Diner Reviews
  • "Me and my girls went to Dahlia Lounge for the restaurant week. We all had the albacore tuna with sticky rice..so tasty with the peanut sauce! I heard the coconut pie is famous there and it was pretty good. Full of coconut flavor and not so sweet at all. To finish up your meal, their donuts are a must! Blueberry jam with the vanilla butter...great combination. yumyumyum"

  • "Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with colors that instantly evoke romantic thoughts and undertones of an upscale Chinese restaurant. There are deep reds on the wall, Chinese lantern fish elements through out and comfortable booth seating. The food was brought out in no time and the service impeccable. I ordered the lamb while my gf ordered the dungenese crab cakes. Both were excellent. Before you leave make sure you leave room for dessert, the made to order donuts. Yum! If in ever in Seattle again I will definitely go back."

  • "We enjoyed lunch here during restaurant week and ventured to try things we normally wouldn't. The warm salad was amazing, as was the albacore tuna! Seared to perfection and melted in the mouth like butter. Sensational food and service. Try the violet drop martini!"

  • "Enjoyed a few favorites: the tomato soup and the bread salad, both outstanding, best I've ever had, bar none. Seated with a few minute wait for our requested booth. Great experience."

  • "My friend and I met up for lunch here for Seattle Restaurant Week. I had the warm salad and he had the beef tartar, both were excellent. We both had the tuna for our entrée, it was delicious - definitely a must try. The rice served with the dish also had an interesting sweet flavor. For dessert, we tried both the chocolate truffle cookie (which was more like a brownie) and the coconut cream pie bite. They were satisfyingly sweet, but a little on the small side. Everything tasted great and the service was friendly and efficient. I will definitely dine at Dahlia Lounge again!"

  • "I have never been here before, but thought it would be nice for a long lunch with an old friend. It turned out to be restaurant week. It turns out that my friend does not like seafood and two of the entrees were just that, so he ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich -- which I was disappointed about. I had the ahi salad, which I loved. Waiter recommended a very nice 1/2 bottle of Chardonnay, exactly the style I like. All in all it was a good experience. I would have liked a little accompaniment with our lunch, though, some bread or crackers with a tampenade or some such thing....just to round it out. "

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my warm spring salad, Paparadelle pasta entrée and a chocolate mousse dessert but my friend's albacore tuna entrée was flavorless. As she doesn't eat meat she asked that the chorizo be removed but that shouldn't be the reason for no seasoning or flavor to the entrée. The waitress was gracious and charged her only for the salad."

  • "We had a wonderful lunch during Seattle Restaurant Week. Excellent service and food. Venue looks excellent after all these many years. Thanks for a great experience."

  • "The food, the service are a true reflection of this eatery's class act. It is one of Tom Douglas' carefully planned and maintained establishment: Professional and yet relaxed! Elena's careful service made this dining experience PERFECT! "

  • "I feel like the restaurant focused too much on making a profit from the food and not on the food they serve. The food was very bland but the service was great. I will not be returning back to this Tom Douglas restaurant. "

  • "The food was excellent and the presentation fabulous. Each dish was well thought out with just the right combination of flavors and sensations in your mouth. The wine pairings with each course are a great compliment to the entire meal. This is a definite come again on our list!"

  • "Can't wait to try the Douglas' other venues. The selections and food were outstanding. I never take the time to do reviews, and to pass this one up would have been an injustice."

  • "I had called the day before and inquired about the availabilty of a gluten free menu and was told there was one available. This is due to allergy needs, not a lifestyle choice. When we got to the restaurant and I inquired about the menu, I was told they did not have one. Now, I worked with my server and it all worked out, but that is a real concern for some of us and correct information can make or break a meal. The second item that caused me pause was that our party of five waited for 30 minutes before being acknowledged by any wait staff after we were seated. We actually had to inquire about having our orders taken. Nice ambience and good food, just a little more attention could be shown."

  • "My friend and I went to Dahlia for Sunday Brunch because we saw pictures of their eggs benedict dish posted online. The dish definitely didn't disappoint and filled me up! The pork was great along with the egg and potatoes. The coffee could've been a tad better but I didn't pick Dahlia for the drink options."

  • "We very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It was a fun experience for us out-of-towners. While I enjoyed a resteraunt week meal my dinner date enjoyed one of the regular priced meals. Both dishes were good eats and the drinks were fabulous! Our server was very attentive and outgoing. We enjoyed her company during the meal."

  • "Restaurant week is a great opportunity to try out this restaurant. The food was delightful and creative. The wine pairings were excellent. I would have never paired do-nuts with a Tawny Port, but this pairing was outstanding. The evening was fun and the outing was special."

  • "We took our kids and my sister to Dahlia Lounge for brunch before a Mariners game last Sunday. Our server was the most kind and knowledgable server I have ever encountered, She was extremely patient with us and we debated our orders and was helpful without being overbearing. The food of course was amazing and we were pleasantly surprised with the range of ethnic offerings. Prices were very reasonable too. We will definitely make it a place to take guests to show off Seattle's great cuisine and will come back to treat ourselves."

  • "Great food and great service. The seafood starters are not to be missed. I wish they had food like this in my small town."

  • "I hadn't been in a few years and was delighted to have a terrific meal with great service. In a city with a zillion hot restaurants, which sometimes overcharge and under deliver, Dahlia Lounge is a class act. Everything we ordered was delicious and expertly prepared. Food was timed well. They bake amazing bread. We had a great server with exceptional wine knowledge. We requested a booth in our reservation and got one, which was great, given that most requests to restaurants go unheeded. You can park across the street for $6 in the evening, which takes the guesswork out of street parking. For Seattle locals - go enjoy a meal here if you haven't been in a while."

  • "My friend and I had dinner here recently and had a great experience: we loved the beef tartare with taro crisps, lamb and peas (but not the semolina dumplings which were bland and unworthy) and fresh beignets! Our waitress was spot on and we would definitely return. :)"

  • "Loved it! The doughnuts were delicate, not too sweet and really yummy with the jam. And the Cobb Salad was very tasty as well. I will definitely have lunch there again!"

  • "I went here for a team dinner with my coworkers and enjoyed it so much I had to bring my wife back for restaurant week. Everything we had was amazing, and was well-paired with the recommended wines. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Not a place we could afford to regularly go, but the perfect place for a special night out."

  • "Enjoyed a delicious Restaurant Week 3-course lunch for $15. Three choices were offered for each course: appetizer, entree and dessert. Selected a nicely prepared refreshing salad, melt-in-your-mouth grilled cheese sandwich with a side of creamy tomato soup and for dessert a very tasty chocolate truffle cookie. Elena provided excellent service with a smile and made the dining experience even more enjoyable."

  • "Came here for the SWR lunch. The food is great and the portion are reasonable. Order "Beef tartare" (seaweed pesto, kewpie mayo, tobiko, taro chip) for appetizer. Beef itself seasonable heavily with sesame oil but the fish roes on top give it additional layer of flavor and texture, unlike ordinary tartare. seaweed pesto is a great addition; never had it before. One complain is the taro chip is still oily; the kitchen should have wait for the oil to drop or remove some of oil before serving. The combinations are great. Entree Albacore tuna (sticky rice, cucumber, fresno peppers, thai basil, nuoc cham, spicy peanut sauce ) is also great. Everything is seasoned to the right amount."

  • "A good restaurant with great appetizers and entrees. The kitchen was rather inconsistent the night we were there. It got out appetizers out quickly but took over 30minutes to get our entrees out. Overall a satisfying meal. The desserts were excellent and you need to save space for it."

  • "Had dinner with a party of four prior to attending the Broadway rendition of the Lion King on Saturday night. The service, food, and atmosphere were fantastic. The fresh, sustainable seafood and vegetables were all cooked to perfection. The wine top notch. The experience was full and satisfying. Will certainly return again and again!"

  • "Dahlia Lounge has always been awesome but I especially love them for their wonderful brunch menu. Love the ambience of the restaurant and the food is consistently of a high standard. I LOVE their "Made to order doughnuts," "Benedict," and "Five spice duck hash" are all to-die for!"

  • "Live in Seattle and have not been to Dahlia Lounge for awhile...so glad we returned! Place is like we remembered, greeted warmly at the front desk, table was ready and treated very well at our table! Food was excellent, tartar, oysters, halibut, lamb chops and the steak were all good choices! Our server was friendly and did a good job! So nice to see a Seattle classic still going strong with continued good food and service! Will return!!"

  • "Yes great service and beautiful restaurant but we won't be back. Too many other restaurants in the area to try. The food was nothing special. In fact my fish was dry and I couldn't finish it. We were here years ago at its old location (from out of town) and had a truly memorable meal of the most amazing black cod! It's true you can't go back! And now I won't go back!"
