Our server, Michael, was excellent. It was my daughter's 9th birthday and every staff member that encountered her told her Happy Birthday and was warm and pleasant to her, even the hostess when we checked in. The food was good but not on the level of Killen's or Perry's, which are my normal choices. Overall, a nice experience.

This is a HUGE restaurant. We went here for the first time in several years for an early dinner Saturday. They had offered an anniversary special and we decided to take advantage of it. The service was excellent; our waiter, Jason, was friendly and very professional. The food was good. The by-the-glass wine selection was quite limited. It may be just a pet peeve of mine but I am always annoyed when you have to request salt and pepper for your table. It just seems somewhat elitist to me, as if they know your taste better than you do.I had the lamb tenderloins, which were prepared perfectly and quite good, but would have been just a little bit better with some salt. My wife had the Idaho trout and was quite pleased with hers.

Very well-spaced tables allow patrons to have quiet conversations without sharing it with half the restaurant! Also, all tables are spacious, so no one should feel crowded. Wait staff knows the menu and wine list and will make suggestions. Location is off the beaten path but the food and service are worth the effort.

I had been wanting to visit Cullen's for a while, I brought a group of 4 persons for brunch. When we walked in the staff felt a bit disorganized. It was early so there were't many patrons, however they wanted to seat us right next to a large group. We requested a move and found a more suitable table. Our waiter was a bit standoffish and was difficult to hear or understand. The coffee was fabulous (French press), the food was fantastic (the grits were amazing), but the service could use some tweaking especially for the cost of the meal. Overall we were satisfied with our visit but am not sure the price matches the expectation.

For a restaurant on Open Table this was a very disappointing experience. While we were seated right away, a different server came to wait on us than the one the maitre'd told us was coming. It took forever to get drinks and during the course of the dinner our server, while nice, disappeared for periods of 15-20 minutes at a time. When the food came out one of the entrees was not one which was ordered and then I was asked whether I still wanted to eat mine. Why? When the meal finally came out about 15 minutes later one of the entrees, while the correct entree, had te wrong sides. For the amount of money spent this was not a good experience. It was ashame because the ambience was nice; however, this restaurant does not have its act together.

19th anniversary, reservations for 7 PM, we were seated and it took almost 5 minutes for anyone to approach our table, we received our bread, before anyone even brought water and menu's. We ordered and they brought the salad and my soup, which was great, but them downhill from there. At 8:15, we still did not have our meal. Others had come in after us, got their food and even finished their meal before we even had ours. The manager came over and my husband was very upset. The manager said that he would take care of it. We still waited 1:35 minutes for Prime Rib, cold upon delivery, my husbands steak ordered medium, was brought well done. The manager comp'ed our meal, but seriously, a very stressed evening. Just very disappointed!!

I have been to Cullen's several times; the food is alway good. This was the first time I've eaten in the restaurant part (usually there for lunch and eat in the bar area). The restaurant is well done and it was fairly quiet. They have the Birthday Club which is nice as you get a free entre and the birthday dessert. The service was not up to par. We had to wait a bit for our server. During dinner, we had to ask several times for items like salt and pepper, more water and cream for the coffee. Finally asked another person for the cream. The waiter did apologize for the service saying that he was really busy, etc.

Ordered the ahi tuna medium rare and the center came to the table refrigerator cold. Rather than doing another cut properly, the waitress brought back the same slices grilled once over. now nothing about the tuna was cooked properly. the waitress also said the chef would bring the food back, and he/she never appeared. clearly, the kitchen staff does not know how to prepare such a plate properly.

Wonderful selection of brunch choices from your basic - that is not so basic - waffle to filet and eggs. The Blood Orange Mimosas were great as well however price on web site and in restaurant price is not the same. Cullen's needs to update web site with their new prices, but the web price was honored without question. What was nice about the Brunbh was that you were not forced to have to only order from the Burch menus many establishments have you do. Other menu selections were great!

They have a beautiful building, with everything in place to serve top notch food with great service.. yet they just fail at all the little things. Our server was nice, but unfortunately he was just not a very good waiter. Some of our food was very delicious, while other parts were extremely bland. The kids pasta was spicy.. something where you would actually prefer blander food.

Driving in to Cullen's, the landscape needs some serious attention. Besides the fountain and other things that didn't work, a guy in shorts and a t - shirt picking a guitar and singing off key at the entrance just didn't do it for me. I found it almost embarrassing, especially when you are trying to impress your date with your restaurant selection. Here we are, all dressed up and then we see something out of Deliverance? Bad choice? You decide, I won't be back until they upgrade the act, and get the place to look a little more inviting. Disappointed to say the least.

Few places do we find in our lives that takes us back. Well to me Cullen's is such a place. The decor, staff, structure of the building, the lighting, the live singer...I could keep going. This place is our new place for my wife and I. The waitresses know their menus and wine lists and what accompanies what. There always close by when you need something. The food! Wow! The food is outstanding! Warning though, make sure you don't eat the day of your dinner because they make sure you will have plenty. If you want to go back to the 30's or stay in the 2000's this is the place to be. Outside dining and live bands add to the lost of fun things about this place. A private bar, dance club in the back. All I can say is welcome home!

We are "regulars" at Cullen's. I know they read these reviews and I have always been honest and "real" with them, so here it goes....First of all I want to say that we do love the restaurant and we will continue to go; however, I have noticed that lately you never know what you are going to get quality-wise. On our visit before this one our meal was FANTASTIC! On this visit I ordered the bone-in rib-eye and my fiance' ordered the bone-in short rib. My steak was slightly over-cooked, but we didn't want it to go to waste, so my fiance' and I traded dinners. The short rib was dry and I felt it was left over from the weekend. We also felt that the creme brulee was left over from the weekend. Hopefully better next time.

This was an excellent brunch. The buffet was located in its own room - away from the dining tables. We were seated in the main dining room and the ambience was terrific. The food was hot and excellent - one of the best Easter brunches we have attended. The items were refilled regularly so nothing looked like it was sitting around and drying out. The staff was excellent. The only downside was that the tip of 20% was added even for a table of two. The service was good but do not appreciate the tip being added automatically without notification.

Sure hate to write a bad review since there are so few nice restaurants in Pasadena that are not big national chains ... but our meat was incredibly disappointing. Chewey beef, bland flavor - the accompaniments were delicious, but if this is a steak place, no wonder there were only three other diners in the main room on a Tuesday evening. The bar was crowded - was it party? or was it good drinks? It couldn't possibly have been the food.

A little out of the way for most people but was trying to find a place about halfway for people in our party so this was it. Most of us thought the food was good, only one too salty to eat. Going for brunch? Get the cinnamon roll for an appetizer! Definitely big enough for three or four to share as an appetizer! Service was kind of sketchy. Never got drinks ordered in the bar waiting for all of our party to arrive. No iced tea for most of our meal. Four out of the six of us liked it, the other two not so much. My chicken fried steak was great and I don't usually eat stuff like that but the server convinced me after I had ordered the grilled chicken and someone else ordered the CFS. No room left for dessert though.

First visit. Very disappointed in the quality of the food and service for the high prices. The scallop appetizers were mushy and fishy tasting. Steak was overcooked. The pasta in the pasta/beef entrée was tough and doughy. Save your money and go to SaltGrass Steak House or The Texas Roadhouse for a consistent tasty steak for a lot less money. The only nice thing about this place is the size of the dinning room and quality of building construction and furnishings.

Drove an hour to come to 2012s most romantic. Arrived 10pm. Seated 10:45pm. We were not greeted by a manager or anyone apologetic in that 45minute period. The ambiance in the bar area was ok. Dining area was a not well put together wedding. The lighting was bright. Flowers on only select few tables. Told numerous times kitchen was behind and trying to catch up. Dessert options were not available because they "ran out". By the start of our dinner we were so upset about the wait and service, now we had a select few options. $75 per person. We could have gone to one of our favorites instead of paying that much for subpar food and service. I was embarrassed we even paid for such a bad experience. Price is not an issue for us, but quality is.

I had a reservation, but an hour later I was still not seated. The service was soooo slow after we finally got a table. The food was medium at best, my "side" of asparagus was TWO spears. They were out if the desert I ordered so a Tiramisu was served at it was all whipped cream (worst I have ever had) my husbands chocolate cake was flavorless. I will never go back.
