Italian Trattoria food served in a dressed up setting. Nice backyard eating area when the weather is nice.

Food was not bad, but service was terrible, maybe because restaurant was short-staffed.

  • Long Island City on Tuesday Night

Looking for a local good Italian restaurant in Long Island City -- then look no further. Da Gianni is conveniently located and offers a great range of northern Italian cuisine. Fresh mozzarella & tomato was awesome. Loved the Fettucine Bolognese -- have had it multiple times and it was consistently good. We went as a large group (9) on a Tuesday night and pretty much had the place to ourselves. One issue -- the kitchen had run out of calamari and tiramisu and the bar had no chianti that evening, but we found enough other appetizers and appellations so it was no issue. Overall very enjoyable evening.

Our reservation was not honored! We arrived to discover the person incharge of Open Table hadn't been around for a while and because of a large party, they could not accomodate a party of 2!

Small and intimate, you were able to have a conversation without yelling. The food was very good, a little salty for my taste My only complaint was the cuppocono, it was warm, should be hot
