CUT Steakhouse offers a relaxed fine dining experience sure to please the most sophisticated of diners. Our menu's main attraction is the dry aged USDA prime beef, aged and butchered in-house by our own exacting specifications. Start your evening with a glass of award-winning wine or perhaps a popular Steak Ale. From our menu, savour a dry-aged New York Striploin, delicious Porterhouse, Kobe rib-eye or local filet mignon, all cooked to your specifications. Finish off with an amazing sampling of fine cheeses, a specialty liqueur and a decadent dessert. Downstairs, The Grill at CUT features a fun and funky atmosphere, perfectly paired with a gourmet burger menu with your choice of sophisticated toppings and sides.   • "Reservation was earlier than we would normally make due to the concert, so were the first diners to arrive. Strange walking into an empty dining room, but the staff make us feel right at home. Friendly, efficient and professional service throughout by the entire team; they seem to love their jobs and enjoy representing the restaurant. Found the discussion on the dry-aged beef a little lengthy, but perhaps just because I've heard it all before elsewhere. Steak was perfectly done and flavourful. The tomato-based sauce saved the quinoa croquettes (think falafel). The steamed asparagus was a little overdone and didn't need the Hollandaise sauce - a little butter and pepper or herbs would have been fine. Wine list tends to the $$$ side."

  • "Cut has a great ambiance and wonderful service staff. The cocktail list is mediocre at best and relays on trendy gins rather than focus on solid classic cocktails. I ordered a Perfect Manhattan made with Makers Mark and my partner ordered a Vodka Martini. Both Of these beverages had no taste and were "watery". For a great cocktail list and properly made cocktails, see Bar Isabel in Toronto. The only food item that was "ok" was the Foie Gras. The oysters were questionably fresh, the Jumbo Shrimp were a little dry and the tuna was underwhelming. The 28oz. Rib Steak was tough and grainy which I feel was a result of improper cooking technique. Sides all had "Indian" flavour influences which do not fit the Ultra Steakhouse feel."

Even Nicholas, the gentleman who prepared our salad was friendly. Special thanks to Steve for chasing us down the street to return my moms eyeglass cleaning cloth that she had forgotten. :D Thank you all for a night to remember. We cannot wait to return!"

  • "My wife was promoted at her work so we thought we would dine there in celebration as a family. The online booking tool made reservations extremely easy! I called to confirm my booking and the staff was extremely friendly and I felt the welcoming already! When we arrived there was no fuss seating we were shown right to or seats and taken very well care of throughout the meal. We had brought 2 younger children and the staff went right out of their way to assure they were also taken care of. When we left the greeter gave each of our boys a parting gift of banana bread! Which our boys were very excited about:) we enjoyed our visit and would most definitely visit again!"

  • "Once we arrived at Cuts, the staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. We have dined there twice, the first being a very special occasion, and the second to celebrate an anniversary. The head waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly, it really made us feel very special, and at ease. My wife had ordered a drink and found that it was too bitter for her liking, but the Head Waiter working with your Bartender figured out a solution, and it now it is her favourite drink at home. If you love steak, wine, and being treated like a VIP, we would recommend Cuts for a fantastic dining experience."

The service was quick and prompt, the servers found a way to make sure we were constantly content but without bothering us, which is a delicate balance to properly do. Every single dish we had was amazing! I would recommend the quinoa croquettes and the tempura onion rings to compliment some amazing garlic mashed and vichy-style carrots! This was my first time at Cut, and I will definitely be back!"

  • "Let me start by saying the food was FANTASTIC! Our only issue was that both the restaurant's website and OpenTable description mentioned filet mignon - the reason we went to this place. On arrival, there were many different types and cuts of beef (American, Canadian, Waygu - strip, ribeye, tenderloin, etc). However, no filet in sight - maybe it is a special or seasonal? However, the seasonal salad was delicious, the truffle potatoes were outstanding, the farmers market vegetables - we had squash - was fantastic, and the carrot cake was good (not as good as a previous night's carrot cake but still up there). And the steaks were delcious! We had two types of strips (American and local Canadian) to compare. Overall very good!"

  • "Overpriced - food was decent, server was polite, atmosphere was very good. Everything was ok - that was about all I can say - none of the food stood out. I would not recommend this place if someone were looking for a nice restaraunt - not to say it was bad but food is much better in the other dining places in halifax that are in roughly the same price range.......in fact the ones that are cheaper have better food - if i spend 190 I expect the food to be much better. For the same thin you can spend closer to 150ish and the quality is far superior to the Cut as far as the food goes. The atmosphere is nice though."
