We arrived just before our reservations and were seated immediately. There was a very nice 3 piece jazz band that we enjoyed a lot. That made the experience wonderful. The bread was wonderful - made at the restaurant obviously. The salad was average (Bleu cheese wedge) and the chicken pesto pasta was better than average but just pasta, chicken and pesto - nothing else to make it special. Wonderful service, very attentive.

:( Service was not the best - our waiter disappeared before the food was brought out and two other people started helping us. They got 2 orders wrong but they still ate it. I think it took about 1 hr to get our food and it was OK at that. I will probably not go back.

We had 2 orders of skirt steak. Unable to cut with standard knife. Asked for steak knife, still very hard to cut and impossible to chew. The waiter was not too concerned and did not adjust the bill or invite manager to discuss. THIS it should be removed from the menu. Prob will not return for a long time, if ever. Will be happy to discuss with management. Tom Dreher 512-426-5300

Every time I go to Austin to visit my daughter, we always make time for lunch at the Daily Grill at the Domain! We love it, and it has become a tradition for us! Man thanks to the Daily Grill for taking such good care of us, each and every time! And, as I work in downtown Los Angeles, I make a point to go the Daily Grill in L.A. for lunch!

My friend and I had the chicken cobb salad and the lime chicken salad. Our server said they were the smaller, lunch sized salads, so I also ordered a cup of mushroom barley soup (very good). The salads were huge!!! Not being one to waste food, we took our leftovers home and I've had 2 more meals as a result of that. They were very delicious but if you are not a big eater, keep it in mind.

We come to the Daily Grill quit abit for Happy Hour, so we wanted to go for my wifes 50th birthday with some friends. Reserved a table and called in food platters ahead of time. when we got there they had our table, but acted like we had not called in food request at all. Our waitress was either new or just down right rude! When my mom asked for a glass of water, she replied i gave you one earlier. Also they ran out of martini glasses (who does that) and started serving our martini drinks in high ball glasses:( On the up side the food as always was very good and the bartender was great too.

When I eat out with friends, I like to have time to visit and enjoy the company, food, and ambience. I had never been to this restaurant but I fretted when I read reviews about the amount of time it takes to receive the foods because I had a limited time for lunch. Our server, Nick, couldn't have been more accommodating when I mentioned that I had to scurry away and could we order some of the foods early and wait for a friend arriving later to order other entrees. Everything arrived promptly and was cooked to perfection. I recommend the crab cake on the appetizers be placed atop one of the delicious salads. There are other entrees I would like to try when I return. The carrot cake was a nice finish!

It was our first time to the Daily Grill. I felt my daily special fish of baked trout stuffed with crab could have had a little more seasoning. It was a tad on the bland side. My husband had a steak which he said was good, but not outstanding. We had creme brulee for dessert and it was wonderful, very creamy, not gelled like it can be at some restaurants. The one complaint was the glacial pace of the service, though our waiter was very nice. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we didn't walk out of there until 8:20. I was hoping the pace would pick up, but it never improved. We were hungry when we walked in there and didn't get our main meals until about 7:30 or 7:40. The service was so slow we considered not ordering dessert.

I give this restaurant an A + for marketing because I keep going back expecting it to be better. Drinks were really, really slow in coming, as was the wine later. The calamari was the high point of the meal. The waiter was nice, and did the best he could. The skirt steak had a nice flavor, but was tough, and the fries were cold. I really wish the kitchen staff would learn how to cook vegetables. I did send the broccoli back, but it was still practically raw and had no seasoning at all. We won't be returning. I cut up my preferred dining card!

I enjoyed lunch at the Daily Grill recently with two colleagues. I wasn't sure if it would be quiet enough for us to talk, but it was. The food was excellent, plus there were several delicious low-calorie menu selections that were of interest to my friends. Our service was perfect. My two friends had never been to the restaurant before, but they became fans that day.

Party of 5, ordered 2 salads, 5 entrees with 2 being gluten-free, and 1 ice tea. Waited 10 minutes for our waiter to take our order.. Tea came 10 minutes after ordering, but only after reminding the waiter. Salads came 20 minutes after ordering, after asking our waiter where they were. Entrees came 40 minutes after ordering, got one gluten-free dish wrong, another entree's gluten free side was missing. After waiting another 20 minutes for the replacement entree, decided to cancel it, and they offered up a quicker replacement. We decided to take them up on the offer, and that took another 15 minutes to come out. Waiter and manager approached our discussions like nothing was wrong. Never going back.

Our waiter must have been having a bad day. He dropped a drink on the floor behind my father not once, but twice, on separate occasions, splashing my dad with orange juice both times. He also managed to spill coffee on me and the sweater on the back on my chair. All we got was a mumbled "sorry" when we pointed it out. Two of our companions ordered the crab and shrimp omlettes and they came out without the cream cheese, their meals were comped by the manager. I ordered the egg white omlette, looking for a healthier option, and it was swimming in butter! The meals are expensive, don't waste your money here.

I went to dinner here 5 yrs. ago and it was great back then, but not so anymore. I went because I remembered the meatloaf - but when I ordered the meatloaf this time they were out - it was 7pm on a Sat. and the restaurant was 1/4 full and they were already out. My daughter's steak was so bland and dried out that she didn't even want to finish it. The waitress was very nice, but very slow and the order took a long time to come out - which was surprising for both since there was hardly anyone there on a Sat. night. I was embarrassed for my family since I had suggested this place. It was not at all the experience that I had years ago. I do not recommend this place anymore. What a dissappointment.

My husband and I recently had dinner there. The steak was good, if a bit overcooked (I ordered it rare, by which I mean RED center, and hopefully a "charred" exterior-mine was delivered medium-rare), and the sweet potato fries were good. The sauce with the grilled artichoke was mediocre. My husband liked his pork chop. All the food was good. We'll probably go there again.

I've been to Daily Grill several times; however, it was my first brunch visit and we were not disappointed. First of all, the monkey bread was simply devine! A plate of that would have satisfied me alone. I had the shrimp and crab omelet which was also amazing. Nick, our waiter, was attentive and always had a smile on his face. Loved the live jazz music in the background. Will definitely visit again for brunch.

We were not disappointed. Delightful casual Sunday brunch. . .and don't forget the Monkey Bread! We enjoyed our visit on what was a balmy summer Sunday. Tasty food and jazz with a delicious retro 60's feel. Felt very relaxed and well taken care of on our most recent visit. As usual, I chose the bagel, lox and cream cheese. Steve had the Daily Grill's specialty, the Cobb omelet. Both were delicious.

Food was great. Recommend the ahi tostada and chicken pot pie. Portabella fries also good. Impressed by the value of the chicken quesadillas, though the actual taste was just average. Not terribly impressed by the seared ahi (overcooked, small pieces) and the cheeseburger sliders (tasty, but not great value). The bar area can definitely get loud w/ the music and diners' conversation. All tables are high w/ 2-4 seats spaced fairly closely. There is also an outdoor seating area which could accommodate larger groups. Our server was terrific, when he was available. He was very attentive and had foresight to bring items when needed. But it was just him for a whole bar + a back room, so it's a wonder he was able to serve us all.

Its location in The Domain makes it a great place for "people watching", the atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly, and the food is very good.
