Daily Grill - AustinOur waiter, the greet girlsOur waiter, the greet girls up front were all wonderful. The waiter staff continued to professionally monitor our needs without disruption to us.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality HH food but understaffedFood was great. Recommend the ahi tostada and chicken pot pie. Portabella fries also good. Impressed by the value of the chicken quesadillas, though the actual taste was just average. Not terribly impressed by the seared ahi (overcooked, small pieces) and the cheeseburger sliders (tasty, but not great value).
The bar area can definitely get loud w/ the music and diners' conversation. All tables are high w/ 2-4 seats spaced fairly closely. There is also an outdoor seating area which could accommodate larger groups.
Our server was terrific, when he was available. He was very attentive and had foresight to bring items when needed. But it was just him for a whole bar + a back room, so it's a wonder he was able to serve us all.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchThree of us made a 85 mile road trip for food and brief shopping. As always the staff was friendly and very fast. The brunch was with the drive! The Daily Grill is a must for us on our trips to Austin!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Food! The menu has a great balance and variety of choices. the food is well cooked and has great presentation as well. Looking forward to my next visit.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent First ExperienceWe made reservations, but the Happy Hour menu is only available on the Patio and in the Bar. I usually don't like bars because of the noise and smell. But the Patio offered welcome quiet and a nice view. The sashimi is excellent. Oh, and we highly recommend the Ginger Smash.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDaily Grill in AustinFantastic for lunch. Can't wait to try it for dinner. Wait staff very professional and food was amazing!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-show & celebrating a birthday!Had a great time! The evening's special mahi mahi was a good choice and it was delightful accompanied by the Caesar salad. We saved room for dessert and were not disappointed by both the birthday brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and the strawberry shortcake. ("I'll never eat again!) LOL Our server, Nick was wonderful, as were all who were so attentive to us this evening which was topped off by a show at The Dell Theater at The Long Center. A great way to spend a Saturday, to be sure!!!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Daily Grill AustinI was very impressed with the food and service. I look forward to the next dinning out.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a "preferred diner" atAs a "preferred diner" at the Daily Grill, I'll say that I always enjoy outings there..... Its location in The Domain makes it a great place for "people watching", the atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly, and the food is very good. Brunches there for special occasions (Mother's Day, Valentines Day, etc). are well worth the trip, and the monthly specials are usually entertaining and worth trying (in April, the lobster pot pie was awesome).....5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great lunchA group of 8 of us met up for a late, outdoor lunch & it was awesome. The staff was great, let us sit on the patio outside the bar. Both food/drinks & service were awesome!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMet up with a few friendsMet up with a few friends for brunch & enjoyed the outdoor patio. Food and service were both great. Great choices, impeccable service. Prime rib was delicious, as was the French toast with strawberries and cream (yum!) Kids had chicken pot pie (delicious) and loved the peanut coleslaw. Consistent food quality every time we eat there.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful. MonkeyThe food was wonderful. Monkey bread the best. Waiter attentive and helpful.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe daily Grill is my go-toThe daily Grill is my go-to play for North Austin business meals. The menu is predictable and the food is consistently good. This particular visit had service that was just average.
One notable "negative" was the food portions, particularly the salads. I feel like the size has gotten smaller since my last visit. For example the Caesar with chicken was a side salad portion but charged at full menu price. Hard to justify the spend for a small chicken breast and romaine lettuce. I looked around and saw similar instances.
I will continue to eat here3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGluten-free menu is a plus.Gluten-free menu is a plus. 600 calorie dinners too.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA go to when shopping at theA go to when shopping at the Domain. My husband loves the chicken pot pie.12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
