"I took some business associates there for lunch for the first time and was slightly dismayed at the appearance of the restaurant. It looked old and dingy. Service was attentive, which helped make up for it, and food was good. I made a reservation through Open Table and due to poor judgement of timing of a business meeting on my part arrived almost an hour early. They were very quick to accommodate and seated us right away. Portion size was quite large for lunch and price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to go back there with friends or even business associates whom I know well. My first reaction to the "old world" feel of the place had more to do with the fact that this was my first time taking my companions to a meal."

"With the present Wacker Drive reconstruction project, it takes a little maneuvering to get here, but Currents is worth it! The new menu offers some great new tastes, while still maintaining the old favorites (beer cheese soup, North/South fries). This place is a gem, right on the river. The service attention was just right, and we were able to have a nice conversation during lunch, without having to raise our voices at all. Good for a business meeting, and away from the traffic (so your odds of being interrupted by other guests passing by would be minimal)."

"Tried Currents for a quick dinner on Valentine Day. We were there pretty early, about 7:30 and there was only one other couple. The food was very good. I had the bar-b-qued pork shanks and they were amazing. It was the best piece of pork that I've had in recent memory. The gf had the mojito chicken, that and it was tastey.

"I was disappointed. It stated it was on the river so I was hoping for a nicer ambience. The tables and atmosphere are not enticing...just ok. The food was ok, too. I was disappointed that the rolls they give you tasted stale. I never rec'd any butter and when I asked, I rec'd one pat of butter that is in a plastic container that you open (not appealing). Service was just ok, too. I don't ever plan on going back. This is definitely not a place I would take a client."
