Cupola PizzeriaExcellent cuisine, bargain price. We ordered the $30 per person Festa and had a fantastic dinner of four small plates, two pastas, two half pizzas, and two desserts. No culinary corners were cut. The chef gave us an excellent introduction to the variety and high quality of the restaurant's small plates. We noticed that many other diners came in just for a light meal of a few small plates, something we'll try some day when we can resist the Festa. The wine list is reasonably priced and includes a good selection by the glass or half carafe as well as by the bottle.
Overall, Cupola is one of the best downtown options, not to be missed.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely terrific! This place is way underrated. The Neapolitan pizza is some of the best I have ever had, and the pasta is terrific also. We have been to Cupola numerous times and have had great service every time. The food has never been anything less than amazing.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodService and food are amazing, and very reasonable prices. This place would be 5 stars all around but the tables and chairs seem almost diner like, and aren't very comfy especially if you are shorter (I am 5'3). I'll definitely be back though.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxingLove this place. Perfect for after a Giants game if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the other restaurants near the ballpark. Very relaxing. They even have happy hour which was a real treat. Perfect place to unwind after work with coworker and friends. The thin crusted pizzas are great.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBack to normalIn a previous post I was not happy with the changes in service and menu. Alas, I'm one to give a second chance and the service and food are back to the standard I expected. Things are as good as or better than ever.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the lunch for twoEnjoyed the lunch for two splitting a very generous Caesars salad and pizza. Excellent pizza crust. Also had grilled shrimp appetizer -- shrimp were good, accompanying potatoes and green beans were bland. Server was very pleasant and helped us get out quickly.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFeast of all feastsAll three in out party ordered the feast of all feasts. Probably the best deal in town, all courses were great!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest deal in town!Had the $30 fixed prix dinner. This was one great feast. Not only was it abundant, but it was delicious made from upscale ingredients and interesting combinations and flavors. Meal started with a couple of appetizers which actually consisted of about 6 offerings, including their fresh hand pulled mozzarella topped with pistachios, delicious lamb meatballs, some salads including a calamari with arugula, 3 different pastas, an artichoke lasagne, torn pasta and then a gnocchi in a very yummy meat sauce. Then 2 different very thin crust pizzas. One pizza with 3 different meats and one marguerite. I was amazed by the quality of the food. I forgot to mention 2 desserts arrived just when I thought we couldn't eat another bite. Friendly service.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian pizza!Thin crust pizza! Like we had in Rome. Great salads. Appetizers are very small portions, but very tasty. Nice selection of wines and beer. Nice atmosphere, did not feel like we were in a shopping center. The Spumoni ice cream for dessert was the best I've had.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly surprisedWe enjoyed this restaurant a lot. Everything we had was good.: the grilled shrimp appetizer, the salads, the fried chicken and, of course, the pizza. I was not expecting to see fried chicken in an italian joint but it was crispy, flavorful and juicy. It was a pleasant surprise. The pizza is what they are know for and it was very good. We the margarita. It had a delicious sauce, nice balance of flavors and best of all, a wonderful thin crust with the right amount of chew.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMlots of foodenjoyed dining at Cupola with my two sisters. From the anti-pasta to the salad, mozzarella dish, pastas and pizzas, everything was delicious and in abundance. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert and the servers were all friendly and professional. WIll definitely return...........A bit noisy, but enjoyed the ambiance nonetheless5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time! There were 3 of us & we all had the $30 feast. It was great!! We would all recommend Cupola & are looking forward to going back again. The feast is a great value with so many delicious dishes. One person is a vegetarian, so most of the dishes were accommodating to her preference & only 3 dishes had meat...but it wasn't missed at all. Everything was really yummy. The waitress was very nice & not intrusive, but very present.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious samplerWe had the Feast -- it was too much food but we couldn't resist and managed all but one slice of pizza. It seemed loud but there was actually no problem hearing each other. The chairs looked uncomfortable but were not at all, and they moved easily to adjust position. It was a great opportunity to sample a many dishes without committing to a full order or having to make many visits. We immediately identified the dishes we'll order first next time (and we WILL be back). Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Overall a great value and a terrific time (but don't eat anything after an early breakfast!).5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome pizza and people watchingI'm always surprised when I read people ding these restaurants in malls--snobs! It's a great place to watch people. We sat on the patio and had a wonderful lunch (too much lunch, but that was our fault. I loved the tripe and the asparagus antipasti--the sausage sandwich and the pizza. Non-alcoholic drinks were really good. Should just have had wine, I was so full I hardly got any work done anyway. But that was my fault--if only they made the food taste, well, not so good....5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a great find andThis was a great find and a nice treat. My wife and I both had the "Feast of all feasts" special which is a 10 course meal for $30. Each course was very nice and included a medium size pizza for each of us. The food was great and the value was ridiculously good. I highly recommend Cupola's.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the service atThe food and the service at Cupola are great, and the La Festa di tutti le Feste is an amazing deal. We got to try two different pastas, three different pizzas, the justly renowned Dome salad, and more, all for $30 each. Everything was delicious, and there was so much food we ended up taking some home. I can't think of a better deal in San Francisco. The Feste di Bacchus wine flight was also a very good deal, and the wines in general are also very nice and a good value for the money. Service was enthusiastic and very accommodating. You can easily find places where you'll pay twice the price and not get food or service this good. We can't wait to go back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit toThis was my first visit to Cupola. We ordered the tasting menu and there was a good variety of items served. There was a VERY long gap of time between the pasta course and pizzas. I think that the kitchen got very backed up with many other diners ordering the tasting menu. We had indicated when we ordered the tasting menu that we wanted the fried chicken to be one course. Another server was getting ready to box up our pizzas and we inquired about the fried chicken course. Apparently, the order did not go through so we had to wait another 15 mins until it arrived. Although our server acknowledged the mix-up, we thought it had been made pretty clear. I would go back but service needs to pick up! It took us 2.5 hrs for dinner. Too long!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI read the review in the SFI read the review in the SF Chronicle and discovered for myself that you really can enjoy a wonderful 9 course meal in SF for $30.00. We had a great time at Cupola and will most surely return! I liked the wine on tap as well.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe warm pulled mozzarellaThe warm pulled mozzarella is fantastic. The dome salad is a must. It's mostly carrots, but it's so unusual and yummy. They also have my favorite pizza crust in the city. I don't know what they put in it, but it's delicious.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMvery accommodating staff, very accommodating staff, good people and great experience4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCupola is great!this is a greatplace. Food is super, wait staff is good, management and chef are the best. No need to go to North Beach for Italian.... this is the place.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed the deliciousI really enjoyed the delicious crab and pasta dish. And the Bellini!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved The the Pizza!Really great, unique Neapolitan style pizza. Try the Aribiatta, just make sure to order a little mozzarella on it as our server suggested. Reasonable wine prices that are priced by the glass, half or whole bottles. Perfect for a late night snack or dinner. We had the pizza, but the table next to us had pasta and it looked great.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is likely one of theThis is likely one of the best pizza places in the city - I love the thin crust - the pizzas are not overwhelmingly large - one is perfect for two people - especially if you split a large salad. I love the happy hour wine prices. It's a great deal for GREAT food.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent againExcellent fresh and tasty food. Too bad there weren't enough servers to sit outside in the atrium.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a find! The mozzarellaWhat a find! The mozzarella and brussel sprouts was devine. It was warm, lemony and served with toasted bread. I have to say that the pizza was better than the ones I had in Napels this year. I can't wait to go back.11/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
