A word from Da Vinci
Da Vinci Ristorante is renowned and highly recognized in Boston's stylish restaurant scene, bringing wonderful flavor and ambiance to the South End/Back Bay area since 2007.

The sophisticated interior is warm and welcoming and the staff extends that feeling to each and every patron. The recently redesigned and modernized space features a comfortable full service bar.

Chef Peppino's menu reflects a blend of modern and classic Italian cuisine from his training in Europe's Italian restaurants. It features an array of beautifully presented Antipasti and Entrees, and the chef's homemade pastas are made fresh every day as is the bread and all desserts.

Great emphasis is also placed on accommodating guests with dietary, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan restrictions to ensure that each and every guest has an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

My girlfriend and I came to Da Vinci's for her birthday, being drawn by their 20+ minute prep time souffle (which can only mean it is fantastic-- which it is). The food was exquisite, the staff had perfect timing and were personable. The atmosphere was relaxed and elegant. Their passion showed through in everything they do. I would recommend Da Vinci to anyone looking to treat themselves and loved ones.

Cute little restaurant. Decided to splurge with chefs menu. Appetizer course was excellent. The pasta course was decent - the mushroom gnocchi was excellent, but the other pasta (with red sauce and short ribs) wasn't cooked (not just al dente, but hard, a bit crunchy). We tried the special, halibut, for next course, it was tasty, but dry. We were told the meat course was a filet with a crispy mashed potato, but we were served short ribs and polenta instead. Short ribs were tough and burnt, and were a repeat of one of the pasta courses. I elected not to eat it at all. For dessert course we had a chocolate soufflé which was lovely; I wish the vanilla gelato they served it with was soft, instead of frozen rock solid.

The food, service and atmosphere were all above average. And we had a celebrity sighting. Rachel McAdams was sitting next to us. Comfortable and cozy. Order the rice balls appetizer and the pumpkin and sage mezzaluna. Delectable.

Was there with 8 people for a work dinner and the food was amazing. EVERYONE in our party raved about their meal. They always know how to do it right at Da Vinci. Our only complaint was our service. The server was very nice, but not attentive, took him a while to take our drink orders after we sat down, and waiting for our check actually became painful. We flagged someone down to get our server and our check, but it still took a LONG time to get him back to our table. After such a wonderful meal it was sad to end on such a down note.

DaVinci is a good mood place. A mix of hipsters, (ahem)adult couples, yuppies, men from the neighborhood... everyone meets at DaVinci for a blow off time. The fig and crispy prosciutto was sweet, salty, succulent. Fruiti Di Mare was perfect, but the salmon at the next table looked wonderful. The food is excellent, but the staff is high touch.

Hip vibe for a Monday night. Professional and accommodating host. Service was largely professional, but a few minor oversights. Food was well prepared, but was overpowered by garlic, pasta was a bit overcooked (but right for the American preference) and was a bit bland, and could have been served hotter. Portions are on the small side for the price. Wine list is small for half bottles, and is pricey ($75 for 1/2 bottle of Cakebread Chard.). Overall quite nice. Dimly lit, but menus are illuminated, which is a nice touch.

Couldn't get reservations where I wanted, and found this place. Food was very nice. And it was not overcrowded and also not empty. Great waiter in spite of our asking lots of questions. Bolognese was not, "the best I ever had," but was very far up there, and the pasta was perfectly cooked with just a bit of chewiness. If I lived there, I would go back again to try several other items that looked good.

We had our tenth anniversary dinner here. The service was attentive and friendly. In terms of the food, it was one the best meals I have had in a long time. The chef is likely to circulate and see how you are doing, and strike up a chat. They added some nice personal touches during dessert for our anniversary without being asked. All in all, one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in town in years.

Visited 08/14 for restaurant week. Good value @ $33/pp. Bolognese excellent. Chix Parm very good w/ homemade mozarella. Tiramasu was prob best I've ever had. Wine list extensive but pricey with less than a handful @ $40-$50 and quickly escalated to $180 from there. Service friend and efficient but not the most prompt. Ambiance lovely for romantic or special occasions. Definitely visit again after saving my pennies. I recommend. Lovely experience. Enjoy!

We had been wanting to check out Da Vinci and thought Restaurant week would be the perfect time to do it. We should have checked the online menu first because just about everything other than pasta dishes had an upcharge. Food was good, but not outstanding. We paid $140 before tip for two pasta dishes and a chicken parm, and three glasses of wine. Wish I could say we had an expensive bottle of wine, but the meals were all $33 each. The menu choices should have been more creative and not had the surcharges. Not impressed at all and won't recommend or return.

We were looking for an Italian Restaurant in Back Bay while vacationing In Boston. I was afraid it would be a stuffy place. DaVinci was wonderful. The chef/owner stopped by to greet us before dinner and he checked on us after we were served. The waitress was attentive but not hovering. The pasta was made in house. Delicious meal

Went to DaVInci for Restaurant Week, or dine out whatever they call it now. Nice menu with multiple choices for each course, with a number of selections available for additional charge. Prosciutto and fig appetizer was terrific! The pasta bolognese was delicious. Chocolate mousse was good, but my friend had the puffpastry with peaches and fresh berries, which was fabulous! The service was attentive but not annoying. The chef even came out to say hello. All around, just a terrific evening.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Da Vinci over the weekend. We had our choice of tables and chose the one that was quieter. Our waiter was just outstanding. He anticipated what we wanted and served it with style. My husband loved the risotto rice balls.I had the stuffed figs which were great. He thought the Rigatoni bolognese was one of the best he has ever had. I had the Beef Tenderloin that the Phantom Gourmet likes. It was very tender and cooked just right. We had the dessert tasting which had chocolate ,peach crostata and vanilla gelato. It was wonderful ! The light up menus are really fun. We had a great meal and will be back again.

Excellent food highlighted our evening with friends at DaVinci. While the staff was not really tested because of the typically slow August Boston Saturday evening (many diners out of town on the Cape and the Islands) I can only judge the service based on what I saw. DaVinci knows how to treat its customers. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and together with the staff and food it made our evening at DaVinci a memorable one.

This is a lovely restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere and great service. My husband mentioned to the waiter that he is vegan but would be willing to "cheat" a little so we ordered the vegetarian chef's tasting menu. The food was good but LOTS of cheese - EVERY course except for dessert had cheese in it or melted on it. Given that the waiter knew (and mentioned to us that he had told the chef) that my husband was vegan, I wish they could have done more with grilled vegetables or pasta with a fresh sauce and without so much cheese. I would love to have given this a higher rating but, for the price, I wish they could have been more accommodating or recommended to us that we order something else. We would be willing to try it again.
