A word from CUT by Wolfgang Puck at The Beverly Wilshire
There is strength in numbers and the June 2006 opening of Southern California’s most anticipated restaurant in years – CUT and ultra lounge – sidebar, the triad of master chef Wolfgang Puck, renowned architect Richard Meier and the acclaimed Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, became the most excited and talked-about restaurant and lounge threesome in the 21st century. A chic spot in the heart of Beverly Hills, CUT has become the place to see and be seen and has garnered high praise from prestigious outlets including the Los Angeles Times (Three Stars), Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator, and was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” by noted food critic John Mariani in Esquire magazine. In 2007, CUT was nominated for "Best New Restaurant" by the James Beard Foundation, considered one of the highest marks of distinction within the culinary community. CUT is the recipient of one star in the prestigious Michelin Guide, 2008 and 2009 Los Angeles editions. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Great experience. One of the Best steaks. The quality is the best of the best."

  • "As good a steak as you will find in Los Angeles, served in a hip setting. Service and attention to detail are first class, as they should be at this price level. An outstanding experience."

  • "we love this restaurant. it was an off night this time though. our friend's steak was overcooked. it took over an hour to get the appetizers. they were out of the dover sole (this has happened three out of the last four times we have been there - why even have it on the menu?). that said, it is a fantastic restaurant. they did everything they could to make up for a fairly inconsistent evening. they gave us complimentary desserts and a comp steak for our friend. regardless, it should have been smoother and they shouldn't be consistently out of one of the few non-steak items that they have on their great menu. we will go again and hope that it's much better the next time."

  • "My mom, girlfriend and I dined here at 7:30pm Saturday evening July 5th. Our waiter, Eric, was friendly and informative. And the General Manager, Rikka, went above and beyond to make our dining experience excellent. The food quality was as excellent as the service."

  • "CUT has never failed to provide an truly excellent dining experience. Although pricey it is simply excellent. My only gripe is the continued "checking in" by the staff. At one point I was interrupted 3 times in less than 5 min while enjoying my wife's company. This however does not change the fact that the food is EXCELLENT and the staff is knowledgeable and polite."

  • "We've been to CUT before but this time we had a better experience. The pork belly and bone marrow were good. Our mac & cheese with jalapeno was just right. Our steaks were grilled perfectly and the service was excellent. We were well attended even though the restaurant was full. We really enjoyed not only our dinner but the service."

  • "This place is always delicious! You absolutely cannot go wrong eating here!"

  • "My husband and I went for our 5 year anniversary. Our server was awesome. He had read the notes on my reservation saying it was our anniversary and that I cannot have dairy (which is a major bummer because there is so much amazing stuff I had to steer clear of!). The food was great and we really felt it was an amazing dining experience."

  • "This is a overhyped steakhouse. Food was average. Wait was very long even after we had a reservation. Once seated, service was fine."

  • "We went for my husband's birthday. We'd heard it was one of the best steakhouses in LA. Food quality is very important to us, and we'd seen on the menu they posted online that they had grassfed steaks. When we got there, the dining room was noisy and cafeteria-like. The service was harried and inconsistent. We both have food allergies that we informed them about ahead of time, and they brought us food with our allergens twice. The cocktail menu was OK, but not exactly innovative. They were out of the grassfed steaks (we wouldn't have gone if we'd known that). My husband got steak anyway, which was fine, not amazing. I had salmon which was bland and had clearly not been fully defrosted before cooking. After that, we didn't stay for dessert."

  • "What decent chef would encase prime steak, or any steak for that matter, in a salt crust? My advice is to buy steak at Gelsons and B-B-Q it yourself because there is no point spending money on a tender steak at Cut when all you can taste is salt. Two thumbs down. Rick"

  • "Came here with my girlfriend for my birthday. The waiter was already up to speed with the note that I left in the OpenTable reservation regarding certain allergies, and he continued to be attentive and accommodating regarding our restrictions. Additionally, the vibe at CUT was much, much better than the other steakhouses in Los Angeles: not as crowded as Mastro's (better steak than Mastro's too), and certainly not as clubby as STK and Boa. Food: Illinois Bone In Rib Eye - Excellent Oregon Grass Fed Filet Mignon - Very good, not as good as the Rib Eye Roasted Fingerling Potatoes - Excellent, chunks of bacon were delicious Asparagus with Mushrooms - Very good"

  • "very expensive for what you get. steak was not hot"

  • "What I liked: The Japanese and American Wagyu both had great texture and flavor. The maple-glazed pork belly had good flavor. There were 6 types of bread. What I disliked: The service from our waitress was very slow. The sides dishes were plain, overcooked, and nothing special. The bone marrow flan flavor was overwhelmed by diluting it with egg, mushsroom, Italian parsley, and red onion."

  • "Absolutely a great place, the meat was outstanding, service perfect!"
    Dined on 6/5/2014
  • "The food was outstanding, as usual for CUT. Service was surprisingly lacking however. We had an assistant waiter that was extremely attentive re: water glasses, or bread. But the waiter himself was aloof, slow to take our order, slow to bring drinks and inattentive. We've had such positive experiences before at CUT that this one was probably an outlier. Still a bit disappointing."

  • "My friend Stacy commented that this was her best meal ever... And more importantly that "a Wolfgang Puck dining experience was a bucket list event!!""

  • "I anticipated going to CUT for sometime now. Although the food and service was great, the ambience was very disappointing. "
    Dined on 5/30/2014

  • "Cut is simply just delicious. This isnt just a regular steakhouse, be prepared to open your wallet. However, WELL worth it. The only downfall was the music in the restaurant and the bar across the hall getting mixed together. "
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "It was over priced and not great. Our steaks were over cooked and it took a long time to get the food and none of it was that good. The size of the steak was small as well. I'm very shocked and disappointed I would not go back. The staff were very nice but not worth $400. We will go back to Wolfgang steak house much better than Cut!! :( :("

  • "We loved our meal at this well known venue. Great selection of beef cooked to perfection and servers were very attentive. It was fun to watch well-heeled diners arrive. It is expensive, so we will reserve it for very special occasions and we WILL be back!"

  • "One of my favorite restaurants of all time. Great staff. AMAZING FOOD. Fancy and chic yet welcoming and friendly."

  • "If you love steak and fine dining you'll love this restaurant. Everything I've tasted there was delicious! The waiters and servers were very attentive and knowledgable about the menu, overall very pleasant. The only negative experience I had coming to this restaurant ever was from my recent visit with the hostess. We were 20 minutes late because of traffic and also the valet line outside was backed up so we spent 15 minutes trying to get into the gate for valet! She had a serious attitude and said "best I can do is seat you now but you'll have to give the table back in 1.5 hours". It puts people off when they're spending $400 on a dinner and the hostess is RUDE like that. Plus the restaurant was not full even when we left."

  • " After waiting 30 minutes for our table, we received 2 complimentary appetizers for our patience. We had a wonderful wait staff. We were advised of our steak selection and took the waiters advice and were glad we did. Even though we had absolutely no room for dessert, we ordered it anyway and the desserts were also complementary. We were traveling from Pennsylvania and made reservations weeks ahead. We were going to wait for our table regardless of the wait time. We appreciated the gestures. "

  • "Incredible experience. I wish I could have had the Bone Marrow appetizer for breakfast too! The Wagyu and Lobster were perfectly cooked and were accompanied with fantastic flavour enhancers and compliments - from the wine to the black truffle sauce. - everything was amazing!"

  • "Everything perfectly performed Food , wine and service "

  • "The food was fabulous and the server was very attentive even though it was very busy. My only negative is that it was a bit too dark to really see the food well. Yummy and fun!"

  • "Slow service. Good tasting food. Poor ambience. Very noisy. Costs are huge. You get very little for your money. Not as good as Mastros."

  • "Exceptional!!! Expensive - BUT WORTH IT!!!! Had read that it had been rated the top Steakhouse in the US - and having eaten at now 8 of the top 10 - I would agree! "

  • "CUT has excellent steaks, cooked to perfection in an elegant setting. The service is impeccable, reminding you of the high-end European restaurants"

  • "This was my first meal at CUT, for a special occasion with my co-workers, and we all had a beautiful meal. The space is gorgeous, and even with a full house, it's still possible to have a conversation. The service was warm and friendly, while still managing to feel a bit elegant. I especially loved the burrata salad, the petite cut of the dry-aged New York (paired with a great Barolo and the armagnac & green peppercorn sauce), the wild field mushrooms, and the tempura onion rings - especially the tempura onion rings! I'd come back here again, even if it was just for a small, simple meal with a cocktail or two - they make a great Manhattan."

  • "Excellent service but the bone-in fillet was too fatty and not tender enough. The lamb chops were outstanding and the service was incredible. "
    Dined on 4/26/2014
  • "Decor is too stark and severe for this wonderful and imaginative variation on the 'ordinary' steakhouse. Loved it!"
    Dined on 4/18/2014
  • "I thought the appetizers were so so. It did not impress me. Steak was great but the plate was not hot when it arrived. Overall I thought it was overpriced for what it was. I would come back but it's not at the top of my list."

  • "We were at Cut on the occasion of my husband's birthday. All of the staff were very attentive, yet not over bearing. We never felt rushed. The food was excellent. My steak was devine! The appetizer was beautifully plated and tasted as great as it looked!"

  • "We were a party of 3 on Wednesday night. At the end of the evening we ordered a latte & cappuccino. The server brought 2 lattes instead .My friend told her she did not order a latte and server replied with"it's the same thing , I can add more foam" my friend told her "it is not the same but i will keep it and It's not what i ordered". The server showed her frustration and grabbed the cup and told her she will replace it and stormed off.. Anyone knows a latte & cappuccino Are not the same Hence the different name.. Even if it is.. You should never argue with a regular customer over the difference of a latte and cappuccino that has a bill of 1200$ .. Unbelievable ! Will not be returning . This is my second disappointment at cut in a month."

  • "We wanted to try cut in bev. Hills since our experience at cut in Vegas was phenomenal!! The service in Vegas was stellar!! Everyone had a specific duty and it was just flowing and the team was so nsync. It was unbelievable, by far the best service my fiancée and I have ever experienced. However the service in bev. Hills was nothing special. It took so long to get our drinks, snacks and bread. It was also my fiancées birthday and I stated that on my reservation but they did not even say happy birthday to him at the restaurant. When we want cut we will wait til were in Vegas. We will never return to the one in bev. Hills. With this restaurant being in an area like bev. Hills inside the bev. Wilshire hotel we expected so so much more."
