Food is very bland. The salad and gnocchi were very good beyond that the entrees (parpadelle with meat sauce and salmon were blah! The salmon, the fish it self had zero flavor. How does that happen with salmon. We also had 3 servers come by to tell us they would be serving us. 4 parties in the dining room and they don't know who will be our server. This restaurant is just so so. Would not return.

This restaurant had been recommended by friends who share a love of seafood with my wife and I. We were not disappointed with their recommendation. From the cuttlefish appetizers through the thoughtfully prepared main courses, the meals were totally enjoyable. Even though the noise levels were a bit high, the attention we received from our waiter negated any complaints we might have had. Highly recommended!!

Visited for restaurant week, and was happy with the selections on the special menu. My companion ordered a salad and the smoked fish appetizer . I picked the oyster appetizer, split appetizer of delightful raspberry and pickle oysters. The petrale sole entry was done perfectly and the light, tomato pasta accompanient was tasty with a hint of spice. The light pinot grigio offered with dinner was delightful as well. Service was very attentive and the restaurant is divided into dining areas in such a way that promotes some more intimate corners with more wide open spaces. The menu is a bit pricey, but the variety of seafood appetizers and salads offers a number of options. One of the more complete and diverse seafood menus in the Valley.

First time visiting Cuttlefish and it will certainly be added to my list of favorites to come back to over and over again. The oysters on the 1/2 shell were marvelous. Excellent flavor, freshness and texture. The lobster ravioli was an excellent choice. And, if the appetizer and main dish are not enough, come for the desert. The tiramisu is spectacular. The service is attentive, warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.

When you expect the evening to be something else and then it changes. That's disappointing. We had made reservations and had intended to use special coupons we had purchased. We found out that they would not be honored during restaurant week and that was OK. Restaurant week's menu sounded good even though the price was more than what we would have spent using our coupon. The wine was disappointing for the price and the shrimp was under cooked. We still have to use our coupons so will go back for a second opinion.

Pork belly appetizer was delicious as was the panna cota dessert. Entree was lackluster - prawns overcooked and the ravioli was just ok. The service was friendly and efficient, our meals came out quickly. The restaurant was incredibly loud when we first arrived and by the time we left, it had quieted down, but it was hard to converse. I'm just not sure it was exciting or unique enough to go back when there are so many other great places to try.

The attention and welcoming atmosphere set cuttlefish above other restaurants. Unlike the previous tenant, McCormick and Schmick, the proprietors at Cuttlefish let you know that this is a not a big chain, they welcome you like family, serve food that is prepared with love and attention. The meal was excellent, service top notch, wine list great. I can't wait to go back. Happy hour is also 7 days a week until 7 pm and they have great food selections for that as well. I highly recommend.

We originally had reservation for 7 at 8:30 which turned into 17 and they could not have been more better. They had no problem changing our table to one in the bar area which is open to the rest of the restaurant and even added an extra table after other diners had left. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend

We dined there for AZ Restaurant Week with another couple and had a wonderful meal and great service. It's a bit loud and our table in the middle of the restaurant was a bit awkward, but the food and service outweighed the distractions. I had read that the wine list was pricey, but cocktails were $7.50, specialty drinks were $12 and wines by the glass were $8 - $15 or more, but that's average in Scottsdale. The prix-fixe dinner was $44 and offered a wonderful selection. Probably would not have ordered the desert usually but the Panacotta with Salted Carmel was TOOOOO good.

When we arrived, we had reservations, but we didn't need them. The restaurant was very empty. It was a Tuesday night at 7:15, and we were expecting a good crowd. It was disappointing to see the restaurant empty. Gino, the head waiter, made the evening quite enjoyable. The food was excellent, although the wine we wanted was not available. The Tuna Tartare from the Raw Bar was absolutely the bomb. We can't wait to go back. We would like to see more seafood on the menu, plus the pasta. The pasta was first class. We do not go to a seafood restaurant for anything but seafood, so you can take the steaks, chicken and other pedestrian food selections off the menu, it is not needed.

I made a reservation and were seated right away. Then me waited for 15 minutes to get our first drink. Am when someone did come over they were like are you ready to order. I asked for a drink menu and he was like we can make you anything. That was not what I asked. But we order drinks and then order a opener and a meal. The food was amazing. It was top notch. Before our main course was order our real waiter Gino. Came over apologized to us. They were really busy and short staff. He took really good care of us. He turned the night completely around. He was attentive and engaging. We would come back but only if we got Gino.

It is difficult for me to write an objective review of this restaurant. We have been wanting to try it for some time and made a reservation via open table for a week day night. They were having a dating service event that night and there were 100 people crowded into the dining/bar area. The noise and atmosphere were ridiculous. The waiter did his best to make this a better situation, but we really could not enjoy the food or have any kind of conversation. Open Table should have shown the restaurant to be closed for dinner. As it is now, it will be difficult for me to try Cuttlefish again.

Initially discovered the restaurant based on a review in the Arizona Republic and then went to their website to review the menus and wine list. Originally planned to do the Thursday night date night special but quickly changed our mind after reviewing the full menu. Gino Calabro did a superb job answering our questions, making recommendations and pairing wines with the food. We cannot say enough positive about the food! DO NOT leave the restaurant without having the gnocchi!

Great food. Pricey but we had a Living Social prixe fixe dinner for two deal so it was gentle on our wallet because of the coupon. Biggest problem is the noise level. It's a very loud place. But the staff was wonderful and very attentive. Our server, Gino, was a hoot. He's a terrific waiter.

This was our first visit and the very first impression was entering to an un-attend hostess stand. The hostess ran in behind us from outside, where she was obviously smoking because the odor trailed in with her and all the way too our table when she seated us. (This couldn't have been more un-appetizing.) Our waiter was great and the courses were very good. We ordered a creme brûlée but when it arrived the hard-shelled caramelized sugar top was anything but crisp, instead it was gummy and the entire dessert was warm (it should be server cold). After a couple of small bite it was abandoned.

We had an internet coupon to try the place. I didn't love how suddenly the price fixe menu was boiled down to VERY few options, and the only appetizers were raw, with NO substitutions. My husband's Rapini had a burt taste to it {HORRIBLE}, I loved the lobster ravioli, the oysters and carpaccio were OK, but I didn't really want to try raw. The wedge salad was yummy, but small. The singer was driving me insane by the time we left. We liked the idea of Cuttlefish, but I don't think we'll go back.

Used a Living Social coupon. Food was good, but not near the stated value of $182. More like $130. The menu for the deal was extremely limited. Appetizer was either oysters or beef carpaccio. Not everybody eats raw fish or beef. We eat oysters, so it was ok for us. The waiter didn't bother to tell us that we were given two types of oysters either. Instead of two shots of Limoncello they gave us a Mandarin Orange liquor. The problem with that is that my wife hates anything orange. Additionally, I had asked for cheese for my pasta and the waiter said that cheese would ruin the taste of the dish. Really? I grew up in an Italian household and we put Pecorino Romano on all our pastas. It enhances the taste of the pasta. Not worth a return visit.

Have to be honest and start by saying we only had oysters. That's all I can base the review on. That said, the oysters were what I expected, cold and fresh. A little bit of shell in a couple of them. Cocktail sauce was just...GROSS. Hands down worst I've ever had. Tasted like cheap thick tomato sauce. We had planned to stay for dinner, but there was NOTHING on the menu that either my husband or I wanted to try and this was our first time in! Nothing stuck out as promising and I was expecting seafood dishes at a place called Cuttlefish-I was surprised to see so much pasta. Oyster bar motorcycles were VERY cool and comfortable-cuts into seating though if you were with a big group. Server was nice, but stumbled over specialing us...

Nice renovation of the old Scottsdale McCormick and Schmick location, but the food is mediocre. I had the Halibut and it was two smaller pieces vs a filet, and overcooked. My friend had the Salmon and it was fair. Fishy. That and two undistinguished salads (no beverages, sides or desserts) and the bill was $90. Add "poor value" to the list. A real disappointment. They need to rethink their menu. The place was pretty empty--not suprisingly.

Cuttlefish is a beautiful looking restaurant that reimagined the space vacated by McCormick and Schmick's. I personally didn't care for the look of the raw bar with motorcycle seats but the restaurant itself is sleek and modern without seeming cold. The food we ordered was perfectly cooked and presented. I had the salmon that was served with capers and roman artichoke hearts. It was delicious and my husband has snapper that was served with a goat cheese and vegetable tart. We split an order of lighter than air gnocchi. The service provided by head waiter Gino was friendly and professional. This restaurant couldn't be better. One of the best in the Scottsdale area.

I'm really torn on Cuttlefish because I thought the food was actually very good! However, the portion sizes were very small for the price. For my $34 Lemon Prawns and Lobster Ravioli dish, I literally got 3-4 prawns (albeit, large prawns) and 3 ravioli, and that's it. The sides were also very small. This is unfortunate because, again, the food was actually pretty tasty. I recommend going on Thursday night when they have a "Date Night" menu and two people can eat for $49. That's a much better value that the money we paid on a Friday night. The restaurant itself has a great, open décor. I love that they have Vespa scooters at the bar to serve as bar stools. Very cute! Service was also good.
