A word from CUT by Wolfgang Puck at The Beverly Wilshire
There is strength in numbers and the June 2006 opening of Southern California’s most anticipated restaurant in years – CUT and ultra lounge – sidebar, the triad of master chef Wolfgang Puck, renowned architect Richard Meier and the acclaimed Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, became the most excited and talked-about restaurant and lounge threesome in the 21st century. A chic spot in the heart of Beverly Hills, CUT has become the place to see and be seen and has garnered high praise from prestigious outlets including the Los Angeles Times (Three Stars), Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator, and was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” by noted food critic John Mariani in Esquire magazine. In 2007, CUT was nominated for "Best New Restaurant" by the James Beard Foundation, considered one of the highest marks of distinction within the culinary community. CUT is the recipient of one star in the prestigious Michelin Guide, 2008 and 2009 Los Angeles editions. Continued

  • "We were at Cut on the occasion of my husband's birthday. All of the staff were very attentive, yet not over bearing. We never felt rushed. The food was excellent. My steak was devine! The appetizer was beautifully plated and tasted as great as it looked!"

  • "We were a party of 3 on Wednesday night. At the end of the evening we ordered a latte & cappuccino. The server brought 2 lattes instead .My friend told her she did not order a latte and server replied with"it's the same thing , I can add more foam" my friend told her "it is not the same but i will keep it and It's not what i ordered". The server showed her frustration and grabbed the cup and told her she will replace it and stormed off.. Anyone knows a latte & cappuccino Are not the same Hence the different name.. Even if it is.. You should never argue with a regular customer over the difference of a latte and cappuccino that has a bill of 1200$ .. Unbelievable ! Will not be returning . This is my second disappointment at cut in a month."

  • "Good quality steak with lots of variety. Waitress was a bit on the over eager side. In addition, rather than being orchestrated, the wait staff was a mish mash of people annoying you while trying to have conversation. Other than that, food and wine was excellent."

  • "We wanted to try cut in bev. Hills since our experience at cut in Vegas was phenomenal!! The service in Vegas was stellar!! Everyone had a specific duty and it was just flowing and the team was so nsync. It was unbelievable, by far the best service my fiancée and I have ever experienced. However the service in bev. Hills was nothing special. It took so long to get our drinks, snacks and bread. It was also my fiancées birthday and I stated that on my reservation but they did not even say happy birthday to him at the restaurant. When we want cut we will wait til were in Vegas. We will never return to the one in bev. Hills. With this restaurant being in an area like bev. Hills inside the bev. Wilshire hotel we expected so so much more."

  • "Best steak I've ever had and Wolfgang puck himself came out and greeted us. Very special night."

  • "Great selection of steaks including grades of American and Japanese Wagu, aged and grass fed steaks. Nice variety of appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Service was just right - attentive but not over bearing. Wolfgang Puck frequents the kitchen and came around to great all the customers. Lively atmosphere and interesting pop art work throughout."

  • "I went to Cut because an internet review had it as the second best steak house in LA. We ordered the Sampler. It was slightly cold and lacking the taste. I have been to many other steak houses and this was worst experience i have ever had. It was by far the most overpriced meal for the value i have ever received."

  • "OK. Something needs to be done with the muzak here. All bad 80's top 40 songs in one distracting loop. Steaks are decent. though no where near Mastros/Ruth Chris' quality and much more expensive. The only green salad (no, not a caesar OR a wedge) is some avocado affair - for $19??!!!! Really? Why not go all the way and charge $25 for your simple green salad? Our bill was padded with two cocktails we didn't order. When I asked for an after dinner Armagnac, I got a TINY pour of something that costs $54 (and was not told before hand). So, if you light your cubans with $100 bills, go for it. For me, I found the prices downright rude."

  • "I chose this restaurant for my partner's 50th birthday. It was an all-around amazing experience and we would highly recommend it!"

  • "I loved the steak here - cooked to perfection. Oh and there were other things on the menu that were also very good, but I can't forget the steak. Great ambience, fantastic service. Even had the great fortune and privilege of meeting Wolfgang himself, who was extremely generous gentleman."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Some of the non-steak options are truly gems!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant several times. My experiences have varied. In my most recent experience, the food was outstanding and the service was average. The night before, we ate in the bar and the atmosphere was not only too loud and too dark but the food was awful. That was the first time I had ever experienced anything but outstanding food at CUT. I am hopijng it was an anomoly. I am still giving five stars for the food because I do believe it was a one time deal. I am unhappy with the inconsistency though."

  • "Service very attentive. Appetizers, Mac & Cheese excellent. Steaks tougher than expected for American Waygu & 35 day aged."

  • "We went for my partners birthday (just the 2 of us). Incomparable service: friendly, sophisticated, expert and perfectly attentaive, Every course - we had an appetizer, salad, steaks, and Baked Alaska - was just overwhelmingly delicious. It was a rare perfect evening out. It was also the most expensive restaurant meal I've ever had, and I've been to many high end venues, but this meal, with the fab service (they treat everyone the same : Joe Shmo and Tome Cruise, no diference).was completely worth it. For a special occasion this is the place to go in LA, especially for canivores!! The food was PERFECTLY prepared."

  • "The food was absolutely amazing! We started off with the Tuna Tartar and the Maple Glazed Pork Belly. Not a single complaint or bit of food left on those plates! Everyone at the table (Party of 4) had the "New York Taster" for an entree. It was a tasting of Japanese Waygu, American Waygu, and 35 day aged USDA Prime. The sides were quite tasty, the Yukon gold potatoes and the mushrooms were delicious, the mac and cheese was to die for but the creamed spinach didn't live up to the hype. Desserts were also very very good, we went with the Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Souffle, and the Oatmeal crumble, all devoured within minutes. The restaurant is loud so don't expect a quite romantic evening."

  • "I had high expectations, but the steak itself was just ok. Side dishes were delicious. Service was awesome. Great desserts too. Not sure if it was worth it for the steak though. May give it one more shot."

  • "Cut is a resturant which is a cut above the rest.. Besides the food - its the team at cut which makes it such a amazing experience. Michelin 6 stars ;) !!!"

  • "Cut has 1 of the best steaks I've ever had., I wont be back. Food mostly great. Spinach not good told them they didnt remove it from the bill. 2 us & we ordered 3 sides. they should have.. The food was good, 45 day aged Ribeye, scallops, pork belly, mac&cheese cauliflower and desert. Cons CUT a $50 corkage this is obscene and outrageous. overpriced salads almost $20, sides $13 to $20. Maybe Im crazy but dinner for 2 with a modest cab was almost $400. That is excessive. CUT used to be packed, we were there from 6 - 9 on a Friday night & not once was the restaurant full. We made our reservation the same day. service good except waiter pushed hard on the most expensive things Dollar for dollar Mastros is excellent and a much better value."

  • "We had early reservations on Sat. night (5:30). We were met by Wolfgang Puck as we walked from the lounge into the restaurant! My boys (18 and 22) were floored! He talked to us for several minutes, learning that my oldest son is going in the Navy (the reason for our visit). Our waiter was knowledgeable about the food (I wish I could remember his name - we did talk about him being French). Everyone there was friendly and helpful, recommending delicious dishes that we enjoyed immensely. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, wonderful atmosphere and fantastic experience."

  • "The food is terrific at Cut. As you would expect, steaks are pricey but worth it. Sides, appetizers, desserts were wonderful. Service was good but it took longer than expected to get our food. Hostess station was irritating in enforcing a "you can't sit down until everyone in your party is here" policy which is ridiculous for a restaurant of this stature (never ran into this at any other Puck restaurant). I probably am getting old, but background music was loud ( and a bit odd it that it was 70's rock & roll which I love, but not as background at a very fancy restaurant)"

  • "We came here to celebrate my birthday and the restaurant staff made my entire party feel happy to have chosen this restaurant. Wolfgang Puck was working in the restaurant the night we went, and he came over to our table to check on us and wish me a happy birthday making it very special. We ordered the Japanese Waygu steaks and they were amazing. I would definitely recommend anyone who comes here to order it. Overall this is a great place to come especially if you're celebrating something they have great food and ambiance."

  • "Ambiance and good wait staff BUT, if you like good food and dry aged rib eye--DO NOT GO TO CUT. We love a good dry-aged rib eye because we enjoy marbling in the meat with flavor and it being a tender cut. Sadly, Cut did not deliver. The steak was cooked to order (medium rare), BUT our rib eye was horrible: no flavor and tough (to cut AND chew); we actually knew we weren't going to like the steak when we first cut into it. Even the chunk of fat lacked flavor. For appetizer, we got the crab and shrimp dish: too much mayo and it was bland. We got 3 sides: brusell sprouts, mushrooms, & spinach (aka green goop). ALL disappointing. We were so excited to eat here and celebrate our anniversary. Too bad the food was not up to par."

  • "CUT is a unique steakhouse experience with great food and exceptional service. It's a one of a kind experience because the prices are extremely high. It's worth it to save the visit for that special occasion."

  • "For a restaurant of this stature, and this expensive, the meat should be spectacular. My 10 0z. New York was cooked perfectly, and the flavor excellent, but was gristly in places, although not completely. The other guests at my table said their meat was excellent, so maybe I just got unlucky? Service was excellent. Pretty noisy, especially for a Wednesday nite. Be prepared to spend a lot of bucks here. Worth the bucks? Hard to say."

  • "I'm sure I will not be back here again on Valentines day. Reserved a table for two at 9:15pm and did not get my table until 10:09. Sat down, servers were helpful and friendly but the food was on par, not as good as I though it would be, and it took forever to get our main course. Tables who sat down after my girlfriend and I was served their food first before we were, which made me quite livid. I'm sure not to come here again on a holiday night. I will give this place another chance on a hopefully lot less packed night."

  • "The Japanese Wagyu was amazing. A great sear and simple seasoning matched great with the melt in your mouth steak. The brussel sprouts were boring whole the glazed winter root vegetables were good. The bread being offered to start the evening tasted fine, but would have been better if the bread was warm. Oh yeah, not to forget the drinks, the two cocktails we had were very balanced in all of their flavorings."

  • "We went on Valentines Day. They had a special menu for the day and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent, the drinks from the bar were superb, and the food was amazing! My wife chose the wine pairing and she said they were absolutely perfect choices. We will return on a non holiday to try the full menu."

  • "We chose to visit Cut for their authentic Japanese Wagyu beef, and we couldn't have been happier. The steaks were fantastic, and we really enjoyed the sides. The wine was delicious and fairly priced. Our server brought out a couple of courtesy items from the chef that were a wonderful addition to the meal. Service was very polite, informative and attentive. We will definitely recommend Cut for a first-rate experience."

  • "We ordered bone marrow flan and pork belly. Bonne marrow flan was excellent and pork belly was good except the meat was little dry. I had American wagu ribeye and my husband had bone in ribeye with wild mushroom with pepper and Brussel sprouts. Side dishes were great but steak was disappointing. My wagu was chewy and bone in ribeye wasn't very impressive either. To be honest, I had better steak at master's and morton's. Our bill came out to around $350 including tip. I went and tried and most likely won't be going back."

  • "I really enjoyed my dinner here. I tried the True Japanese Wagyu ribeye but personally I liked the snake river farms best. The wine list was fantastic and the breads were incredible. Overall this place offers a very high quality dining experience."

  • "Being that this is a steakhouse restaurant the steaks were not what we expected. My husband ordered the rib eye and my daughter ordered the filet they both asked for medium but when they were served they were charred so much so on the outside they looked beyond well done. The inside was more medium rare than medium but due to the extreme char they were hard to eat. They were not what we expected. My lobster was delicious as were my sons scallops. The appetizers, shrimp and crab cocktail and tuna tar tar, were exceptional. I ordered a cocktail with the name hello kitty which was also delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive until we had our entrees then we didnt see her for 45 min. Overall very pricey not what we expected."

  • "We enjoyed out tasting menu for dinner but I think we expected a little more from the food since it was such a premier restaurant. We did enjoy the appetizer we had which was the scallop ceviche , that was our favorite dish of the meal. Unfortunately for that night they did not have the black cod so the substitute fish to us was tasty but we are sure the black cod would have been better. Our server, Rachel, was absolutely wonderful. She was helpful, friendly and attentive and made our evening very pleasant. ."

  • "I am a foodie. I love Chinois and Spago, though they are quite pricey. But the food is very good, often spectacular, and the rooms are interesting to dine in and the preparations often quite imaginative. CUT disapoints, however. Food is good, no doubt, but not special in any way, and for these prices, it should be. The music soundtrack was ridiculously loud. And the room was not at all "interesting", and with Puck restaurants I always look forward to an interesting design as well as fine food."
