Diner Reviews
  • "Location in Westfield Center on Market St.--easily accessible via BART and MUNI. Location is centrally located for luncheon members coming from East Bay, Peninsula, and within San Francisco."

  • "This corner of the 4th floor 'under the dome' was a lovely oasis in the midst of the Powell/Market hustle below, and also from the bustle of the Westfield Mall in general. Our group of 4 was looking for a quick simple dinner on the way from BART station to a show at the Warfield. The pizzas were delicious and the kale salad absolutely out of this world! We were able to eat 'outside' (in the mall still), which meant it was nice and spacious and quiet. Will return, esp for the kale salad! I'm soo glad we found it on the Westfield site. Pizzas ordered were Marguerite, Funghi, and sausage - plenty to eat for a group of 4 with 2 large salads split as well. Server was a good help in deciding what to order, too. Thank you."

  • "I made the reservation using Opentable wanting a nice table, but was seated outside the restruant, in the mall, so it felt like a food court with people walking around shopping. The service, food, and wine was good, just terrible seating."

  • "Pizza was outstanding. We had the mozzarella appetizer and the Arrabiatta pizza. The mozzarella was a boring disk I thought, wouldn't order again. The pizza, on the other hand, was excellent. Fresh, spicy and delicious. For anyone who likes pizza this place is a must try. The crust was perfect, chewy and flavorful. The sauce was spicy and it paired well with the pancetta on top. Highly recommend the pizza. The ambience was okay. There was still a little of that I am at a mall fell, but other than that the place was fine. The service was also very fast which enhanced our experience"

  • "The Chef's feast is a fun tasting experience at a reasonable price and we enjoyed almost every dish"

  • "Always enjoy the food at Cupola, but always feel rushed and that I do not like. We had barely started our appetizers and the main course was already on the table."

  • "First time at Cupola. Had the $32 Feast and $16 wine flight. Best food value in SF. Excellent service, great tastes and the courses just keep on coming. We shall return regularly with family and friends."

  • "This is in a mall, yes. But it's a "real" restaurant. I love it, and go often- a couple times a month. Great for before a movie or just for lunch. Yes, I live downtown so it's easy for me."

  • "If I had known when I booked the reservation that the restaurant was in a mall I would have gone elsewhere. We were visiting San Francisco and were looking for a neighborhood gem type of place. The food was good, but I have a pet pieve about a waitress asking me if I want change. I don't like the assumption that what is left from a cash transaction is a tip."

  • "great tasting pizza from the wood burning oven, nice thin crust, just the right amount of tomato sauce and mozzarella"

  • "Had the best baby kale salad - great dressing. Broccoli rabe pizza was also very good. Sharing the blood orange polenta cake was a delicious way to end the meal. We each had a couple of glasses of red wine which turned out to be pricey - next time, we'll just get a bottle. I'll definitely be going back."

  • "Cupola is in a perfect location in the mall. When I don't want to eat in the food court that requires searching for a seat, eating with people I don't know, and dealing with the din of masses, I like to eat at Cupola. Their pizza crust is incredibly thin and tasty. The lunch special of a pizza (Arrabiata is spicy and our favorite) and salad (Caesar or kale) is a great deal for two. We had the kale salad this time and it was very tasty with currants and lemon. I always look forward to eating there...some time I'll have to try their pasta, too."

  • "Appetizers are quite small. Pizzas are authentic Napoletana and delicious. Pastas are cooked perfectly - my favorite is the Amatriciana. Excellent Italian food!"

  • "Made reservations for Valentine's Day. Seated immediately. Nice cozy spot. A little loud but was able to carry on a nice conversation. Food was great (helped that we were really craving pizza). Would recommend. Super convenient to BART. A little weird that it's in a mall though."

  • "Cupola offers a feast of all feasts. I highly recommend giving the chef an opportunity to show off talent and taste! Sit back, sip wine and enjoy the amazing plates that will be served."

  • "My husband ate here last year & said it was very good. Sadly, it must've gone downhill. Best part of the warm mozzarella was the lemon oil and tiny bits of romanesco. My crab pasta smelled very fishy, like canned tuna; it didn't taste great either. My friend misread the menu and got a pizza w/out cheese. The server should've asked if that was ok, but she was very inattentive...even though it wasn't busy. We would've sent food back, but we were on our way to a concert. I would not return here."

  • "Cupola may be in a mall, but the quality of the kale salad and carne pizza were a match for any boutique pizza place in San Francisco. Cupola is competing at the highest level, yet with reasonable prices and pleasant staff."

  • "I recently ate here with a group of friends during a business meeting in SF. The restaurant is attractive and they have a decent menu. I found that overall the food was good, but over priced."

  • "This is not the mall-based "pizzeria" one would expect. This unique menu of pizzas look like brick over pizzas, but are more like flat bread with several (most) choices that do not come with cheese or tomato sauce. But don't let that alarm you, they are excellent. The staff is super friendly and will explain everything. They are very accommodating to include offering to put cheese and tomato sauce on anything if it is at first not to your liking. They have a kid's menu with the traditional style pizzas or pasta. Some seating is European style meaning they have 3 long 12 person tables so you might be seated next to others depending on how busy they are. All in all, great food and excellent service, we will definitely go back!"

  • "Had the kale salad and arrabiata pizza and both were excellent! There is a lunch special for $25 for two, that's a great deal."

  • "When I am shopping in the mall, I always eat at Cupola. They have a great pizza and salad lunch deal. This time we went to a movie at 5 pm and had dinner at Cupola before heading home. We thought we'd try the pasta this time but the pizza called to us. We got the Carni pizza was wonderful. The Caesar salad wasn't quite as good as I've had in the past but edible. But I'll go back again."

  • "I made a reservation for a welcome lunch for a new addition to the work team. Cupola had great selection and the table was ready right when we got there. There was not a long wait and everyone had a good time and enjoyed their food."

  • "This was my first visit to Cupola Pizzeria. The food was very good, however, the waitress forgot to bring our appetizers before our meal so we had to cancel them and when we got our pizza we were not brought plates and had to ask for them. The service could have been better. Due to the quality of food, drinks and location I will, however, most likely return."

  • "Really good pizza and champagne cocktails. Fun holiday dinner with family."

  • "A disappointing meal. The food was only satisfactory. Our arrabiata pizza, which we expected to be spicy, was unbearable. Was only to made spicy by a ton of red pepper flakes. The service was fair, for our party of six the food was delivered haphazardly - one diner got his soup entree about 10 minutes before the rest of us started to get food. And we waited even longer for that unpalatable arrabiata pizza. We were charged for drinks that we did not receive because the restaurant was out of the product. The manager did take the drinks off the bill and admit it was her oversight, but really, that was not enough to make up for the bad experience. Not a good value."

  • "Overall it was a very nice restaurant. Best of all the food was delicious, and good service. The one problem I had with this restaurant was the very small portions regardless of the high price. Also, the prices on the menu do not reflect the prices on their website. Probably wont go back but it was a nice dinner."

  • "I think that the restaurant is well located if you are either shopping at westfield or come and meet someone who is. We got a very good table. The service though seemed sloppy and mainly the quality of food not so good for the amount of money payed. (particularly given that we are in San Francisco which has such great food options. A much better option while at Westfield is My China that is not cheap but excellent food"

  • "Casual, very fun place in SF Center. We ate there on the way to a performance at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Great place to share food. We started with meatballs, killer brussel sprouts, and large Caesar salad. Then two delicate, thin crust pizzas. The mushroom (forgot the exact name) pizza was especially good. Large wine selection. Dinner was amazingly affordable. Restaurant was loud, but fun. There are lots of large tables for big groups. Our waiter was attentive and informative without being intrusive. I will definitely be a repeat customer."

  • "Had the "Feast", a sample of items on the menu. Food was solid Italian, not cutting edge and for the most part, well executed. Pizza was tasty with thin crust. The salad was fresh and well-dressed. The pappardelle tasted homemade and was the favorite of the night. Our party of three had an enjoyable meal for a reasonable price."

  • "I took my friends for first time and all had a great time. Great Food with yummy new items, hankerchief pasta, brussel sprouts eere the best, the salads, kale was not tough very tasty and the ceasar was tangy, service was very friendly and helpful. We all had a great dinner and headed to BBB with a happy tummy."

  • "The pancia pizza was on the salty side, but the pork belly had great flavor. The calamari salad was excellent and portion was surprisingly generous. Overall a great stop if you've shopped up a storm and want something a little fancier than what you find at the typical food court."

  • "Had a group of 10 during a conference at during Moscone Center. Got a nice long table with high chairs. Pizzas looked great and everyone finished theirs. I had a gluten-free pasta which was tasty but a pretty small portion. Drinks were good. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere is as good as it could be in a shopping mall close to Christmas ( loud and tacky...) but that's wasn't really a problem."

  • "they have a decent wine list, nothing special for SF. The food was just ok, again nothing special. The pizza was wood-fire grilled, but lacked some flavor/depth."
