CúrateFABULOUS!Staff was friendly, well informed, was wonderful to talk through food & wine/drink choices. The food was phenomenal, every dish we picked was excellent. The entire experience was terrific, would highly recommend it to everyone, and we will definitely be going back on our next visit to Asheville.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood service, great food!Ordered a lot of food, and it all came out in a timely manner. Fun atmosphere. Great Sangria!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Spanish tapasVery good tapas menu offered in a nice setting with an open kitchen. Sit at the counter where the food is prepared and watch the action. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. The wine list is Spanish and fairly priced, giving you the opportunity to try examles of wine from different regions.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways perfectWe choose Curate for special celebrations and have never been disappointed. The service is better than anywhere and the food is creative.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDivineAsheville is so lucky to have Curate! Don't miss the white asparagus with tarragon lemon foam or the spanish martini.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite place!Wow, where to start. The ham was exceptional, the artichoke salad was yummy and unique. The cold soup was decadent and memorable. The chorizo wrapped in potato chips was fun, I like the crunch with the spicy sausage. And the garlic shrimp was just delicious. Ooh, and the bread. The bread is what bread should be- light, airy, chewy.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticMy wife and I have traveled in Spain, and my wife lived in Spain during her teenage years. The tapas at Cúrate are as good as any we have had in Spain and, in terms of variety and consistent excellence across multiple dishes, better. What else is there to say, really? If you have the chance, go.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal ever!Who knew food could be so good! Everything was perfect! We enjoyed every minute of it! The recommendations of our server were great. I especially liked the olives, eggplant with honey, asparagus with Romesco sauce, pork belly ( that was to die for ), lamb on skewers, and chocolate mousse, and the wine. I'm looking forward to a return visit.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible Dining ExperienceNew to the tapas bar experience but the waitor did an incredible job discussing menu items and had some great suggestions. The food was delicious and had so much flavor. We will definitely recommend to friends and will be back the next time we are in town.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious options. WonderfulDelicious options. Wonderful drinks. Had a cucumber cocktail and shared White Sangria. Enjoyed the charcuterie plates and the grilled pork the most, outstanding. Nice options for vegetarians as well, particularly the grilled asparagus with romesco sauce. A memorable dinner.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCurateExcellent food..sourced and prepared with attention to detail. Very knowledgeable staff. We sat at the "bar" which provides a perfect view of the kitchen on the other side and watched as the cooks prepped and cooked all the dishes. The staff is fun and engaging as they go about their business. It's rather like sitting at a sushi bar and watching the chefs in action while having a bit of conversation with them. A fun experience coupled with fantastic food. We choose some items and then let the cooks guide us as well with their recommendations. A perfect experience.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful Spanish TapasThe chef at Curate had really done something special is bringing the taste of Spain to Asheville. Every item on the menu is light and full of flavor. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you make reservation a week in advance or come in for lunch .6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic experience - wonderfulFantastic experience - wonderful food and a very well informed and helpful server. I can recommend Curate without any hesitation or reservations.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently Amazing! We've been Curate fans since their first week in business. The crowds have grown and it's sometimes difficult to get a table for the night you want but it's worth booking as soon as you can. The food is outstanding and the service is good - when they are really busy the pacing could be a bit better ie, we got our first tapas before our cocktail was delivered. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Bring your appetite for great food - Katie Button makes the food sing. Don't miss the grilled pork, the stuffed red peppers and the grilled eggplant. It's all good and it's always a difficult decision on what to order cause I want to try something new but I love the ones I know....6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatThe food was excellent. The menu was something I have never encountered before and was awesome. Dining there was a great adventure.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant inMy favorite restaurant in Asheville, the food was fab and they really know how to celebrate a birthday.
Twice asked to have the music turned down, we could not talk and be heard. The waiter says the manager likes loud music.
Last time we were there we thought the music should have a Spanish flair and be background music. They need to work on that.
Everything else was perfect. The waiter darling but too soft spoken, 3 of us could not hear what he was saying unless he was standing beside you. He was an excellent waiter.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to go againFantastic dining experience. Wine list was superb, service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrificAn outstanding dining exoerience. Not only our best in Asheville, the best we've had anywhere in quite some time. Don't miss it if you're here.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a hitMy wife and daughter ate here in June 2013. This was our third visit. Curate is outstanding. In a town overflowing with great food, Curate still stands out. The unique and wide variety of flavors offered make this restaurant a must when you visit Asheville. When you want to broaden your culinary horizons, this is the place to go in Asheville. There is such a wide variety of food offered that it will take many visits to even sample the whole menu. But you will likely find favorites in the process that you simply come back to each visit.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodThe food was excellent! Our favorite dish was pulpo a la gallega: squid and potato puree. The squid was tender and flavorful and the buttery flavor of the potatoes complimented the squid perfectly. Our server, Maggie (?), was wonderful!
We are used to eating tapas in Atlanta at Eclipse di Luna, which has an energetic (read: loud) Spanish/Latin atmosphere with musicians playing Latin music every night of the week. Curate's decor is more American. We were seated in the back of the restaurant which was isolated from the open kitchen/bar seating area. It was very quiet and romantic. When we walked through the main seating area which consists mostly of the kitchen/bar area the atmosphere was much more lively and energetic.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb Tapas and great drinksThis was an authentic Spanish experience. Everything we ate was delicious.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Curate, the food isWe love Curate, the food is great the wait staff is friendly and very helpful in making suggestions of new items to try. No one tries to hurry you through your meal. This is best place to go to relax and enjoy a great evening with a group of friends or for a fantastic date night.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA Culinary AwakeningThe meal we shared was transporting to say the least.
It was so delectable and experiential to my pallet that I have not been or eaten the same since.
Can 't wait to return.
CW6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent In every way!We asked our server to assist in that we were not familiar with many of the Spanish dishes. After asking about our tastes, she made recommendations that resulted in array of unique and exceptionally tasty choices. We enjoyed every minute of the meal!.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEat at the barWhat a fantastic experience! We ate at the bar, watched the food preparation and talked with the staff during our entire meal. Unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable. The food was unique and delicious but the experience was even better than the food. It's our new favorite.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to the hypeI have read articles in many magazines about Curate and was finally in Asheville so we had lunch there. This is the most authentic tapas bar I have been to in the US. Probably 75-100 selections to choose from, and an all Spanish wine list to match any I have seen. Our server, Erik, was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and making sure we didn't order more than we could eat. The wole waitstaff works as a team so the service was never lacking. I would go back just for the white gazpacho with Dungeness crab, but everything was outstanding.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time vsitors , foodFirst time vsitors , food excellent, server Jade outstanding, will go back as soon as we can.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining experienceAt Curate, the food was outstanding, with a large selection of interesting tapas with well developed flavors. Service was also excellent; our server was friendly and explained concisely how the process worked. She checked up on us frequently and made sure the delivery of dishes was perfectly timed.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMStandout tapasWonderful experience at Curate, which started with a skilled server. After sharing that we really love all kinds of food, he offered to surprise us and select our plates for us. He didn't disappoint! The quality and inventiveness of the food, plus the expected freshness and local sourcing Asheville is known for, made for a memorable meal. Definitely recommend!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time for tapas - blown away!!DON'T hesitate to try Curate just because you're nervous about the tapas concept - their wait staff was superb at making us feel comfortable and helping us select the right amount of food. DO make reservations!
We had one of the ham starters (so buttery delicious that hubby now wants to raise black-footed pigs), fried eggplant with honey (phenomenal crunch with the perfect sweetness), octopus (succulent, melt in your mouth tenderness), garlic shrimp (I almost drank the remaining sauce!) and chorizo sausage with potato purée (chorizo was a bit spicy for me, but it was one of hubby's favs! The potatoes were delish!). For dessert, the chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet. Mousse was incredible, but the sorbet was too tart for our taste.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites in AshevilleWe love this restaurant and return every time we are in Asheville. The tortilla española is one of the best anywhere in the world.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMCurate a gemCurate is wonderful ...great food, excellent service and a very good space6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFun time, a bit priceyCurate was a fun time and good for folks that want to stop off and get a small bite and drinks before getting a meal later on.
Curate is a bit pricey to get enough food to eat for dinner, three of us racked up a $200 tab with just one drink each. The drink called negroni was horrible tasting, luckily my mother thought it was OK, so I switched with her spanish martini, but I have to add that drink to my "never again" list i've made for asheville's various mixed drinks. the cheeses were great and the tabla de jamon and croquetas were delicious. some of the other dishes were good but not great.
overall it was a fun place to eat, a bit pricey, but not really outstanding for the money as far as a tapas bar went.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderful foodCurate continues to be my #1 pick for any meal.
The ingredients are carefully sourced and prepared
with great care and each dish is memorable.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding tapasCan't begin to describe how good the food is. Unusual but genuinely Spanish combinations.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, again and again....This is the sixth time we have eaten at Curate and it has never, ever disappointed us. We have been a party of two up to a party of five and enjoyed the atmosphere, the quality of the wait staff, the many choices of food items and the quality of the delicious food each time. We are so fortunate to live in a city that has Katie Button as the chef and such a marvelous staff of people working along side her. We have celebrated birthdays, high school graduations, retirements and just a dinner for two when we were downtown taking in a show or a movie and were fortunate enough to be accommodated. We love sitting at the bar, when it is just the two of us, so we can take in all the steps involved in the prep work.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome addition to AshevilleKatie and Felix have done an awesome job of creating a true Spanish Tapis menue. We keep returning and love the attentive and knowledgeable staff as well as the creative meal. We've never had anything we haven't considered tops.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceOur first time in Asheville and this will definitely be a place to return to.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMdEEElicious!!!With everyone talking about Curate recently, I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype. I was beyond proven wrong and so excited about the brilliant drinks, specials, menu items, and service. It's an Asheville MUST!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSome of the best tapas I'veSome of the best tapas I've eaten anywhere in the world. Absolutely superb food.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA Special DayOur visit to Curate was to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary with friends. The food and service were extraordinary,6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved ItAll six dishes were spectacular. From Olives to Octopus, this place has it going on!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCurate is our new favoriteFANTASTIC! The food, service, wine, atmosphere...everything about Curate is spot on. Except for the fortunate (for them) fact that you are unlikely to get in for dinner without a reservation well in advance (a day or two in our experience depending on the night of the week you're looking for).5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Spanish tapas. PleaseWonderful Spanish tapas. Please open a restaurant in Greenville, SC!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTapas served with flairWell curated menu of excellently prepared tapas. The garlic soup is not to be missed. Great selection to fit varied palates. Bar menu was interesting also.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food! The tapas reminded us of Spain. The service was friendly and crisp. We didn't care for the pitcher of Sangria, but we asked our server for more simple syrup and a shot of Cointreau, which we added and then it, too, tasted like we remembered from a trip to Spain. A must-visit restaurant if you are in Asheville.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved it. New experienceWe loved it. New experience for us and we enjoyed it all. Our waiter was terrific!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNever be hungry againLots of great choices. I wanted to sample everything. I'll simply have to go back.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceMy wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. Everything was great, the food, the service, the environment. This was our first Tapas Bar experience and it was a very nice change from the typical American dining experience. This is a must do dining destination is you find yourself in Asheville. This kind of local, creative restaurant is such a refreshing escape from the awfulness which is the big corporation chain restaurant.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSublimeRelaxing adventure for friends as we shared delicious selections at a leisurely pace. Do not miss the tomato bread, eggplant with honey, and other items. The server was attentive and patient with our questions. Love this place!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
