The Date Lollipops I had for an appetizer were Outstanding! The ingredients combined in perfect harmony. I would get this again. One person had the Colossal Shrimp Cocktail and no one had seen shrimp that large in a very long time. They were delicious. The Braised Cuttlefish appetizer was enough for me as an entree. The sauce was outstanding, though I thought the cuttlefish were a little chewy. However since I never had them before, maybe that's how they're supposed to be. Everyone loved what they had - Parpardelle veal ragu - Lobster ravioli - Risotto alla Pescatore. Everyone took home their leftovers. The bread was a little crusty, which we loved and the service was excellent. What more could you want?

The first thing you see when you walk it is a raw bar with vespas parked as the seating. This takes up a lot of space and looks very out of place. The waiter we had was very aggressive and obtrusive, he was trying too hard and it came off as very obnoxious. I had a mojito and it was very strong but not very good. The food was beautiful and the sauces and sides were very tasty but the proteins were extremely disappointing. The pork belly appetizer was chewy and slightly tough. For the entrees the portion size of the cod was tiny, 4 oz for a $30? And if was overcooked. The short ribs were stringy and dry. I can make a pot roast at home that is far better. Overall it wasn't horrible, but not worth the money.

We brought guests from out of town. When the server passed by he was friendly, but always on his way somewhere else. We were looking for someone to take our drinks order, waiting for someone to take our order, waiting for someone to take a second drink order. They are happy to take special orders for glueten free, and did catch the error when the special order was not prepared properly, but we had to wait for the meal to be prepared and then the pasta was not done. The desserts provided to make amends were very good (gelato, tirimissu. were very good.

There is something on the menu for everyone. The table shared the crispy Cuttlelfish which were excellent. Everything from cod to braised short ribs got high reviews. Don't miss the gnochi - best I've ever had! The kitchen was extremely slow - don't know if this was a hiccup or common. We will definitely return.

Charming atmosphere & interesting decor. The bar seats are Italian motor scooters, Vespa's and the like. The service was good. The food was marginal at best. The clams with the Tagliolini were very tough - way over cooked. The tagliolini, on the other hand, were not even cooked to al dente. The Lobster Ravioli was forgettable. The comment at the table regarding the Cannoli was 'seems stale'. Too bad it was not a night to remember.

We celebrated a special occasion with dinner at Cuttlefish, beginning with a dozen of their superb oysters on the half shell--love the mignonette sauce which is seldom offered here in the Phoenix area. Salty and tasting of the sea, the oysters were plump and ultra-fresh. The lobster ravioli and the veal and beef ragu with pappardelle were both stellar entrees, and we enjoyed a goat cheese, spinach and mushroom tart as our side dish. I would order the tart again as a main if it were a bit larger! Ambience is always good and this time we enjoyed table service presided over by Tracy who was most attentive and accommodating with our requests. Occasionally we enjoy the oyster bar seating where Vespas have been repurposed as barstools--FUN!

We tried this restaurant using a Living Social fixed price dinner coupon. My appetizers of oysters came with a great citrus sauce. The salads were good but nothing exceptional. The lobster ravioli with shrimp and a "cuttlefish" ink was too sweet for my liking and the truffle gnocchi were over cooked and lacked favor. The Scillian cannoli was good but not great. And the live entertainment (a male singer) was a huge distraction. Too many good restaurants in Scottsdale to go back to this one despite its great location.

Food is very bland. The salad and gnocchi were very good beyond that the entrees (parpadelle with meat sauce and salmon were blah! The salmon, the fish it self had zero flavor. How does that happen with salmon. We also had 3 servers come by to tell us they would be serving us. 4 parties in the dining room and they don't know who will be our server. This restaurant is just so so. Would not return.

This restaurant had been recommended by friends who share a love of seafood with my wife and I. We were not disappointed with their recommendation. From the cuttlefish appetizers through the thoughtfully prepared main courses, the meals were totally enjoyable. Even though the noise levels were a bit high, the attention we received from our waiter negated any complaints we might have had. Highly recommended!!

Visited for restaurant week, and was happy with the selections on the special menu. My companion ordered a salad and the smoked fish appetizer . I picked the oyster appetizer, split appetizer of delightful raspberry and pickle oysters. The petrale sole entry was done perfectly and the light, tomato pasta accompanient was tasty with a hint of spice. The light pinot grigio offered with dinner was delightful as well. Service was very attentive and the restaurant is divided into dining areas in such a way that promotes some more intimate corners with more wide open spaces. The menu is a bit pricey, but the variety of seafood appetizers and salads offers a number of options. One of the more complete and diverse seafood menus in the Valley.

First time visiting Cuttlefish and it will certainly be added to my list of favorites to come back to over and over again. The oysters on the 1/2 shell were marvelous. Excellent flavor, freshness and texture. The lobster ravioli was an excellent choice. And, if the appetizer and main dish are not enough, come for the desert. The tiramisu is spectacular. The service is attentive, warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.

When you expect the evening to be something else and then it changes. That's disappointing. We had made reservations and had intended to use special coupons we had purchased. We found out that they would not be honored during restaurant week and that was OK. Restaurant week's menu sounded good even though the price was more than what we would have spent using our coupon. The wine was disappointing for the price and the shrimp was under cooked. We still have to use our coupons so will go back for a second opinion.

Pork belly appetizer was delicious as was the panna cota dessert. Entree was lackluster - prawns overcooked and the ravioli was just ok. The service was friendly and efficient, our meals came out quickly. The restaurant was incredibly loud when we first arrived and by the time we left, it had quieted down, but it was hard to converse. I'm just not sure it was exciting or unique enough to go back when there are so many other great places to try.

The attention and welcoming atmosphere set cuttlefish above other restaurants. Unlike the previous tenant, McCormick and Schmick, the proprietors at Cuttlefish let you know that this is a not a big chain, they welcome you like family, serve food that is prepared with love and attention. The meal was excellent, service top notch, wine list great. I can't wait to go back. Happy hour is also 7 days a week until 7 pm and they have great food selections for that as well. I highly recommend.

We dined there for AZ Restaurant Week with another couple and had a wonderful meal and great service. It's a bit loud and our table in the middle of the restaurant was a bit awkward, but the food and service outweighed the distractions. I had read that the wine list was pricey, but cocktails were $7.50, specialty drinks were $12 and wines by the glass were $8 - $15 or more, but that's average in Scottsdale. The prix-fixe dinner was $44 and offered a wonderful selection. Probably would not have ordered the desert usually but the Panacotta with Salted Carmel was TOOOOO good.

When we arrived, we had reservations, but we didn't need them. The restaurant was very empty. It was a Tuesday night at 7:15, and we were expecting a good crowd. It was disappointing to see the restaurant empty. Gino, the head waiter, made the evening quite enjoyable. The food was excellent, although the wine we wanted was not available. The Tuna Tartare from the Raw Bar was absolutely the bomb. We can't wait to go back. We would like to see more seafood on the menu, plus the pasta. The pasta was first class. We do not go to a seafood restaurant for anything but seafood, so you can take the steaks, chicken and other pedestrian food selections off the menu, it is not needed.

I asked for a drink menu and he was like we can make you anything. That was not what I asked. But we order drinks and then order a opener and a meal. The food was amazing. It was top notch. Before our main course was order our real waiter Gino. Came over apologized to us. They were really busy and short staff. He took really good care of us. He turned the night completely around. He was attentive and engaging. We would come back but only if we got Gino.

It is difficult for me to write an objective review of this restaurant. We have been wanting to try it for some time and made a reservation via open table for a week day night. They were having a dating service event that night and there were 100 people crowded into the dining/bar area. The noise and atmosphere were ridiculous. The waiter did his best to make this a better situation, but we really could not enjoy the food or have any kind of conversation. Open Table should have shown the restaurant to be closed for dinner. As it is now, it will be difficult for me to try Cuttlefish again.

Initially discovered the restaurant based on a review in the Arizona Republic and then went to their website to review the menus and wine list. Originally planned to do the Thursday night date night special but quickly changed our mind after reviewing the full menu. Gino Calabro did a superb job answering our questions, making recommendations and pairing wines with the food. We cannot say enough positive about the food! This was our first visit and the very first impression was entering to an un-attend hostess stand. The hostess ran in behind us from outside, where she was obviously smoking because the odor trailed in with her and all the way too our table when she seated us. (This couldn't have been more un-appetizing.) Our waiter was great and the courses were very good. We ordered a creme brûlée but when it arrived the hard-shelled caramelized sugar top was anything but crisp, instead it was gummy and the entire dessert was warm (it should be server cold). After a couple of small bite it was abandoned.

We had an internet coupon to try the place. I didn't love how suddenly the price fixe menu was boiled down to VERY few options, and the only appetizers were raw, with NO substitutions. My husband's Rapini had a burt taste to it {HORRIBLE}, I loved the lobster ravioli, the oysters and carpaccio were OK, but I didn't really want to try raw. The wedge salad was yummy, but small. The singer was driving me insane by the time we left. We liked the idea of Cuttlefish, but I don't think we'll go back.
