First, the food was exquisite! Excellent brunch and the torejas exceptional. Did find the constant explanations of the dishes a bit pretentious. I ordered in Spanish, so it should have been obvious to the wait-staff that I knew what I was ordering. It was a bit annoying all the more because the servers continually mispronounced the names of the dishes and ingredients. But, this is all nitpicking because the food was very well prepared and presented. I highly recommend it all. This was my second visit and I plan to return again.

I have written about this restaurant before and I keep expecting it to not live up to my expectations. It delivers the best food again and again. Consistency is amazing. We had the potato and cod(my favorite), raw trout, white asparagus, beet salad, and soup. Everything was delicious!

Over the past two + years we have been for both lunch and dinner. Every time our experience has been something to boast about. Each time our server has been fantastic and well supported by friendly team members. They all work together so well. I could go on all day about the food, but what is nice, is you can change your dining experience by selecting something you wouldn't normally try from the menu. So many options. I love cheese, in moderation, never knew how good goat cheese could be, WOW. Same thing with Lamb. I've never had it so good.

We've been dining at Curate since they opened and we've never had a bad experience. The food is always amazing, the service good and the atmosphere fun and energetic. Our latest visit was late Friday, 21 Nov, after the Peter Kater concert. Unfortunately for us the concert ran longer than expected and we lost our reservation. It's not a big deal, I do wish they had called, however they were able to seat us at the counter after less than a 10 minute wait. Curate is a very busy place - there's always a celebration of some sort - if you want a more romantic feel as for a table for two in the back...you won't be disappointed. Love this place and look forward to many more great evenings!

First-rate in every way. The only cautionary note: our server, when asked to make a recommendation on wine in the Chardonnay family suggested another that was one of the most expensive on the list....and more like sherry than Chardonnay. Didn't seem to know his stuff .... But was friendly and professional nevertheless. Just seemed a little like price-pumping. Still, we love Curate and will be back.

Curate seems to be one of the most hyped new restaurants on the Asheville scene. We originally booked for a Saturday night dinner but opted for lunch instead. Our waitress was great and we allowed her to take us on a tour of her favorite dishes. I also loved sitting at the bar and watching the cooking/prep work in action. I love Spanish tapas and the food was impeccable. A little small even by tapa standards and definitely pricey. I had 2 beers and with 4-5 tapa plates we spent ~$84, a bit much for lunch for 2 but we were on vacation! The care placed on ingredients, preparation and experience are fantastic, making this spot a foodies dream. That being said, I doubt it appeals to everyone and the prices may limit their audience. Due to their waitlist, they have no shortage for now and I hope the continue to flourish in the future. Thanks for a unique dining experience.

My wife and I had an enjoyable evening dining at Curate. This was our first time there and while the "Tapas Scene" isn't necessarily one of our favorites, the food was excellent and we enjoyed the experience. Good suggestions from our waiter on what to order. A few more gaps than expected in the flow of the food to the table, but nothing serious. I wasn't as taken as I expected to be with their signature dish, the shrimp with garlic, and thought it was a distant second to the ham sampler (three varieties) that we were very impressed with. The tuna and olive salad was also very tasty. We will return.

We were pleased with the food, but the loud music was inappropriate for an upscale tapas restaurant. The music was more appropriate for a singles bar. If you want good food and are hard of hearing, this would be the ideal place.

Pros: food was absolutely wonderful. The environment was very fun. Great wine selection and some great beers on tap. After drinks food and tip my wife and I spent $100 but it was well worth it. The stuffed piquillo peppers, octopus and iberico platter are all must haves. This place is up there with Mateo in Durham in terms of an unbeatable Spanish tapas experience. Cons: Likely not the fault of the restaurant but rather OpenTable.com, our reservation was messed up and we didn't have a table. Luckily the manager found us seats at the bar, it was only my wife and I. Also, the server working the bar could have been more friendly. It was very busy but we felt as though we were inconveniencing the server several times throughout the night.

We had a wonderful dinner with many of the dishes recommended by the server. Many wines are available by the glass which allows for good pairing with different dishes. The pork (skirt steak style) was really chewy and they were kind enough to take it off the bill. The chocolate mousse as well as pistachio sponge cake with lemon thyme ice cream were incredible. I would definitely eat here again. A reservation is a must. Thanks Open Table!

We've been here numerous times. Perhaps cannelloni wasn't on the menu, or we just missed seeing it. In any case, we got one order of it--and then another. Fantastic!! Also, because Curate dinner reservations are so difficult to get, do remember they serve lunch (except on Mondays) plus a delicious brunch on both Saturdays and Sundays.

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews. The food was spectacular. We had the butternut squash soup, the salad with beets and oranges to start with. Both of those dishes were amazing. Next on the menu was the lamb skewers and the migas, which the migas was Brussels sprouts and cauliflower with raisins. Out of this world. Ended the dinner with fried eggplant drizzled with honey. Our server recommended that paired with rosemary ice cream. It was nothing I would have ever thought of but it was delicious. Very inexpensive evening for what we got. Our only complaint about our evening was our server. He acted very indifferent to us and his other tables. In a tapas place, an engaged sever is important.

Having been in Spain a few years ago, we were anxious to try Curate since they are known for their tapas. Could the food be as wonderful as Spain? The answer is YES. The menu was extensive and it was so hard to choose just a few plates. We ordered olives, lamb skewers, butternut squash soup and a sandwich with white tuna, Also, had a salad with wonderful sherry dressing. The service was excellent and the noise level was medium. Can't wait to return to Asheville and go back to Curate.

The food at Curate combined ingredients in new and unusual ways for me. Our table of four (including 2 vegetarians and one vegan) shared parts of nine tapas items which satisfied everyone. The octopus with potato purée and the sautéed Brussels sprouts, raisins and cauliflower were truly outstanding. For dessert we enjoyed the fried eggplant drizzled with honey and served with rosemary ice cream. Our server dictated the tempo and decisions about our meal in a way that was at times annoying; although he made some good suggestions as well. The server made assumptions about our desires which were not always accurate by having us order all tapas at one time and then deciding for us that eggplant should be a dessert item without having us check the menu for options. He presented the bill prematurely.

We were looking forward to our visit so much! But, the combination of noise, unhelpful service and truly so-so food left us regretting that we wasted the time and effort to get a reservation at Curate'. While we didn't have a BAD dish what we DID have was 2 out of 6 dishes that were worth noting. Those two were crema de calabaza(butternut squash soup) and crema catalana con frutas del bosque(foam mousse with strawberries and a candied caramel disk on top). We were looking to get a few more dishes, but things weren't going the way they should so we ordered the great dessert. So, unless they decide to become a soup and dessert only bar I don't see us returning again. There are too many great places in Asheville to waste time and money here.

We had just one evening to sample Asheville's happening restaurant scene and we definitely made a great choice. On a Thursday night Curate was jumping but that did not hold up our reservation or diminish the prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service. Small plates were delicious and the wine list was impressive. Definitely a must.
