Overall, it was a restaurant of decent value since its price was moderate. The food was good. The restaurant is in basement and with low ceiling, it was too noisy. Service could have been more attentive.

I was looking forward to dining at Da Rosina after reading an actor recommendation in Playbill magazine. Maybe it is a different experience if you are a regular, but as a first time visitor, the whole experience seemed indifferent. The service was impersonal, the presentation of the food careless -- just plopped on the plate -- and the quality was nothing special. I actually received the wrong order of fish, but never saw the waiter again for an adjustment. The accompanying vegetables were so al dente, they were not really edible, and why a potato comes on the plate with rice is beyond me. There was no greeting on entering or exiting. There are better dining choices to be made even if a reasonable prix fixe dinner is what you desire.

This restaurant has low ceilings and is extremely noisey. Understaffed, the staff are running around and not able to properly service tables. The food was poor and the overall environment not pleasing at all. We would not return. It was filled with tourists and way too loud. Quite disappointing given the ratings it had previously received.

I was surprised that this restaurant served bread with butter and not olive oil. The bread was good but not great. The pasta menu was great and the waiter recommended 1/2 size portions for the children. These 1/2 portions were more than enough for the children. The grilled vegetable appetizer was served cold and did not even seem to have been grilled. It was disappointing. The main dishes were good but they came with no vegetable...just served with pasta. One adult order was cannelini and my dish was seafood over pasta. Both good but not exceptional. Portions were fine.

The restaurant was extremely noisy. The service was okay, but the food was really disappointing. The red sauce they use must be bottled or canned....definitely not homemade! Overall I would not recommend it because of the poor food. Sorry, but it's the truth and our visiting relatives were very disappointed.

We had a lovely meal with wonderful service after seeing Pippin. We had the prix fixe dinner, very good wine, and all three of us enjoyed our food. The portions were large, and we enjoyed everything we ate. The service was never intrusive, and the meal was well paced. We never felt rushed. A great place on restaurant row.l

I have dined at Da Rosina several times and have always enjoyed the meal. They have a fantastic prix-fixed lunch menu that offers something for everyone. That's important. Food is served in an appetizing manner. The ambience is delightful and the service is as well. Located on restaurant row, it's very convenient to shows in the theatre district. What's not to like? My recommendation: Try it!

We were seated right away, the wait staff was efficient, and the food order was prompt. Our meal was tasty, but something was unusual with the two couples on either side of us. One couple when they paid their bill their waiter brought me their receipt and credit card. The other couple had just arrived and ordered a drink and the staff was confused with how to make vodka w/water and two lime wedges on the rocks, so they got up and exited the restaurant. Seemed really weird!

We had a very nice prix fixe dinner here for just $32 a person. You can choose ANY item off the menu for an appetizer, entree and dessert with coffee. I had the veal scallopini and my wife had a pasta dish. My wife thought her entree was superb (Da Rosina is known for their homemade pasta) and my veal was very good. I've read some negative reviews about the service here, but our service that night was excellent. However, some people may think their service is a bit too fast. As soon as your appetizer is finished, the entree is brought to you, but we didn't really feel rushed. We knew that table turnover is paramount in the theatre district. Our tab, with a bottle of wine was $100. Excellent value!

This is a mixed review. Pros were that all of our food was very good and prices were very reasonable. Cons were that once we were served our food, wait staff virtually disappeared. My husband had to call on someone to bring us another glass of wine. Because I have been spoiled by all of the good restaurants in NYC, ambiance did not compare. Bathrooms were messy with water all over in one and paper towels flowing out of the garbage. Wouldn't go there again

I was a little apprehensive booking this restaurant after reading some mediocre reviews and taking friends who never ate there. However, I soon found my doubts to be ill founded. We had an after theater 6:00pm reservation and when we arrived, we were immediately seated. The prix fixe menu of $32 per person was a great deal with lots of choices. The portions were ample enough and the wait time for our meals was reasonable given the crowd size. While we waited, we dined on delicious bread served cube style. The waiter was attentive and accommodating. We all found our meals to be tasty. We were able to enjoy our meals in relaxed fashion without feeling pressured to leave. In summation, we were very pleased with our dining experience.

The food is very good, we have been here many times before or after the theater. When crowed it's very nosey and the service is not what it is when it's fairly quiet. The think they become overwhelmed when the crowds come in. But I keep coming back because I like the food. My favorite is the Pasta Negri with tomato's & shrimp in a garlic wine sauce. I can't seem to get that anyplace else like they make it. The crowd we were with had other dishes and everyone enjoyed. So if you don't mind some noise & like good Italian food this is the place. Hope you enjoy!!!

The staff are welcoming, cheerful and know exactly how to pace the meal so you can enjoy dinner without feeling rushed. The pasta fagiola soup was watery. When I asked for cheese, the server seemed annoyed. I had to ask twice. When he came back with the chees he dumped an inordinate amount in the soup without asking me how much or ask me if I wanted to sprinkle the cheese. When my wife asked to have pasta as a side dish with marinara sauce in a separate dish from the chicken francias, it came with the pasta and marinara sauce mixed in with the francais sauce (very bad). The server was very abrupt and tried to rush us into ordering our meal before we had our first taste of the wine we ordered. I have heard of speed reading and speed dating, but never speed waiting (they specialize in it)

Reservations for 6pm had trouble getting into town & had to switch to dinner after the show. We were welcomed with open arms. They had a lovely table waiting & we were treated like royalty with plenty of service and attention. The food was very good Veal Picatta -light & lemony, Veal Marsala - marvelous flavor , & Veal Da Rosina was excellent. The desserts (creme brulee & chocolate mousse) were delicious, the coffee piping hot & fresh even though it was late & we were the last to leave. It was quite enjoyable having the restaurant to ourselves at the end of the night. We were never made to feel rushed. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening. The prices were very reasonable.
