Compared to Davios and Erbaluce which are within a block of DaVinci and also Italian, I'd say the service and food at DaVinci was superior. Have eaten at Davinci previously. Food is amazing. Somewhat pricey but given service, quality of food it is worth it. Everyone in my party of 4 had incredible food. Rigatoni Bolognese is possibly the best in the city and maybe best I have ever had (other than when I had it a the top restaurant in Bologna Italy). Our server Katie was excellent, knew the menu and the specials. the Chef came over and spent several minutes talking with us. Beef Tenderloin was fantastic (regular menu) and Black Sea Bass (special) was great too. Portion sizes were perfect. It is a little noisy, some of the noise came from a couple watching a basketball game at the bar and cheering rather loudly. fortunately the game ended about 15 minutes after we were seated. I had the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked it was delicious from the sauce to the vegetables. Everyone was very pleased with the food. Especially the deserts. The service was impeccable as well. The Chef suggested items for our meal, and was happy to accomodate a vegetarian. For starters, a burrata with tomato, a small green salad and cheesy arancini were all excellent. Next, the Masala raviolis were an inventive Indian/Italian fusion, bursting with flavor, and the gnocchi con funghi were soft and comforting, rich and truffly. Main courses of haddock and melt in your mouth beef tenderloin were also top notch, as was a molton chocolate cake dessert with vanilla ice cream. There were no flaws, and no shortcomings in our meal. A personal visit from the chef was a special treat. We had the masala ravioli and the haddock on a pea potato biscuit, very unique and very tasty! Kim was our server and was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the wait staff also exhibited excellent service and responsiveness. The waiter was fantastic and the food and drinks we ordered were all amazing. We went as part of restaurant week and could not normally afford to eat at a place like this but they treated us like valued customers nonetheless. We went during restaurant week and at the top of the menu it said ask your server about gluten free options. Our server did not seem at all knowledgeable. He had to go ask the chef multiple times what items can be made gluten free and made it seem like an inconvenience. The menu was excellent and the arancini was by far the best I've ever had. The service was a little iffy - it took forever to get our drinks refilled, which was annoying, but not a deal breaker because we were enjoying a delicious meal together on a Friday evening.
