Everything at Cúrate was incredible from the lardo we started with to the pistachio sponge cake we ended with and every one of the endless plates in between. Do not miss this on your next trip to Asheville.

We knew to reserve a table way in advance. It was my 50th birthday trip. We were seated over 30 minutes late. The staff was apologetic. The seating policy was puzzling since another couple with a later reservation were seated before us. So we were reserved "a certain" table and the elderly couple eating at "our certain table" stayed well over their allotted 2 hours. I think some problem solving skills would have been in order here to seat us at the available table for 2 and have the early couple wait for their reservation time. We were served tapas quickly and a drink as we waited and given many apologies. The food was outstanding and complex. I loved the lamb kabobs and steamed spinach. The sorbet for dessert was divine. It is the hot spot

  • One of Asheville's best!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 9/27/2014
We have been to Curate quite a few times since it opened, and we love the food! We ordered roughly 8 tapas items for four individuals, and all were delicious. We especially love the lamb skewers, the eggplant with honey and rosemary, and the small peppers stuffed with Spanish goat cheese. This is one of Asheville's best restaurants, and my personal favorite! I made a reservation for 3 p.m., hoping for quiet, but it was mobbed when we arrived and stayed pretty noisy even as the lunch crowd cleared out. But the four of us are all in our mid-60s to mid-70s, and three with hearing problems, so this would not be an issue for younger folk. The food is just wonderful, different, fresh, and interesting, and the service is always excellent!

Absolutely wonderful! The food is simply incredible and our waiter was amazing. He took our order for 12 different tapas (for 4 diners) and spaced them out so that each pair arrived sizzling hot (when appropriate) and/or fresh. The Sangria was authentic. Reservations are a must.

The Pros: 1) Food was FANTASTIC 2) Service was so good I asked for the manager to pass on the kudos The Cons: 1) LOUD - not a romantic setting at all (which, for the prices...probably should be a focus) 2) Food from kitchen came out too quickly. The server asked that we give him our whole order so they could pace it well out of the kitchen...however we got about 4 plates out immediately, followed by one, then the other. Two at a time would have been WAY better (especially for room on the table...). Overall the cons were small compared to the pros. it was a bit pricey, but totally worth it for a once in a blue moon out.

Exceeded our expectation! The menu is so varied we asked our waiter Michael to just make the choices for us. We were rewarded with egg plant drizzled with honey, baby octopus, shrimp, and pork that rivaled the best beef. Since its Tapas we were able to sample a lot of things without feeling stuffed, but easily full. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. All the wait staff was friendly and well informed, particularly ours. Interesting drinks at the bar and a few minutes watching the chefs set the tone for the evening. A wonderful way to celebrate our 20th but it won't be long before we return.

We went here on a Tripadvisor recommendation with a party of four. The space is simple and filled quickly creating an "energetic" atmosphere although table conversation was easily had. We put the tapas selections in the hands of our server who after listening to our preferences, proceeded to bring a wonderful balance of cold and hot dishes with vegetables and meat - all very creatively done but not to the point of being precious. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes not overdone with seasoning or spices - these folks can cook. The wine list was short but excellent with most of Spain represented and both new and old-world producers. Would have liked a little crowded space but would certainly go back.

Food unbelievably good...service "Maggie" was amazing, dessert..could eat it all day. The BEST lemon thyme ice cream I have ever had. We loved this place soooo much, that we cancelled our reservations at Table so we could eat here again. Thank god we don't live in Asheville, cause I would eat here so much, that they would think I was a stalker, or they would just have to hire me. I am a Pastry Chef back in Ohio, but I would be happy just doing dishes here if they would feed me.

We love Curate and always sit at the bar because we watch the food prep and the staff is so helpful and informative. Last Friday was our least pleasing experience, but even at that, it's still our favorite Asheville restaurant to go to and will continue to do so. We sat at bar again, but this time at end where drinks are made. Not good to watch food being assembled. Our food was wonderful as usual and great presentation. The time between tapas was very long and we had trouble getting attention of staff that the food was taking long between orders. Also the bar staff person had just returned from an accident and was in some pain we know but overall the service was not up to it's customary good standards. Welcome staff was great.

Second time back to Curate and certainly wasn't disappointed! Opt for a bar seat and let the 'open kitchen' layout improve your experience at this restaurant. Tapas menu was relatively extensive and the wait staff were friendly, informative and attentive. We had a group of eight tennis players enjoying dinner last Thursday in Asheville. The service was professional, yet made all of us feel that this was a fun place and that we could relax and enjoy the evening; nothing stuffy but always attentive! The food was absolutely wonderful! Several of us had the marinated lamb skewers and loved the exotic Moroccan spices. I thought the shrimp and garlic dish was especially flavorful, but also loved tasting a friend's seafood dish! Everyone agreed that we would return to Curate the next time we visit Asheville. What a jewel of a restaurant!
