Outstanding view of the La Jolla coast and be there for the sunset. I had the pork belly appetizer for the first time and tasted first hand what the raves are all about. Wow! Multi-layers of flavor. Loved it. The Papparadelle pasta with fennel sausage makes my mouth water just recalling the flavors of the dish. Our server, Dennis, was excellent. No wonder the Cusp is so highly recommended.

This was our first time at Cusp. We loved it! We requested a table with a great view and we were right by the window where we could watch the beautiful La Jolla sunset from the 11th floor. Our server was great! The wine was half off for a bottle and the one he recommended was wonderful. The food was great from starters to entrees to dessert. We have already told others about Cusp and we will be back. We also would like to stay sometime since we love Kimpton Hotels and we are Kimpton Reward members.

I'm pretty dissapointed we spent our one evening on dinner at CUSP. The view was great, service ok, but food really dissapointing. I think between the two of us we ordered 6 different items, and one of them I would eat again. Cauliflower gratin was cauliflower not fully cooked with cheese melted on top. Gnochi was tasteless. We had reservations at Whisknladle, and decided to cancel and just go here since we were staying at the hotel. Major bad decision. The flat bread did not come as advertised and should have been baked at least another 5 minutes. Also not impressed with the wine list. This seems to be a great place to take in the view and grab a drink, just not have a great dinner.

Used a TravelZoo coupon for "2 entrees, fruit salad to share, and bottomless mimosas" for brunch. Entrees were fine, but the fruit salad was not the one listed on the menu, and consisted of a sad plate of wilted and dried out sliced fruit (a few strawberries, a couple small slices of melon, and almost petrified pineapple). I would be embarrassed to serve something like this to customers. Watery mimosas with less-than fresh orange juice. Will not come here again.

The decor is trendy and the view is fantastic. Great anytime, lunch, sunset dinners. The bar is good sized with a great view also. Highly recommend for happy hour. Valet parking is almost a requirement, but it's only $3 when you have your valet ticket validated at the restaurant, well worth the trouble of parking.

The restaurant itself has a beautiful ambience however when we sat down the table was wet and the cup they used to serve me coffee was dirty as was the fork. If a restaurant isn't clean at the table, one can only imagine what is going on in the kitchen. We will not be coming back.

Went to Cusp for brunch with a friend. We were impressed with the view of La Jolla Shores. All the tables are positioned to enjoy the vista. We both found something interesting on the menu to try. We were pleasantly surprised when the meal was served - both plates were just the right size for a single meal! Yea! Tired of paying for food I can't finish, carrying home half eaten meals, then leaving them in the car, etc. Food was delicious and the wait staff was quick to notice when we needed something, yet very polite about not interrupting our conversation.

My husband and I dined at Cusp for our first wedding anniversary. The view was beautiful, exactly what I was looking for in a restaurant for our special occasion. The food was good, and the complimentary dessert and champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary was a wonderful touch. What impressed me most, however, was the service. Considering the restaurant is in La Jolla, I admit I had some reservations about encountering service with an attitude. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find everyone we met was down to earth and eager to please. I would definitely dine here again and recommend it to a friend. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner memorable!

Quite often hotel restaurants are a disappointment, not so Cusp. Delicious food, excellent service, and gorgeous views! Very romantic two-top which I normally object to except we were right in front of the floor to ceiling windows for the sunset - perfect. The food - wonderful. From the adorable, little swanky hotel the restaurant is located in to the amazing view upon entering the restaurant and then on to the excellent food, Cusp has it all! Perfect date spot as all of the two person tables are lined along the window facing the gorgeous ocean view. I will definitely be returning!

Came in for my moms birthday. Had to see the scenery with my own eyes. Came in 2 hours before sunset. Awesome view, everyday is a different sunset. Wasn't busy/pack until 8pm. Love every meal. Had the lamb burger, the sweet sauce really covered the taste in your mouth. Pork belly appetizer was incredible, similar filipino dish but never the siracha would really top it off. The rest of family had pasta, chicken, steak. Would definetly come back for group activity.

I was first attracted to Cusp because I could get 1000 Open Table points by going there for an early meal. It was smart on their part, because I've been back and shared the word with many friends that this is one great restaurant! They've got it all: great food with a wide enough variety to interest many palates, fantastic drinks—whether wine or cocktails, delicious desserts, attentive but not cloying staff, and a fantastic view of the Pacific.

The staff was very attentive (almost too much) and the ambiance was nice as the restaurant wasn't overly busy until we were leaving. They went out of their way to make us feel special by leaving us a card for our anniversary. Overall a very special experience and I have already recommended them to friends.

The views are fantastic if you score a window table (party of 2). The food ranges from ok to very good which is a shame because the lack of consistency prevents giving this a better score. In general, Kimpton notes have outstanding dining experiences ... we found this one lacking.

My friend bought the Travelzoo deal for brunch for 4. We made a reservation for Sunday at 12pm on OpenTable. We arrived to Cusp to see a couple waiting at the hostess stand. I'm not sure how long they were waiting there but no one acknowledged the growing line at the front of the restaurant for at least 15 minutes. The manager walked by a few times but never went up to the line to assist anyone. Finally, after 20 minutes, the manager said "We'll be with you soon." By then, the line had grown to 5 different parties. No apologies and no direction on what we were supposed to do to get seated. People started taking matters into their own hands and just seating themselves in the dining room. We were seated 30 minutes after our res time.

The kitchen at Cusp doesn't need to be as good as it is-- The restaurant has a fantastic view of La Jolla Cove... The service is excellent... The decor unique without trying too hard-- but it *is* that good. Everything that was delivered to the table-- from the fresh ceviche to the mindblowing tomatoes & burrata (unlike any tomatoes and burrata I've seen) to easily the best pappardelle bolognese I've ever had-- was exceptional. And the bar isn't fooling around either. I enjoyed four different craft cocktails throughout the course of the evening (and sampled some of my cohorts') and each was better than the last. I was expecting decent food and drinks and a great view. What I got was one of the finest meals I've had recently. Don't delay.

A pleasant enough experience with nice views of the Pacific. Hot room with west facing windows, shades helped with temperature. Need more air In the room. For appetizers, the ceviche was delightful. The toasted quinoa with hamachi was actually the best dish we had all night. Service was good however, this place cannot cook fish. Sea Bass was horribly overdone. We sent back and replacement dish was slightly better but still horribly over cooked. The halibut was so overlooked it resembled chicken however the seasonings made it almost acceptable. For desert, we split the crust less cheesecake with blueberries three ways. Also very acceptable. The downsides outweighed the upsides though, so we will not be back.

The server forgot something we ordered and it made our night! I think it's ridiculous to expect a restaurant staff to be perfect, friendly and nice on the other hand should absolutely be expected. The staff at Cusp were amazing, they greeted us like we were regulars, put up with our thousand questions, handled the no dairy or I die request and entertained us throughout the night. Management was pitching in and running the floor (why doesn't that happen everywhere?) and I loved the kitchen open and in the center of the place. Thank you Cusp, you made my mother birthday a special night!
