  • "I was in town to celebrate my birthday and picked this place because of a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed! The food was magical. The service was great and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner. I recommend the lamb kabobs paired with the goat cheese stuffed peppers! Delish!"

  • "Incredible tastes, texures an flavors of spain. Small plates were plenty adequate and would rather share and experience 4-5 dishes then just get one big plate"

  • "Food was very good. Too noisy to have much conversation with fellow diners. Should have asked for a table in the back. Blinking marquee from across the street is horrendous. Maybe some blinds, at least up top, would help. Will definitely return."

  • "I really wanted to make sure a guest from NYC had the opportunity to go to Curate. I decided to try it for brunch and it was such a good idea. Their special brunch menu was filled with surprises and presented, as always at Curate, elegantly. We added a couple of regular menu favorites. My visitor was impressed. Great choice for brunch!"

  • "Excellent meal. Not too often that you want to try everything on the menu, but I did here. We tried nine small plates and each was excellent, unique with nice clean flavors."

  • "I had an excellent experience. I was pleasantly surprised my some of the dishes and they kept getting better and better and they came out. The eggplant tapa was divine! I did not know eggplant could taste like that. The chocolate candy sculpture was also extremely satisfying and surprising. The dishes were an explosion of flavor and taste. I would recogmend this place to anyone and everyone."

  • "Fun, pleasant staff. Tapas were pretty extraordinary. All kinds of different taste combinations that really work well. Not a restaurant for the un-adventurous. Next time I would sit at the bar and have dinner. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was a little more sedate. Up front is really alive. Overall a fun, great place for dinner."

  • "Absolutely a great dinner! It was my wife's birthday and Curate made it a wonderful experience. The food, service, and atomosphere was wonderful. Curate is a must if you are in Asheville if you want authentic Spanish tapas! The menu is perfect all food lovers including vegans and vegetarians! Don't miss an opportunity to eat at one of Asheville's finest!"

  • "We try and make it to Curate at least twice a year. It is our favorite splurge. I recommend everything on the menu, especially their cured ham, lamb skewers, and amazing pork shoulder skirt steak which I can only describe as 'bacon/steak.' Their desserts are fantastic too. Catalan class on a global scale."

  • "Curate is a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and it doesn't really matter what you order. The service is outstanding and the food is delivered quite rapidly. We enjoyed it all."

  • "Curate was recommended to us and it did NOT disappoint. From the Sangria which was not too sweet and worked well with almost every dish to the final desserts. If you are adventuresome, let your waiter choose the dishes. You will usually get 2 or 3 tapas size dishes per person. David, our waiter, was wonderful in choosing and very attentive. Our party of 4 can't wait to return."

  • "My 18 y/o daughter and I came here for dinner. Everything was prepared deliciously. The only difficulty was that we don't eat pork or shellfish, and there was only one lamb dish and no beef or chicken. So we stuck with the lamb skewer, ordered the Spanish omelet and got 1-2 veggie dishes. Everything tasted delicious, especially the grilled green onions with a crushed almond smoky tomato sauce. I would have liked to see a poultry or fish option, though. The veggie options were very complex - fine for me but my daughter's tastes are not that sophisticated yet. So a few simply prepared veggies would have been helpful. I'll be back on my next visit, though!"

  • "Been meaning to check out this spot for a long time after hearing countless good reviews. Went there for my partner's birthday, and this is an ideal location for special occasions. All of the food was delicious, perfectly arranged, and served at specific temperatures, times in the meal, etc. to give us the best experience over the course of our meal. Service was prompt and our waiter was eager to offer suggestions whenever we needed help. L"

  • "This is my third or fourth visit to Curate. I am a huge fan of tapas bars in general because I love to try several different dishes in a sitting. This visit we tried the pan con tomate with manchego which is a favorite of mine. It was perfect - crunchy bread with a softer middle with juicy and ripe tomatos and delicious manchego. We also tried the patatas bravas this time -- which were good but no my favorite. They've added some smokey spice that I don't particularly like. Still good. We also had the gamas al ajillo. Good, but I prefer more garlic and a lemon garnish. The grilled chorizo with olive oil potato puree was good, but the potatoes could have stood a little more flavor. And finally, we enjoyed the stuffed peppers with goat cheese."

  • "Curate offers perhaps the best food we've ever eaten. We loved every dish--and we tried many! From the simplest dish (we had pan con tomate with manchego) to the rarest (we tried both the raw trout salad, the fried eggplant with honey and rosemary, and the vermicelli with squid in its own ink -- the last is indescribably flavorful, rich, earthy, astonishing), the flavors and freshness and delights were just unparalleled. Several times my husband and I found ourselves speechless over how wonderful everything was. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind, and the ambiance was comfortable and sophisticated. We'd eat there all over again tomorrow if we could! It reminded us of the best food we'd had in Barcelona--and then topped it."

  • "We were a party of 6, 3 adults, and 3 kids (9 yr old triplets) and it was amazing! Definitely a meal to remember! When we reserved our table online, I was able to tell them about our food allergies (gluten, dairy, egg) and they were ready when we arrived! The chef had marked up a menu just for us! We order the white wine sangria - which was perfect for the 3 adults to have 2 glasses each - a perfect amount. The kids loved the sparkling lemonade as their treat. We had a variety of things on the menu and loved them all - the kids are still talking about the dishes - we have adventurous eaters! Would go back again - but bring your wallet - the delicious small plates add up. Bill was +$200 for the 6 of us, but was worth it."

  • "Curate is always lovely...dining late afternoon gives it a very European feel. Sit at the bar if you want to watch your food prepared and receive excellent beverage service. There is nothing better than the eggplant dish...heaven. Lamb skewers? Oh my."

  • "Having lived in Spain for over a year, I was excited to find a menu with so many authentic Spanish dishes - many that you wouldn't normally find on a tapas menu in the U.S. The food was even better than we expected - definitely highlighted the true flavors of Spain and the Mediterranean. The cocktails and wine selection were great as well. Space is tight, like a true European bistro, and sometimes the wait can be long due to it's popularity. Luckily, they take reservations even for two, so we didn't have any trouble getting in at a reasonable hour. The ambiance is fairly calm and the service was very professional. Our server had also been to Spain and was very knowledgeable about the menu - She was wonderful! Highly recommended!"

  • "As usual, Curate was fantastic and exceeded my lofty expectations. I really love this place. This time around they were able to accommodate my eleven person party with just a few weeks notice, on a Friday evening. The server suggested we try some sort of a sampling menu they offer, which seemed easier than everyone trying to order particular items, and it did work out well. We were able to focus on one another, tell the story of how Jina and I met to everyone at the table, and get caught up since I hadn't seen some of the guests in quite a while. The food and service were excellent. I would never hesitate to return to Curate. Thank you to all the staff involved, I had a fantastic and unforgettable evening."

  • "We are from out of town, and Curate was recommended to us by some local friends. It was perfect for our birthday celebration. We loved all the food and being able to taste such a variety. Service was excellent. Will definitely return!"

  • "If you are within an hour or two of Asheville, or just visiting from further away, Curate is worth making a reservation. Be prepared for the restaurant to be busy, even on week nights."

  • "I had been looking forward to eating at Curate for over a year. Finally the deed was done! Overall it was very good. I would say the food is very good (not excellent) but my server (cute tattooed girl) was amazing, the energy of the place was great and one of my favorite twists was that many tables were talking and sharing bites of dishes (cool in my book, some may hate it lol). No one dish was an earth stopper but everything was very good. Can be happy spending $30 or $130 for dinner."

  • "Love the tapas and it is fun to share with three or four people so you can experience many. The wait staff will make suggestions if it is your first time. After many visits, it is still one of my favorite Asheville restaurants."

  • "We found out about this amazing place on the James Beard website. We live in a City full of great boutique restaurants so we have high expectations. This did not disappoint. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the waiter brought a surprise dessert and I won't give it all away, but go for the Nutellaesque Handkerchief. OMG - I can still taste it."

  • "Terrific choice for a change of pace dining experience! The tapas approach is taken to a new level at Curate - each selection could easily stand in for an entree on its own. I highly recommend the lamb skewers and jamon ballota. The only disappointment was the pistachio cake....bland and more 'bread' than cake. I absolutely will not hold that against them as everything else was done to perfection. A+++++++"

  • "This was an absolutely fabulous dining experience. Every dish that was brought to the table was excellent. More importantly our selections were delivered in an order that ensured that all the favors complimented each other. The server was a tremendous help with recommendations as well as the number of dishes to order for the size of our group."

  • "We have eaten all over the world and had many years in San Francisco developing our ethnic taste buds. This was among the best of the very best international food experiences we have had. Kudos to the chef and all who work with Curate!"

  • "My friends took me there last week for my bachelor party. They were disappointed because they thought it was a topless bar. But we were hungry and stayed for a late dinner. It was great, although the plates seemed very small."

  • "Outstanding experience. Will definitely dine again when back in town. There are so many dining choices in Asheville but this to me is in the top 3. Great for groups of friends to nosh before roaming the streets for shopping/sampling delicious local brews. For all those folks who say this is too pricey - I say baloney. 4 of us got 10 plates plus a pitcher of Sangria. Bill was ~ $37 each."

  • "Got dusted with a little elBulli stardust as we passed through the culinary comet tail Curate. Dining late night and last minute on acorn fed jamon and porto fino would have been enough - but of course we had to try razor clams with baby fava nasturtium and fish foam -(dayenu!) Paella-like noodles with squid ink were oddly macaroni and cheese like ... not exactly essence of the sea but as close to Galicia as this lucky girl is gonna get anytime soon. Bon apetit ya'll!"

  • "This is the second time we've been here and it was even better than the first. Everything was delicious, served promptly with a friendly smile. We love tapas and Curate has a nice selection. If I had any caution for people, I would say that Curate is so popular, you need to make your reservations well in advance."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed our first visit here! We choose this place over many others based off of previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Our favorite item on the menu was the fried eggplant with rosemary/honey glaze. It melts in your mouth. Would recommend this place to friends for good food and a fun night out! Make a reservation!!!"
