  • "We always enjoy meeting at the Daily Grill and enjoying the wonderful menu! Great food and service, altho the noise level makes it hard to hear."

  • "The Daily Grill is a favorite, but I have noted over the past few visits that the service is inconsistent. The most recent visit was notable by the fact that our server seemed completely detached. No follow up was ever done to refill iced tea, inquire as to the food. I hadn't been served by this particular person (female) before, but there is another server (male) who does not seem to have much interest in the job. Now it wouldn't be fair to say this is true of everyone there, as some are excellent. But part of the price of the meal, is the experience. Also, you guys are way to chintzy with the salad dressing - always! PS - love the bread."

  • "We chose Daily Grill for a 7:45 pm Sunday dinner. The restaurant was nearly empty and it seemed like the staff just wanted to go home. The food was okay, although not great. The service was very poor. Our waiter would disappear for very long stretches of time. We were there for nearly two hours, but not because we were enjoying a long leisurely meal. Rather, service took forever. I would try to find somewhere else for dinner in downtown LA."

  • "I like to take clients here for lunch whenever I am downtown. They always have great food and service. There seems to be something for everyone here and no one has ever said the food was less than great. Meal sizes are also well portioned and an overall great value."

  • "Great spot for a before theater dinner. Daily Grill Perferred Guest card provided a nice discount. Service was excellent as usual!!!"

  • "Food was terrific. Staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Will definitely return."

  • "Good salads. Good food. Good portions. Will come back again soon! (Only gripe is that service is sometimes slow.)"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Four of us went for early dinner before a Saturday night show at the Music Center. Great food, with good variety. The monster pork chop could probably serve two. Huge plate of Chicken Parm. with yummy sauce. Very tasty craft beer. No blended drinks, darn it. Service was tops from both the server and server-trainee. We really appreciated the convenient shuttle to the Music Center and back. Another bright spot in downtown LA."

  • "The food was delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal (which is not common). Our server was a little slow and not very attentive, but the food was excellent and I would definitely go back again."

  • "One of a chain, convenient to the Music Center. Appropriate for before theter"

  • "The food was great, our server was fantastic, very personable. Our Hostess asked if we needed the shuttle service to the Dorothy Chandler and let our server know for timing purposes. Food came in a timely manner, good wine selection. Love that LA dining is offering free shuttles to the "Theater" venues, makes the evening less franetic and more enjoyable."

  • "No problems with the food; service was no attentive and sporadic: neede to ask for bread, water, coffee more than once. We were presented with another table's charge receipt."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "My colleagues and I had lunch there on 2/28/2014. We choose this place because its classy with linen napkins, wine and not over the top expensive. I wish I could remember my server's name because he was great and made this visit 10 times better than our last visit. This was the third time visiting but this time service was (wonderful). I had the chicken pot pie & salad special which was pretty darn tasty (Lunch Portion ONLY). Calamari was ordered as an appetizer which was also really good and flavorful. One person in our group swears that the carrot cake is breathtakingly wonderful as she always orders one to go. I'm glad that we gave this place one last try...next time we will make sure we find our same waiter!!!"

  • "Great menu options, restuarant was a bit loud, but we got great seating which made noise less of an issue. Server was very friendly."

  • "Always been there for lunch and this was the first time for dinner. Food was good (not great), service was good as well."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "I have been here twice now, once before a Dodger game and once before a concert at Staples Center. This place is perfect. Food is amazing and served relatively quickly which is perfect before going out. Will be back everytime I need to eat when I am downtown!"

  • "I've been to the Daily Grill numerous times for business lunches and it has always been consistent. Good place to have a quick team lunch and who can resist their warm sourdough bread!"
    Dined on 2/12/2014
  • "I had the Sand Dabs and was very disappointed. They were tasteless, and the rice was over-cooked. Very disappointing experience."
    Dined on 2/12/2014
  • "I had a business lunch for 4 there recently. The "under 600" section of the menu is welcome for those of us watching our weight, and the grilled salmon and asparagu was terrific. And our server was wonderfully efficient and charming."
    Dined on 2/5/2014
  • "Attentive wait staff and white table cloths make this a good business lunch spot. Classy, old school feel resonates well with our firm's value proposition (Mfr.. of high quality security products) and makes clients feel a little special."
    Dined on 2/4/2014
  • "I like to do business lunch here as often as possible....because the the service, quality and pricing are consistently attractive."
    Dined on 12/4/2013
  • "They have a craft beer menu (8 on tap, 2 bottles) that changes daily and an extensive standard beer menu. The food is quite good and the wait staff and kitchen are kind and accomadating. I failed to mention a nut allergy and when my rice showed up with almonds, they quickly cooked me a side order of plain brown rice."

  • "Daily Grill is always reliable with high quality food, and especially good service for business lunches."

  • "Get a reservation if you're coming for lunch because it gets crowded. The menu has something for everybody, including health nuts like me and my companion. Vegetable plate was cooked perfectly, healthy, filling and attractively presented. Ditto the salmon patty. It's an old stand-by in the Downtown L.A. neighborhood among lots of new, more shishi places. Good food abounds here now, and increasingly so. But I know that I'll always have a pleasant experience at the Daily Grill."

  • "The Daily Grill used to be pretty regular and good food. Well, we've been getting their "Cobb Salad" for ions, and they must have divided the chicken and blue cheese into tenths because that is about how much each of three of us had. Of course, they had to double the lettuce to take up the space. This Daily Grill has a very noisy, swinging bar which is under another name, and not to do with The Daily Grill. The noise spills into the restaurant which allows one to text his/her partner sitting in the same booth in order to hear. That means let's go to dinner, but keep communication at a minimum."

  • "it was hard to believe that a grilled Salmon Burger could be so delicious yet have so few calories. The entire plate was excellent."

  • "Good food. Not your fancy dinner place, but nice just the same."
    Dined on 8/9/2013
  • "I've been to a few Daily Grill restaurants and this one just wasn't up to par with all others. Service seemed unattentive (and the restaurant was empty) and food was mediocre."

  • "We don't often venture to downtown Los Angeles, but when we do we usually dine at the Daily Grill. We have found the food to be superb and the service excellent. With a large menu to choose from, we have always been able to select an excellent dinner."

  • "I always have a wonderful experience at The Daily Grill! One of my favorite spots in downtown Los Angeles for lunch!"
    Dined on 12/23/2013
  • "When my husband & I just visited, it seemed a bit harried in the dining room. I'd put the blame on it being the holiday timing and so there were more diners and a large dinner party to add to what would normally be a quieter eveing. That's to be expected when dining out anywhere during this season. The bar area seemed extremely loud (louder than other times) with the TV's playing sports channels and everyone having to talk way too loud to be heard. We'll still return here because the dining experience suits us. We are usually going to a concert and we can get off the red line at the 7th st stop, walk up to the restaurant, have diner, then get back on the red line to continue our journey."

  • "This is a pretty consistently good restaurant. The food is not spectacular, just solid and dependable. Good sandwiches, decent salads, and pretty good selection on the menu."
    Dined on 12/11/2013
  • "Our evening consisted around dinner downtown then a performance at the Disney Concert Hall. The Grill was the perfect place for a gourmet dinner before our event. To make the evening even better, we took their shuttle to the Disney and simplified all our travel logistics. And, as usual, the food at the Grill was outstanding! We have frequented The Grill restaurants in the LA area for over 30 years and they have never let us down."

  • "What was once a gem for downtown Los Angeles has turned into a typical "diner" instead of a exciting Bistro. The menu has been cut down, the unique urban charm and foods are gone from this mid downtown Los Angeles staple. It would seem that they have turned themselves into a trendy bar and bistro in their new offering (Public School). The menu in the bar area seems more urban and hip than that of the adjacent restaurant. I am not certain that this fare is going to be "the pre theatre" place for us again."

  • "Always love coming here before the theater. Food is delicious. Only negative was the valet. We arrived in time for our reservation but the valet was nowhere to be found. Drove around the block four times, nothing. Finally parked and asked inside. .. the hosts caked the valet manager. On the fifth time, he was finally there. Then he acts all surprised like he has been there the whole time. ...I told him not to lie, we were stopped at least 5 minutes and he never came out. Finally got parked and inside 20 minutes late. You would think they would have at least sprung for the parking for all our trouble and stress but nothing. So overall, great food and good place, but because of how this was handled I'd say cystine service is a bit lacking."

  • "Can something be done about the bread - great flavor but the crust is way too hard - you could break a tooth. Service not so good - had to ask for things a couple of times. Other than that, very good."

  • "Food was good, service was good, not much on decor and it was noisy, not great for those of us that don't yell for conversations."
    Dined on 10/24/2013
  • "You can count on the Daily Grill for consistently good food and service. I often take friends here to have a relaxing and pleasant meal. The bar is too noisy though, so ask to be seated away from the bar."
