The staff are friendly (but not excessively so) and knowledgable about the menu. The wine list is fairly priced and interesting. There are not a lot of choices within each region or style, but the wines on the list reflect a keen eye for quality and are good examples of their type - neophytes will not go far wrong, and oenophiles will find many good choices. On top of that the food is truly world class. Great use is made of local ingredients and the dishes are prepared with the subtlety and appreciation of freshness that is characteristic of the best Italian cooking. When choosing a special place to celebrate her 60th birthday da Maurizio was her first choice. There was a very good selection of wine of all price ranges which I liked very much. It was excellent to have a 'value' menu to choose from as well as I found that to have excellent choices and 2 of the 3 of us opted for that. One small and not very significant thing was the waiter at our table was a bit standofish and that may have been attributed to the fact that we were 3 girls who had lots to talk about and wanted to take our time. We were there for the evening and the waiter seemed just a bit irritated with us - but was still very accomodating and professional.
