A word from Da Marino
Da Marino serves traditional authentic Italian cuisine featuring Chef Massimo's Northern Italian dishes and Chef Pasquale's Southern Italian cooking. Upon entering the restaurant you feel that you are in an old Italian villa overlooking the Mediterranean through balcony windows and terrace. The
restaurant was created and designed by Chef and Owner Pasquale and painted by Italian artist Davide Rodoquino. We offer live piano music every evening.

The first time I dined here it was
very energetic but tolerable. But this time the open mic and the untalented people using it made having any kind of a conversation, even with the person sitting shoulder to shoulder with you, IMPOSSIBLE. On top of that, the place was extremely overheated. We changed tables but that didn't help. The waitstaff were very nice and accommodating and the food was delicious -- they even gave us their wonderful signature cheesecake, on the house. But the experience as a whole was not enjoyable, to say the least. I would not go back there. Nor would I recommend it to local or visiting friends."

I read the reviews before choosing
this restaurant so I was expecting a much better experience. Very noisy- not a place for conversation Tables too close together for comfort and the food just ordinary. Lots of choices in this area. Unfortunately we won't be going back to this one."
Dined on 2/22/2014
Food was excellent as was the
service. Entertainment was a piano player and singing by ownership/management as well as some willing customers. it was fun, but not overbearing."

OK...it was a Saturday pre show
situation. We got there at 6:30 for a 6:30 reservation and could barely get in the door Fought our way to the front of the line and felt fortunate to get a table. Service wasn't bad for the situation, but the stress levels rose as we got closer to curtain time. When we got the bill it was correct, but when the credit card receipt came back we were charged DOUBLE. It was corrected with an apology but.....the time it took to straighten out made us almost miss the opening curtain. On the positive side: the food was good, the wait staff was pleasant...."

Food was very bland. Not much
flavor. Service was average at best. When you NYC you would bench better off visiting one of tbe other fine Italian Resturants."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Was a little more hectic than
normal because we ate during V day. Love the decor and food is good."
Dined on 2/14/2014
we loved this place so much!
amazing food and it's so cute inside. I can't wait to go back one day."
Dined on 2/13/2014
We always go there on special
occasions and before the theatre. The menu satisfies every taste. Every single employee makes you feel like family, stopping by the tables and seeing how things are going. And then there's the piano music. Playing old to new types of musical taste. Highly recomended."

From the moment we walked into the
charming & lively ambiance we were welcomed like royalty. There was a piano player & soft lighting & friendly staff -even the customers seemed happy to be there. It was my daughters birthday & all I had to do was mention it & the following ensued at the end of our meal: they brought over cake with a candle & the piano player sang happy birthday along with the entire restaurant then the singer came over with a microphone & serenaded her.. She said it was her best birthday ever. The food was delicious & as we had theatre tickets they were conscientious of the time so we could make our play. The staff were friendly & entertaining. Dining there was an absolute treat!"

This is an unusual experience. The
food is really expensive, but it is large family style portions. This is a loud and crazy scene, with waiters and piano player singing and even dancing. Quite entertaining. Not easy to have a conversation but certainly fun for am hour or so."

A little gem in the heart of the
theatre district. Everything we ordered was delicious."
Dined on 1/30/2014
Great Italian food. Service was
average. Live music which is nice but could get a little loud at times. Friendly staff."
Dined on 1/29/2014
Great food and service. Red
snapper was superb. Love this place except for the $10 beer."

My wife and I had a 6:30pm
reservation for dinner before an 8pm show. We were seated right away. We were in a small dark separate room which was romantic. Active bar scene and excellent piano player gives a fun vibe. We had the house chianti which we enjoyed. We also split the calamari appetizer and chose the spicy sauce, it had a light batter and was delicious. My wife had a penne dish with shrimp and asparagus which she enjoyed. I had rigatoni and meatballs, and the waiter suggested I try with angel hair in the place of the rigatoni to hold the sauce better. Good call, it was delicious. We made it to Phantom with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommended."

The service was really good and
the food was decent by the prices were far too high for this restaurant. There are better choices in the theater district."
Dined on 1/28/2014
This restaurant is directly across
from The Ambassador Theater. The staff was excellent and very sweet. The prices were a little high but it was worth it for the food! Highly recommend for all types of parties!"

It just keeps getting better here
and its always been amazing, its not just about dinner, every night is a party night and a whole event,,,"

Unfortunately, due to traffic from
NJ, I was very late for my dinner plans but the restaurant was understanding and worked with us on getting us fed and on to our play. When I called the restaurant to tell them I was stuck in traffic, they immediately greeted me by name. When I finally did show up at the restaurant, I was once again greeted by name with, you finally made it. I asked how they knew my name and they said they matched the voice to my face. I have to admit, I felt very special! There was a table waiting for us and they promised we would be out in time for our show including enough time to walk there, which was less than hour from when we entered. The food was excellent, service was great! I will definitely return."

We visited Da Marino for lunch on
a Sunday afternoon before attending the theater. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals which consisted of an appetizer which we split and two pasta dishes. The food was very good and we were able to make it to our show with time to spare.."

2nd time to Da Marino and was as
good as the first. Slow start to get my husbands beer out, the younger guy who brought our drinks couldn't remember what my husband wanted. Come to find out they were out of his whiskey. Asked for a simple Perroni beer and he had no clue what that was. Considering it is an Italian restaurant we found that rather odd. Still no beer so we had to flag down the waiters. Once one of the main guys took over our table, service greatly improved, back to what we remembered about this place. Food was excellent! Love this place, and can't wait to come back! I had the agnolotti which was amazing and my husband had bolognese."
Dined on 1/21/2014
This is a lively friendly place,
with clientele joining in with the little band and singer. At the entrance tambourines and maracas are handed out and the music is irrisistable! Pasta is excellent. Hope to return again and again."

We were a party of 6 on 1/11/14.
We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the food. The servers genuinely cared about our experience and made sure we had a great time. They made terrific menu recommendations and treated us like family. We had a party of foodies, wine lovers, and dietary restrictions, everyone walked away happy and very full! The restaurant is conveniently located and was a short walk from the theaters."

We have made many trips to Da
Marino's and have had a fabulous experience every time. The decor is lovely, making you feel as though you've escaped the hustle and bustle of Times Square and are instead in Italy seated in a quaint cafe. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. I recommend this restaurant to all of my friends that visit NYC."
Dined on 1/11/2014
Good location next to theater but
service poor. Waiter and owner conducting personal business in front of us. But waiter didn't give us much attention. Said in advance we had 7pm shows when we arrived at 530. Food was late. Had to chase him to get check at 655"
Dined on 1/7/2014
We heard about the chocolate pasta
from a waiter at lunch. It's only offered at dinner and is NOT on the menu, so be sure to ask for it. It's fabulous. The pasta is a lovely dark brown, with merely a hint of cocoa. It comes with shrimp and a wonderful vodka sauce. It sounds weird, but it is a true find in the NYC restaurant scene."
Dined on 1/4/2014
I love Da Marino! The food was
fantastic and the service was brilliant. The best chicken Parmagiana I've ever had in my life! A very upbeat, happy environment. Note...The tables are very close together. If you are looking for a more private romantic type table you probably have to request it."
Dined on 12/28/2013
The food at Da Marino was good but
kinda expensive for most of the pasta type dishes. The kids liked it and the piano player was a hit. If you're looking for a good restaurant to take the kids and you are in the Times Square / Theater Distrct area this is a good choice."

We booked this restaurant after
looking at the menu on line, and location, ( it was near our hotel). We were so happy with the friendliness, and the food!! The ambiance was just perfect!!!!I would love to try everything on the menu and hang out there! It's small and charming!!!We were here for dinner so I don't remember the hours, if they serve lunch or brunch... But it's deffinately a winner for dinner!!!"

We made reservations for after
broadway play, we arrived early and they sat us no problem. Food was very good! Pasta cooked the perfect al dente! Service was very good. At 6pm they had a piano bar. Music was great not too loud and a great mix of songs! We enjoyed it so much wish we could of stayed longer. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert. This truly my favorite dessert and this one is the BEST one we have ever had ever!, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!"
Dined on 12/30/2013
We had 7 and they used a small
round and a cocktail table together, a bit crowded."
Dined on 12/28/2013
We were at the restaurant at New
Years Eve, we had booked a table for two. We paid 250 dollar for a menu, but we didn't recieve the bottle of chamapgne nor the cocktail. They said it was becuase we ordered wine for dinner, which we paid for. We were just ignored when we pointed out that we didn't recieve what we paid for. My advice don't visit this restaurang, they seem to have a goal to rip off Tourist. The food wasn't good either, but that is maybe what you can expect on a New Years eve."
Dined on 12/31/2013
I had been to DaMarino two or
three times before many years ago. I remembered it fondly and was pleased that it was still a very nice restaurant. All the times I was there it was after a broadway show. That makes it special."
Dined on 11/30/2013
This restaurant was recommended
because it was close to Radio City Music Hall and we were going to see the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. The food was good, the Service was okay, but the restaurant itself was really nice. Relaxed atmosphere. Would go again if in NYC again."
Dined on 12/23/2013
This is one of the best
restaurants I have ever been to. The food was amazing and the staff was attentive without hovering. The only problem was that the restaurant was not accessible for wheelchair users like myself and it is humiliating to be carried up and down stairs."
Dined on 12/27/2013
Great Atmosphere. Italian Joy.
Piano and singers, non-stop party, with everyone made to feel part of the family! Food was good, but not exceptional and the prices are high. Wonderful place for a special occasion."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Service was totally
inadequate. Would not recommend this restaurant. Many better in the theater district. Wines by the glass not drinkable. Pasta was too well done. Italian bread was like an inexpensive loaf of white bread....awful."
Dined on 12/23/2013
Food is good, but remember you're
paying for the location and convenience and easy access to the theaters. Don't bother ordering the wine - not particularly good, and way overpriced. Stick with bottled beer - at least you know what you are getting. But this restaurant is a five minute walk from some theaters, so it's really convenient."
Dined on 12/21/2013
Booked this restaurant for an
engagement dinner and sorry to say it was a terrible choice. There was nothing special about the resturant or the food. There has got to be more romantic places in Manhattan to celebrate an event like that. Wish I could do it all over again."
Dined on 12/19/2013
I booked a table for 8, the
evening of our reservation our # jumped from 8 to 13 ,we asked for an earlier reservation, the gentleman who answered was very accommodating said he would put it in motion, I reminded him we had a wheelchair to accommodate as well. we didn't know how narrow the stairs into the restaurant were, we could have overcome that but when I went into talk to the host, the entryway though the bar was so EXTREMELY narrow no wheelchair could ever fit through. There was no other options, no one Approached us at that point & we had to make the decision to go elsewhere. I m unclear on what is required for handicapped access in NYC or fire codes, that entry was frighteningly tight in the event of an emergency."
Dined on 12/18/2013
Good location for the theatre but
the food was mediocre and the noise level was very high……would not go again"
