Beer: So nice to have seasonal
beers on tap. Granville Winter Ale: kudos! Service: Very personable & helpful. Food: Wings - Tender, which is hard to find in this city. Lots of ppl like St. Louis and that kind of garbage. This is way better. Beet salad - Also delicious. Beef Ribs - Generous portion and delicious. Meat fell off the bone and was tender. Sauce accompanied very well. Bigos - Ok, the broth was was thin/weak. My reco: beef" it up here. Summary: My wife didn't like it as much as she's lactose intolerant and missing the creams that came with the appetizers, which I used for the mains as well. If in the area, I'd try and compare Lisa Marie."

The fries were really good
considering that's all we ate. The music was not to loud during dinner, but they do turn up the volume at 11 or so. Good place to start your night off."
Dined on 3/7/2014
Went on a Saturday night, and the
place was packed. The atmosphere was great, but the tables are pretty close together (almost communal), so it was almost impossible to have a conversation. Service was a bit slow, which was understandable considering how busy the place was. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. Drinks were the best part of the meal, especially the Mojito and the Let's Get Krakin. I would return with a group of friends, but not on a date."
Dined on 3/8/2014
It was so impressive to be
welcomed by a readily prepared table with 2 menus and 2 glasses on it :) The food was great!"
Dined on 3/3/2014
The dinner started off with slow
service, but I think that's the sort of vibe it was going for. Good if you're planning on a slow dinner over a few hours. Bad if you're hungry. Our beer was flat, but he replaced it. The $21 meat and cheese tray was horrendously over priced. It looked like something I could have made at home: Two triangles of brie, a square of another plain cheese, four thinly sliced pieces of kabassa, some pepperoni (not sure) -- the waiter didn't even know what kind of meat it was. Our main dish was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall I left hungry."
Dined on 3/5/2014
The poutine and pork schnitzel are
excellent choices to satisfy any craving for comfort food on a cold winter day. The portion sizes for these dishes were huge, and the poutine has everything a carb and meat lover could want. Our party had sampled several dishes from the appetizer menu and dinner menu. None of the dishes needed salt or pepper as each were perfectly seasoned. For the person that enjoys a semi-sweet alcoholic drink that is also refreshing and fruity, try the Pimm's Cup."
Dined on 2/20/2014
Food was overpriced, sparse
servings & underwhelming. Beet app was underwhelming & poutine app was hearty but lacked flavour. Perogie main was overpriced for the filling & lacked flavour. Biogos main had great flavour but had 2 very small pieces of beef &1 extremely thin slice of kielbasa - majority was cabbage- I was expecting a hearty beef & kielbasa dish not a cabbage dish. We had reserved for the week prior with a groupon. Once there, the groupon wasn't valid towards the current Winterlicious menu & that the regular menu was unavailable. We really did not want to eat there twice within three weeks (groupon expires March). Not impressed that they didn't contact us about that ahead of time YET they knew we had a groupon when we arrived."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Too bad I had such high hopes for
Czehocki, because our experience sucked. After purchasing the group on, we found ourselves with a limited menu and were charged for the second appetizer. Despite living close by, we wont be going back here again. It took 2 and a half hours to be served and get the bill. Woof."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Food was good, not outstanding.
Rather small portions for the price. We purchased a groupon that was about to expire and unfortunately arrived at the restaurant during winterlicious. Sadly, we had ALL been waiting to try the perogies and borscht, to find them only on the winterlicious menu. Other than a stew with some kolbasa in it, there was nothing really Polish about the regular menu (Caesar salad, turkey burger, etc.) The service was very good. Attentive but not over the top. Would I recommend? Maybe. With so many good restaurants out there, nothing urged me to come back here."
Dined on 2/9/2014
We went on Feb 3 for my birthday.
I had heard good things about the place and I wanted to check it out. We ordered off the Winterlicious menu. While the food was good, there were a few misfires. Overall the portions were smaller than we were expecting and my borscht wasn't warm at all. The mains were both very good with the stew being the clear winner. It took a long time for our appetizers and mains to arrive and then our desserts arrived almost before we were finished eating the main. The bartender who showed us to our table was excellent but our main waitress took a long time for us to get her attention for anything. While it was good and we loved the ambiance, we probably won't go back based on what we ate and the service."
Dined on 2/4/2014
The sharing plate appetizers were
good. The main courses:veggie burger, regular burger and stew were okay, but heavily salted and overly seasoned. The waitress was particularly good. Coffee and creme brûlée were just okay. With this kind of description you can see why $140.00 for 4 people, with no alcohol, seems pricey."
Dined on 2/7/2014
The service was outstanding.
Undortunately, the food was bland. I would come back with a group for drinks because the ambience was good and the service was excellent!"
Dined on 2/6/2014
The food was fine, nothing
special. Their famous red wine Caesar disappointed me and could have been better. Not an expensive restaurant but for what you're getting I would probably go somewhere else."
Dined on 2/5/2014
I was very excited to try this
restaurant and thought winterlicious was a perfect opportunity. For a 3-course meal I only enjoyed 1 dish which was the tuna steal but even then it left me hungry with how small the portion was. I started off with the borscht which promised to be a rich beet soup with mushroom dumplings. Sadly there was one dumpling which looked like a piece of tortellini floating in not a lot of soup and the soup was so salty I was only able to have 2 spoonfuls. The apple crumble dessert was way too sweet and the oats were a bit skimpy - it looked like a bowl of heated up apples. The service was also extremely slow. Overall wasn't the greatest experience and not sure if I would try it again."
Dined on 2/3/2014
I've been here several times, and
I keep coming back for the ambience. However, the food here isn't anything special and always takes a very long time to come out. The food is pubby/ european pubby & pricey. Wine starts at around 9$/glass, but they have half price wine bottles on Wednesdays which is nice. I got a Tuna Steak on a Potatoe Latke- smallest dish I have ever seen (it was $24), looked more like an appetizer, and the taste wasn't inspiring. But you know what the atmosphere is something I really enjoy, and on the second floor they have a fireplace and sexy canvas paintings which they change up over time. For this reason, I would recommend to check this place out. Maybe the food is more to your liking than mine."

I've seen this place for a decade
now but never went in - all that changed last night when we decided to make a reservation and have dinner there. I didn't even know it was so big inside, I remembered when it was just a little butcher shop. But we were taken upstairs and sat at a table that was far too bright so our server sat us in a booth near the bar. It was a nice little place and had a great menu that had a couple of great items for vegetarians like us. Our server was great with the drink recommendations and we started off with a great cheese platter. I wanted a Caesar salad but was thankfully told that it was made with anchovy paste. We had a plate of huge perogies and tasty eggplant schnitzel, mmmmm. Hughly Recommended."

Every aspect fo our experience the
other night here was great. Server was excellent, food was outstanding. Well done!"
Dined on 1/29/2014
It was our second visit to
Czehoski. The first time, we were impress by the deliciously looking plates and amazing smell that kept coming out of the kitchen. This time around, we were upstairs by the fireplace. So cozy and relaxing. The service there is outstanding. All the waiters/waitresses are there for you. We had the nachos. Home made everything! It tasted so fresh. I loved the Pimms Cup. Haven't had a good one since I went to England! We will go back for sure!"
Dined on 1/29/2014
I would definately go back. Our
server was outstanding. The only thing I would not order again are the sharing platters as they are not very big to share! Rest of food was delicious. Best Ceasar drink ever!"
Dined on 1/25/2014
We were served great food and good
time. The server Tim was helpful and not overbearing. The open kitchen provided some entertainment as well, a well run establishment."
Dined on 1/10/2014
Great food. Amazing atmosphere.
Dined on 12/31/2013
Great place for some comfort food;
we sat under the speaker so it was a little loud but we still managed to have a conversation. Love the homemade comfort food like perogies, burgers, and mac and cheese."
Dined on 12/22/2013
Since I moved to this
neighbourhood 2 years ago Czehoski has been one of my favorites. The atmosphere is amazing, they have an incredible patio, the wine list is reasonable & well selected. It truly is my favorite."
Dined on 12/18/2013
The food was really good: we
ordered soup of the day and steak and both dishes were excellent. But we had to wait for it 40 minutes! And the steak was lukewarm. Interesting and cosy design. The tables are very close to each other and the music is too loud, so everyone needs to literally scream to be heard. Me and my friend - we could not talk at all, cause we did not hear each other."
Dined on 12/18/2013
A pleasant comfortable atmosphere
where a.friend and I enjoyed a lovely meal with our teenage daughters. Everything we tried was very tasty - the crab cakes, risotto and tuna, as well as the popcorn creme brule and bread pudding desserts. We're only sorry they ran out of the pierogies, for which we'll have to return. We're looking forward to our next visit."

OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS AN
EXCELLENT ONE!!! FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!! VERY NICE AMBIANCE FRIENDLY STAFF WE WILL BE BACK"
Dined on 12/6/2013
A great menu. Variable and should
make choices easy for many different tastes. Service was very good and they were attentive but not overly so."
Dined on 12/5/2013
The restaurant is a mixture of
ambiances - old new trendy but relaxed - you can sit back and enjoy the evening with friends here very easily as we did the other night. There was no rushing is or over attention paid to us either. This is a place to return to. Food was very good and plentiful. I would like to try some other things on the menu for sure. The wine list was very reasonable."
Dined on 12/2/2013
When I first walked in, I didn't
find it anything special, but a friend suggested I try it out. We were brought to the second floor, which appealed to me more. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. I LOVED their drinks. Their food was quite good also. I also noticed they had a third floor. When I left around 12, and walked downstairs to head out, the first floor was now a bar scene with a Dj - will definitely go back to experience that floor :)"
Dined on 11/30/2013
Nice place to grab a drink and a
bite before a concert. Good music! Nicer than a pub, but still good for a casual night out with friends. Burgers and fries were good. Beet salad was a bit small for the price. The charcuterie platter was yummy and very share-able between 3-4 people. $5 Molson pints and wine on Thursdays were also a bonus. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the area."
Dined on 11/21/2013
If you have a coupon, check up
front that it will be honored. The manager is a cranky one!"
Dined on 11/21/2013
Excellent food and service each
time I go. Haven't been in a yr however still impressed."
Dined on 11/17/2013
Very friendly, efficient service.
Excellent Caesar salad and really toothsome seared tuna on bed of potato rosti with herb salad. My friend raved about her veggie burger. I tried some of her fries, which are up there with the best. We were in the upstairs dining room near a lovely fireplace, overlooking Queen. Really a good experience at Czehoski."
Dined on 11/17/2013
The food was very good, the decor
was rustic and quite charming, we sat near the kitchen area and was able to see the chefs at work and had opportunity to smell some of the orders going out, enticing enough that we will come back and try some of the dishes on the menu. The chefs were great and answered our questions. and very enthusiatic about their dishes. The Carrot & Ginger Soup was amazing.Their specialty 'perogie' was good and seemed ordinary but the cabbage added a nice touch, the risotto was excellent and very flavorful."
Dined on 11/13/2013
We were a party of six that
between us we only ordered multiples of the tuna, pulled pork mac and cheese, and the risoto. Yet our waitress had to come back three times to confirm our order. The drinks were slow and had to be requested multiple times. In fairness the restuarant was busy. Food was very good. Ambiance - sound was loud - not meant as criticism but more as an observation it was difficult to speak to other members of our party. Party's of four woudl have no issues."
Dined on 11/15/2013
We were there on a Friday evening
with a reservation, waited 30 minutes for our cocktails, and then almost 2.5 hours for our dinner to come. About an hour after we ordered the waitress came back and told us one of the things 3 of us ordered was now unavailable - at that point they hadn't even started cooking our mains yet. To top it off, the manager was extremely rude to us at the end of the night. There are lots of amazing restaurants in the area with better food and WAY better service - don't waste your money or time with this one."
Dined on 11/15/2013
The food was good, a bit salty and
the portions where excellent. I was just disappointed because I was expecting a more Polish menu. Also, even though the nice upstairs romantic ambiance with fireplace was really nice, the large amount of naked woman paintings were a bit much. Again, a more traditional / Polish paintings would have been better."
Dined on 11/10/2013
If you are looking for really good
comfort food but do not want a dingy pub or sports bar then this is it. Good food, very personal service in an atmosphere that is vibrant, fun and cool. Unique drinks and a reasonably priced wine list made it a great Friday night."
Dined on 11/8/2013
Tried Czehoski's charcuterie &
cheese platter. We were anticipating a memorable charcuterie experience at the former Polish butcher shop. Price was a little higher than average. Sadly, it was entirely underwhelming. 3 single slices of cheese, 3 types of average grocery cold cuts, a few mm of pickled red onion & some lonely jam completed the board. A small bowl contained a few shards of stale breads. Service was abysmal, wait staff nowhere to be found. Had to hunt our waitress down to request a bit more bread. Received attitude & a few pieces of flaccid white baguette slices. On a high note, Caesar salad & Short rib poutine were tasty. Ambience - crowded & very, very noisy. Could not hear ourselves speak. Will not be returning."
Dined on 11/9/2013
Atmosphere is fun, and the server
was lovely. That said, I have had better perigees from the frozen section of the supermarket, and the nachos and Mac and cheese were just average. If you just want a drink and fun vibe, then maybe this is the place for you."
