It seems they lost our reservation from Open Table but gave us a table anyway. The food and service was very nice. We would go there again. It is located in a strip mall, so it's not a place that would capture your attention as you walked or drove by. They have all the usual selections. I had Chicken Tiki Masala - a favorite of mine. It was as good as my favorite Indian restaurant -- maybe this will rank up as one of my favorites too

service was fabulous which makes me think that is why the restaurant has so many great reviews. I love Indian food and I know the food can be heavy. In Curry Mantra food was disappointing and heavier than normal. Everyone there server and manager, both want to sell you the most dishes, drinks and such so that the bill goes up.

This was my second visit. The servers remained pleasant and efficient; however, the food was disappointing. Both the mixed grill and the chicken tikka were dry and overcooked. The complimentary birthday dessert was appreciated. Curry Mantra is expanding their dining room...a serious effort in the kitchen will be necessary to upgrade the quality and consistency of the food to meet the demand.

This has become our only Indian restaurant in the Fairfax area. I especially like that I can suggest the particular spiciness of a dish and get that exactly -- not toned down for "American" tastebuds.

Though we do like the occasional trip to an Indian restaurant with a nonstandard cuisine (Rasika, for instance), Curry Mantra simply can't be beat for the heart of Indian cuisine. And after a careful dialogue about the degree of heat we favor (four on a scale of five), our meals were prepared exactly as discussed.
