  • Public Transit: Asheville Transit provides bus service throughout the City of Asheville and other local areas with 24 bus routes running from 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Monday - Saturday. Routes originate at Transit Center, located 49 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville (next to the U.S. Post Office). On-duty information assistant provides assistance with maps & schedules.

  • Parking Details: On-street metered spaces available. All meters are for short term parking (2 hrs or less, as marked) $1/hour. Coins only. The metered spaces are enforced from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday - Saturday. Parking is FREE Sunday & City holidays.

  • "This restaurant is alive and bustling! With everything going on it still feels cozy and comfortable. The food was amazing! Since it is a tapas restaurant we had a lot of fun trying many dishes….olives, ham sampler, lamb skewers, chicken croquettes, chorizo, manchego cheese, etc. The dish that stood out the most was the Iberian pork. It was so tender and delicious. A definite must if you dine here. We had the red sangria which was dry, but full of flavor. The service is superb!"

I will take out of town company there and I will recommend it! Absolutely fabulous. We were there at a quite time on a Sunday about 3, so I did not see it at dinner.   • "We've been to Cúrate a number of times and always enjoy it. Given the quality, the prices are reasonable. The menu doesn't change much, though there are a few specials daily. We love the Iberian ham selection, the gazpacho, the amazing olives (just $4) and the honey-drizzled eggplant. We don't care for the chicken fritters or patatas bravas (Zambra's version is far better). Most of the restaurant has a very high noise level, but the alcove in the back is quieter. Advance reservations essential. Service is usually excellent. We are less enthralled with the new Nightbell, around the corner on S. Lexington, run by the Cúrate folks. Nightbell started as an upscale lounge but apparently didn't do that well and has now evolved into a restaurant."

  • "I have had two of the most incredible meals I've ever had anywhere on the planet at Curate. This third time, I was expecting another stellar experience. The service was once again wonderful. The drinks were lovely. But I made reservations 2 1/2 weeks before and was only given 5:30 and 9 p.m. options. We cut our day in Asheville short to make it there by 5:30. We were seated at a nice table by a window in the back but for more than an hour, at least 8 tables around us sat empty. That being the case, I felt we should have gotten at least a 6:30 reservation. Most of the food this time was good but not outstanding as before & the potato/onion omelet recommended was tasteless. Would still recommend Curate but...maybe the chef was on vacation?"

  • "The menu is too wordy and its layout is difficult to read/navigate. Several of the dishes seem overpriced. The pan con tomate - bread with tomato sauce and manchego cheese - good, but for $7 it seemed like a slice of pizza at my local pizza place tastes better, is a larger serving, and costs less. Maybe this restaurant is trying too hard to be sophisticated instead of just having excellent food that speaks for itself."

  • "We were unable to get dinner reservations during our stay in Asheville, so we opted for lunch. The food was very good, although as tapas is normally served...in tiny amounts. We shared a tiny bowl of delicious gazpacho which was pureed. We also had a couple of other dishes we recommend: escalivada con anchoas (roasted red peppers, onion and eggplant with enchovies) and setas al jerez (sauted mushrooms). There was one dish that was mediocre: chistorra con pure de patatas (grilled chorizo with potato puree). I just had iced tea, my hubby had a Cuba Libre cocktail. Tiny amounts of deliciousness for a healthy check ($51, not including tip)."

  • "First our server Maggie was excellent, never obtrusive but always around when needed and very knowledgable about the menu. The food is presented very simply with each dish prepared excellently. We particularly liked the lamb skewers, the octopus and the garlic shrimp. The only down side is as in many asheville restaurants to small and too loud. However next time will go for lunch as the menu is the same and I'm told its a little slower."

  • "My husband and I had dinner after booking a last minute reservation at Open Table. The menu had a wide selection of tapas. Each was prepared with care, and the flavor combinations were interesting and tasty. We had about six or seven between us plus a delicious gazpacho. The place was bustling but service was excellent - the waiter paced our service so that we were able to enjoy one or two plates at a time. The popular items - the shrimp and eggplant dishes - were great, as were the rest. Highly recommended."

  • "Come and enjoy some tapas! The fried eggplant is amazing, lamb skewers are perfectly seasoned and go well with the goat cheese stuffed peppers. The ultimate gin and tonic is beautiful and the wine was delicious. Go and you will definitely enjoy!"

  • "We drove our sons to summer camp near Asheville and began our parents only vacation at this amazing venue in downtown Asheville. We found this authentic Spanish tapas restaurant on Trip Advisor and were extremely impressed with everything from the decor to the exclusively Spanish label wine list! Favorite tapas included the table de jamon, pulpo (sautéed octopus)- the best we have ever eaten, and the flash fried eggplant drizzled in honey. The garlic shrimp entree is listed as the top choice of locals although we considered it a bit overwhelming with garlic. Sangria made table side made the experience complete! We will definitely return on our next visit to Asheville."

  • "My husband and I shared 6 tapas and it was just the right amount. The tortilla espanola was ok. Not the best I've ever had. Enjoyed the olives. The shrimp were delicious. The meat balls were ok but we could have done without them. We had a custard dessert with some brickle on top and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Our server was not very friendly. He seemed to be in a hurry and in a bad mood. It put a damper on our evening but we tried to just focus on the yummy food and our time together and not let his mood affect us. I would definitely go back and hopefully we would have better service."

  • "We're local and had heard great things about Curate, so when our daughter and son came to visit (from London and Boston, respectively) we booked a table for 6. Our waiter, Brian, was knowledgable, friendly, and attentive. We selected a few "must try" items from the tapas menu and then asked him to "make us happy" and he did just that. Everything was memorable -- jamon iberico, incredibly tender octopus, mushrooms sautee'd in sherry and thyme, ... the items kept coming each sized perfectly for all six of us to get a satisfying, exquisite mouthful. Two pitchers of Curate's signature sangria dry, perfectly spiced and laced with cognac, went beautifully with all the items. Plan to book 3 weeks in advance for weekend nights in summer."

  • "I love going to Curate on my birthday every year. The atmosphere is romantic, though late at night it becomes a loud hot spot for everyone. The service is excellent, and the food is absolutely amazing. I loved the galiacian octopus (pulpa de ...). Anyway, the octopus just melts in your mouth. Other amazing dishes include the pimentos piquillo y queso de cabra, the bocata calameres, and the jamon iberico skirt steak. I would definitely recommend going here! Just be aware that these dishes are tapas, or small plates so order 2-3 per person and share around the table."

Hostess led us out the back to their new bar, the Nightbell. DJ, drinks and good people watching. The Cold Rose cocktail just gets better as the berry ice melts, so take your time. A great evening."

Upon the vey helpful advice of our waiter, Brian, we paired the fried eggplant with honey drizzle with rosemary ice cream. That was one of the most amazing taste treats I have ever had.
