about it for years to come. Highly recommend!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFood to die forEverything i had was absolutely delicious the steak melts in ur mouth!!! Mmmm delicious
Totally worth every penny!!!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food; Nice atmosphereWe wanted a nice steakhouse close to our hotel. This fit the bill. The food was very good, but our server, Jackie, really made the evening something to remember. She was energetic and attentive without being overbearing.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SteakhouseThis is a great locally owned steakhouse with an excellent menu. I've travelled all over, and this steakhouse right here in Rapid City is at the top of the list. You will get a great atmosphere, wine selection, and homemade desserts to top it all off. Enjoy!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPrime Rib delishI have been looking for a restaurant that understands how to make a good Prime rib dinner. They have it figured out. Fresh baked potato, perfectly cooked meat, yummy salad and bread. Reasonably priced and outstanding service.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, but priceyThe steaks were perfect as far as cooking, delivery, etc. but very small for the price. The sides were fair. Good beer and wine selections. Having the pairings on the menu was nice.
The location is near some new hotels, so they're probably targeting travelers looking for a great meal and willing to pay for it. However, as a native South Dakotan that frequents the area, it seemed like a nice place to go for special occasions for a unique but pricey experience.
Also, I got reservations for 7 on a Friday night at 7:30 based on the website's recommendation and they gave us a nice room to dine in, but the restaurant was almost empty and the reservation seemed silly. Maybe as tourist season picks up reservations will be beneficial.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWicked awesome place to eatReally enjoyed this place. Prime rib special with fried Mac was delicious and my wife's walleye was the best we've had at a restaurant, period. Finally there's a place that won't overcook fish! Only drawback for me was the beer selection. Something better than New Belgium, buffalo sweat, and ShockTop (as well as some other "hip" craft beers) would have been nice. Not that they're terrible, its just nice to have variety. Maybe crow peak's ipa and porter for more local stuff, or just some Odells even. Just ask the distributor. I'd go back whenever I'm in Rapid for sure!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
