Though the decor is not high end, the service and the food certainly are. The bartender was perfect: attentive and skilled. Our waiter, Dana, struck exactly the right balance between attentive and overly present. He guided us in our food selection and our wine selection and then created a perfect tableside bananas foster. The wine was wonderful and the steaks were great. We'll come back next time we are in this neck of the woods. Cuvee is always exceptional, but this was the absolute best. The new menu items are wonderful. The calamari are to die for. Steaks prepared to perfection and the lobster tails just right. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere, though a bit quirky, was romantic with great tall booths and silk draperies. The steak was in the top ten best ever, and I come from cattle farmers! Our waiter was very personal and attentive. And, the Pièce de résistance is the huge selection of wines by the glass! Cuvee's fancy system for maintaining multiple open bottles allows the diner to choose a different glass with each course without fear of receiving a spoiled glass of wine. Extensive wine list as well as automated wine pour system which allows the diner to try 1, 2 or larger ounce pours which go on a card which is expensed at the end of the dining experience. Also a full service bar. Staff knowledgeable, service was wonderful and the food outstanding. Great place for a special occasion or romantic dinner. We also noted that larger groups can be accommodated as well. Service was excellent. We were celebrating a special birthday, and we made a note of this to the restaurant when making online reservations. Without prompting or mentioning this during our visit, our friends birthday was recognized with a spectacular, sparkling roman type of candle that ended our evening perfectly. Great for special occassionIf this restaurant was in NYC or some other very sophisticated food scene, it'd probably still be a solid 4 stars. Considering it's in Central Florida, I wish I could give it 6! It's tiny, the ambiance is very modern, romantic and chic. The food comes in smaller portions (you leave very full, but not much left over) but the food is INCREDIBLY good. Best chef in Ocala works here. Our waiter was so sweet and attentive and did not rush us in the least. The restaurant is the kind of place where you go to savor and take your time. Every sip of wine (they have HUGE wine menu) was perfection, every bite seemingly better than the last. Highly recommend.
