Diner Reviews
  • "From the Burrata to the lamb everything was great, everyone past food to each other to try. We also had the butternut squash ravioli which was amazing. The chicken and veal marsala wese plain in presentation but the taste was very good. The ricotta cheese cake was delicious yet light."

  • "Haven't been to DaDomenico in years and, although it has changed slightly, it was just as wonderful as I recall. The food was fantastic, the wine list and Betty Lou's recommendations were spot on and the ambience was just perfect."

  • "This was our first time dining at DaDomenico, and it was a wonderful evening from beginning to end. We were greeted promptly and received a very friendly welcome. Part of our party had already arrived and was seated in a lovely very private booth. Our server was excellent she took drink orders, she told us to take our time and let her know when we were ready to order. She realized we hadn't seen each other in quite awhile and we wanted to talk for a bit before ordering. While we were looking at the menu, we were brought very warm Italian bread with choice of oil or butter...delicious! Our meals were very good, everything was completely enjoyed. The food and atmosphere at DaDomenico was excellent."

  • "The night we were there, a group of 6 was making quite a bit of noise very close by. Another group also was irritated. The place was not very crowded (this was a Monday night), so the group should have been seated away from other diners. Their veal chop is always excellent, I had gnocchi and cucumber soup - both excellent also. Ambiance is fake European and fine. Staff usually excellent but our server kept walking away from her area. We had to wait for her to pour wine several times. This is unusual - service is usually great. Must be the "B Team" on Mondays."

  • "Excellent food, great service and great wine selection!. It is my favorite Italian restaurant since 12 years ago! They do know about customer service!"

  • "This is a local favorite for the quality of food, service, and ambience. Booths are very private, Can't beat the value."

  • "Hadn't been in many years - the bread and the homemade pasta were both really good. Started with the burrata, which was excellent."

  • "Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Exactly what you want in a long-established family-owned restaurant. I first went there thirty years ago and was glad I tried it again."

  • "Enjoyed dinner at this seemingly established place in booming Tyson's Corner. Food was good, ambiance very pleasant, and wait staff authentic and fun. Very nice evening enjoyed by all."

  • "Made reservations and requested one of their booths. Luckily one of the booths was available and we were seated as soon as we arrived. To start, we ordered the Mozzarella in Carrozza (fried mozzarella) and the Insalata Di Cesare (Caesar salad), as always delicious. The Hubby ordered the famous Veal Chop and said it was amazing. I had the Petto Di Pollo Parmigiana (Chicken Parmegiana) also delicious but could not finish it as the portion was large. Overall service, ambience, and most importantly the food was great, we will definitely be returning."

  • "We went for a Mother's Day dinner. They had a set menu - unfortunately not much vegetarian choices... The waiter was not willing to help us but just before the meal arrived, he said the chef was willing to accommodate... Too late! One of the wait staff was very rude - just plonked the bread basket on our table and walked away. Luckily he did not end up serving us. Whatever we did eat, was delicious! We would probably go back, just to try the regular menu. "

  • "We made a reservation for Mother's Day Brunch. Even though the restaurant was not at all crowded, we waited about an hour for our food and we were only a party of four. Once the food arrived, it was delicious, but there were items that we had remind them we ordered. They were excellent at accommodating an infant. The interior of the restaurant could use a little sprucing up."

  • "I met 3 former colleagues for dinner at DaDomenico. The food for all of us was very good, the wine excellent and the ambiance outstanding. The room was quiet enough for conversation, the service was very attentive. It was a great evening and the atmosphere in the restaurant greatly contributed to the success. "

  • "As you enter the restaurant you find that it opens up into a very nicely decorated and romantic gem in the Tyson's corridor. The food is high quality, and is delicious. The prices are good and surprisingly less than you would expect as your meals are prepared by an actual Chef. The service is exceptional. Think Mom & Pop restaurant with an world renowned Italian Chef, and European décor. Thank you!"

  • "We did a project team dinner on a Tuesday night and had a great time. We had different dietary restrictions in the group and all were able to find multiple choices for their meal. We ordered appetizers and salads and soup for the first course which were all wonderful. One of our group had the famous veal chop and said it was wonderful. I had ravioli and could not finish - it was a healthy portion. We also ordered desserts and had panna cotta and creme brulee. Both were great. We also ordered a few bottles of wine and the prices were reasonable and selection was very Italian. We are definitely planning another visit. "

  • "Don't forget to try their veal chop. It is the best."

  • "I had not been to Da Domenico in about 8 years and that was a mistake. I should have come back sooner. Note that we came for lunch so the crowd is more businesslike than for dinner. We arrived at 12:15 and there was plenty of seating space but for a Monday that was not bad at all. We both ordered the Salmon special which was priced a little on the high side given that it was lunch but kind of expected for this particular Italian restaurant. It was cooked very well and I would order it again. Definitely returning."

  • "We found out about this restaurant on Open Table. We saw that it had great reviews and it was close to our daughters school ( GMU), we were taking her and her best friend to dinner for their Birthday. From the moment we walked in the door the service began. We were greeted with warmth and a genuine feeling of welcome. The wait staff were very pleasant and every suggestion was spot on. The food was amazing, not heavy and the portions were just right. We brought our own dessert of cupcakes, which they had no problem with and then they brought tiramisu for the Birthday girls. We will go back again and again. Great last minute find. Don't be put off by the fact they are located in a strip mall."

  • "As soon as we walked in, we noticed the average age of the wait staff is 55 or 60, often a great sign. It was clear they were veterans of the well run restaurant. The service was a little slow, though the result of being understaffed and not any lack of intention by the waiter. The wines by the glass were a little too pedestrian for the very good food."

  • "The fettuccine con vongole was the most flavorful version that I have ever had of this dish anywhere. The insalata Mista was delicious and both of our desserts, pana cotta and Sicilian cannoli were excellent."

  • "Excellent vegetarian food. Would like to have a few more vegetarian options."

  • "After reviewing the long list of awards you say to your self , can't be that bad. WRONG. It's day has come and gone. Interior needs a make over. It's just too bad. After receiving our appetizers which where dishes that had the opportunity to be great. We sent them both back . spoiled food. ask for our check and explained the situation and left. No one tried to stop us we left a half bottle of wine."

  • "Very good dining experience--excellent food and service (JB was an outstanding server). The kitchen was slow apparently due to several large groups. The server made up for the time it took for the meal to be served with attentiveness, and Italian meals should be gradually enjoyed, anyhow. However, I recommend that the restaurant should better staff its kitchen AND limit the number of large groups."

  • "We had not been Da Daminico is several years. I was so happy to see it is still as delicious as always. Eating there is like stepping back in time when going out was an event, where you were welcomed and waited on and not rushed! The shrimp in the scampi were delicious. I topped it off with a fabulous panna cotta! The restaurant was not very busy on this past Friday night. I hope people rediscover this landmark. It is too good to lose!"

  • "We went to Da Domenico for my Mom's birthday. We enjoyed the fried mozzarella appetizer and calamari. The marinara sauce was fresh and flavorful. My chicken dish with prosciutto and fontina cheese was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals except for my brother who ordered the lasagna. He said the pasta layers were not tasty and he didn't like the meat sauce. My mother loved the ravioli filled with sausage and spinach. It wasn't heavy at all. My husband especially loved his salmon with peppercorn cream sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. The menu is sure to please everyone and the service and price are unbeatable. We will come back again."

  • "This restaurant is fantastic - delicious, warm, and outstanding service. We came earlier than expected, and we were taken immediately with a "no problem" attitude - the restaurant wasn't even officially open yet! Our meal was delicious, the timing of each course well done, and overall just an amazing time."

  • "We have been eating at Da Domenico s annually for 10 years when we make out once a year trip up Tyson's Corner. The food is always consistently excellent. However the service these last 2 years was so awful that we cannot justify returning."

  • "We had a table for 14-16 and we had to wait for the last table to leave for over 15-20 mintes. Had some issues with separate checks, but the food was good and service OK. Food came out a little slowly, but we enjoyed the experience."

  • "Everything was absolutely perfect during our special occasion dinner."

  • "We made reservations at this restaurant, but when we arrived the front of the restaurant was soooo backed up. There were about 20 people waiting by the front door. Our reservation was at 9pm and people were still waiting to be seated from 8pm reservations. Needless to say we left and had to find another place to have dinner on Valentine's Day (which was difficult). They should not have booked these reservations if they couldn't provide the space. Very frustrating. THIS REVIEW IS SAYING NOTHING ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD (WE DIDN'T GET TO EAT THERE)"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing attempts at a dining experience we'd ever had. We made a reservation for dinner on Valentine's Day (8:30pm). We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time - there were at least 20 couples standing in the entryway, all with 8:30 reservations (at least one couple with an 8pm reservation that had not been seated yet - and couples with 8:30 reservations were seated before them). Extremely unorganized and unfriendly, the staff of the restaurant preferred to ignore the giant crowd at the front, answer no questions, and randomly pick couples to seat at tables (who knows if they had reservations). After about 20 or 30 minutes, we gave up on ever getting our table and went somewhere else."

  • "Went to celebrate a very special birthday which was never acknowledged by the staff. In the past, they'd bring out dessert with a candle and serenade. They also gave out roses on Valentines Day to all female diners in the past. No more. What a disappointment. Very noisy. Stale bread. Got into an argument when we asked for fresh bread. Had to ask three times before the bread was replaced with wonderfully hot, freshly baked bread. The veal chop was much better this time than the last. They used to be very consistent. The staff used to be very pleasant always. Like the roses and birthday dessert, a thing of the past..."

  • "I have past this location many times but wondered about its location in the Tyson's area and the quality of the food. However, always looking to try Italian Restaurants in NoVA I recently made reservation for dinner for my wife and I. We both had the Veal Chop as our main dish which was fantastic. My wife's buratta appetizer was very nice as was my sausage over polenta (both on their Valentine's Day fixed menu-Yup, first time). The homemade ricotta cheesecake was like GrandMa used to make which was also fantastic!!! So after our meal I could hear my mother whispering into my ear one of her favorite sayings, "Never Judge A Book By Its Cover." We will definitely return as I saw many dishes on their on-line menu to try."

  • "It had been a few years since we were last at Da Domenico's- - -new ownership in the interim. Food was very good, bordering on great- - -much better than we recalled - - - and the service was excellent. Prices were reasonable and, unlike many nearby restaurants, you could actually enjoy a conversation. Overall, a very positive experience; we will be back again soon."
