We"ve always believed that dining should be a social occasion, a time when friends, family, and coworkers can enjoy great conversation over a great meal.

We believe in supporting our local artisans and staying connected to our Black Hills community. At a time when the area is growing and expanding, we're striving to keep the flavor of the region alive.

Inspired by the history of this area, both the aesthetics of the building and the diversity of the menu are true to our local roots, something no nation-wide franchise can duplicate. Certainly, there are other steakhouses out there, but none like ours.

From the first design to the actual construction, we've focused on creating a balance between upscale dining and a casual atmosphere-crafting a chic steakhouse where the kids are welcome too.

The rest is easy-buy the very best meat possible and prepare it correctly.

  • "We were impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. It has a centered fireplace, comfortable buffalo leather chairs, and a majestic, open cathedral-like ceiling. Our salads were tasty with sufficient dressing, and the hot bread was delicious. A pheasant-stuffed jalapeño pepper appetizer was tasty, but its breading was too heavy. Our entire party ordered steaks; two were beef and one bison. We all ordered medium rare, but the steaks were more rare in character. The bison ribeye had a significant amount of gristle and fat, and was somewhat tough. (This prides itself on availability of locally-raised bison, so we are surprised that bison tenderloin—filet mignon—was not available.) Bottom line: nice atmosphere; food needs improvement."

By the time we got the main course we were not hungry anymore and the aged prime rib eye was an ok steak but nothing I would recommend. For the price it should have knocked me off my feet."

But in the scheme of things, that is very nit picky. The food was some of the best the we have eaten in the Black Hills area. The atmosphere was nice and unique."

The doors are always held open for a hearty welcome and thanks when leaving. We deem ourselves to be too old to "tip off" a server that it is a special occasion, but we were asked, and the treat was especially delicious. This is our favorite steakhouse!"

  • "Service was closer to what I would expect at a pub, not a higher end steakhouse. Could understand this a little bit if it was a very busy night with a lot of people waiting for a table. In fact it was a slow night with 3/4ths of the table open by the time we left. When we asked about the nightly special we were told it ran out the night before but was still posted on board by the main entrance. When making the reservation with Open Table I let them know we were celebrating our anniversary. This was never acknowledged by anyone."

We had no idea that a 28 oz bone-in rib eye steak would have a 16 oz bone with it, making the edible portion much smaller than presented in the menu. It was a Friday night, the restaurant was not busy and our waitress was maybe the the worst server anyone at our table had ever had. It was not that she was just slow, unfriendly, inattentive and unprofessional: it was that she was rude with a smile! There is not enough room here to elaborate on every rude detail that she displayed but I can tell you that it was so obvious that she didn't want to be there, that we will never want to be there too."

  • "My medium well stake was charcoal and for some reason came covered in funions, I asked for mushrooms and got singed mushroom flakes under the funions. the steaks were over priced. The Bad music was often jarring from the ambiance, "fancy" and Shania Twain don't really mesh.The hot fudge sundae was the best part if the meal. Our cocktails, both liquor sodas, were flat. Slightly above Applebee's in quality. Not worth the prices."

The server didn't took out coats, we hang them on the coat our self. She never gave us plates for our appetizer.   • "I ordered the spinach salad. I love it!!! I am vegetarian and order it without bacon. Alas, when I got to the last of the salad, there were lots of bits of bacon. I picked it out and finished the salad. I let the server know. The manager came over, apologized, and comped the salad, which she didn't have to do. I very much appreciated it. My husband had a steak, and it was perfect! The Creme Brulee we shared was fantastic. The wine I had was wonderful and went very well with my salad and the dessert. A great dining experience. Yes, we will go back. And yes, I will order the spinach salad again!!"

  • "I love your steaks (Filet Minon)! Always cooked properly! Classic Hamburger Dry and salty. (first time) I ate less than half and I rarely waste food. Christopher did OK for service but when I receive my entree and I am still eating my salad I am not a happy camper. He did take care of our every need. The braised buffalo rib appetizer was exceptional as always. I wish the entire meal was as good."
