Culinary Dropout serves the very best in unique gastro-pub fare that quietly seeks out future musical superstars who wouldn't mind being paid whiskey and pretzel bites. We’re not easily definable and even harder to forget. And we did that on purpose so you could come and hang out.

  • "The atmosphere is great and big enough to hold lots of people without feeling crowded. The food is just really good bistro/grill type fare with excellent appetizers. With half the restaurant indoors and half outdoors (by the pool) it's really nice at night."

  • "We stopped by Culinary Dropout at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas before heading to the airport to go home - it was awesome from start the finish! The layout of the restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor seating as well as couches, large tables, etc. Although there were only two of us, it looked like a great place to handle a big group as well. All of the hosts, servers, were friendly and relaxed - not pushy and very helpful in choosing menu items. The food was great - we shared the pretzel appetizer, wedge salad and dark chocolate peanut butter tart. I wish we hadn't shared the tart - it was a great portion, but I wanted my own it was so good! I'm bummed that I don't live closer and can't make this a regular spot for drinks / food."

  • "I thought the menu looked interesting however after arriving and getting a less than warm welcome and waiting for over 10 mins for anyone to come back to our table we were already starting to get concerned. This level of service kept coming with it taking well over 5 mins to even get our drinks. After that it was another 10 mis before anyone came back to check on us. We were told there was some confusion on who was to be serving us. If this had been a very busy night then I might have understood however there could not have been over 20 people in the entire restaurant that seats well into the hundreds. There were employees hanging by the entrance just talking while all this was going on."

  • "My wife and I chose to eat here anticipating she would have a chicken club or the turkey sandwich. Found out they were out of both so she ordered the fried chicken. I got the bistro steak. Simply AMAZING. Steak was a great cut, very tender. Best french fries I've ever had. Wife's fried chicken - also the best I've ever had. Unbelievable food, and great prices on food & drinks for LV."

  • "This was a great evening location for our smallish wedding party (11 people). We wanted a casual/fun dining experience for our guests and Culinary Dropout provided just that. Everyone enjoyed the antipasti selections, variety of drinks, and the jambalaya was a spicy favorite. The staff was awesome; they happily kept our wedding cake (from elsewhere) in their fridge until it was time to serve. My only complaint was that it was really difficult to hear anyone speaking seated more than a few feet away due to the noise level - and that's even without a packed restaurant. It might be better suited to somewhat smaller groups, otherwise you might be playing musical chairs for conversation throughout the night. All in all a great experience."

  • "Remember, this place is in Hard Rock so there is loud hard rock music playing and conversation will be difficult if you have any kind of hearing problem. We ordered the pretzels for an appetizer. It was just myself and my husband so it would have been nice if the server told us how huge this appetizer was because all we could eat was a salad after eating just a portion of the pretzels. We probably wouldnt have ordered the pretzels so we could try a sandwich on the menu. Maybe have half orders of pretzels available."

  • "We used the Culinary Dropout for an end-of-conference group gathering. We wanted a causal atmosphere with a cross-section of appetizers, entrees and drinks, and found Culinary Dropout ideal for this. We had 10 people, and we were able to hang out together casually, and then gather around the table off to one side to continue to visit and unwind. It was a great choice for our gathering."

  • "Very welcoming, everyone we interacted seemed happy to be at work. Husband thought waitress was the best he had ever had. She pointed out parts of the two menus (vices - cocktails and desserts, and the dinner menu) told us her personal favorites and was knowledgable about the items on the menu. Now wondering what is on their brunch menu when it opens in two hours....."

  • "I've been to the restaurant a few times, and it's always been good. Better to sit outside than in, given the great setup they have outside. One feature is the pretzels appetizer, but on this occasion, they came out mixed in terms of warm and cold. Also, our server was very responsive at the beginning, but when it was time of the check, it took quite a while to get his attention, and there was really no excuse, given the few patrons in the restaurant at the time. That said, food quality, other than the pretzels app this time, has been good."

  • "Server was very nice and friendly but was NOT being supported by her bar staff properly. We had a group of about 8 people (all service industry to varying degrees) for Sunday brunch. It wasn't crowded at all but our cocktails took an exorbitantly long time to come out and were served one by one across a ten minute time span. She wasn't set up to win, unfortunately. Do you wait for the slow bartender to make everything and serve all at once as intended or come out one-by-one and annoy everyone who has to look at their drinks but are too polite to consume them before everyone's been served? The rest of the meal was fine with just some minor annoyances but the food was typically great. We continue to eat here regardless of the off days."

The horrible service ruined the evening for our entire group. I have mixed feelings about recommending this restaurant."

  • "Always love coming here. The service today was a bit off but the manager was on top of things and comped some desserts. The beer list has a number of great options and everyone loves the pretzels with cheese dip. The fish and chips were good and the Fried Chicken stole the show as usual."

  • "The only saving graces for our visit to the Dropout on Super Bowl Sunday were the Pabst girls and the wings. Service was pretty slow, although the place packed and noisy, so due consideration. But missed orders and wrong deliveries were evident throughout. Food service was also slow, but the Chicken WIngs were something else - on steroids, huge, and very tasty. Was even eating them with knife and fork! And the Pabst girls were fun, handing out goodies as you ordered PBRs. They kept my attention more so that the actual game! Not sure I'd return for regular service. On the low end of Vegas eateries."

  • "While the food we had was very good, there were multiple items (drinks and food) that were out of stock. Also, the service was very slow and we were there for a couple hours, not necessarily wanting to be. The out of stock items could have been because we were there late (around 9pm), which also could have contributed to the quieter ambiance. And I suppose the server could have thought we wanted to have a relaxed pace meal since we were there with a group of friends. However, since there were not many people left in the restaurant, it would have been nice to get a little more attention from the server."

  • "Nice bar like atmosphere. Not a romantic joint but a cool place to hang out and grab a simple, good bite to eat. Menu is small but very good quality. Food does not arrive quickly, so be patient. Blood Mary's were awesome. My only other favorite would be at Burger Bar so far. I would go back for a simple lunch again."

  • "Poor service (not the waiter) from ordering our drinks. t took about 20 minutes to receive the first one. My wife and I split the fried chicken; luke warm, over fried, not crispy...simply just hard exterior and meatloaf; better than the chicken but not by much. The standout was the soft pretzel and provolone dip apps. Excellent. As many restaurants there are in Vegas, this is not a standout."

Great atmosphere, good vibe/energy in the room. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!!! Being a local, I don't frequent the casinos in the city that often, but I see my visits increasing because of Culinary Dropout!!"

  • "We have eaten at quite a few spots in Vegas and this one was the most surprising in terms of food quality and overall service. Our server and hostess were both pleasant and helpful in making suggestions. The happy hour menu (3-6pm) is great - we loved the pretzels with fondue and the antipasto platter. The prime rib sandwich was divine, and the salad was unique and fresh. Honestly, I've paid more for less. If we were in Vegas for a day, we'd go here!"

  • "This was my second trip to Culinary Dropout and will certainly be the last. The place is needlessly crowded, and the so-called four-top tables barely seat two. The music is atrociously loud, and the crowd is nothing but wall-to-wall hipsters. That all could be forgiven, if the food were worth eating. Both times I have had the same complaint, and my group has always agreed: the food is bald beyond salvation. Totally under-seasoned, no matter what the dish. Even the desserts. The pretzels are good, but don't go any further on the menu."

From the hostess to waiter, to water server and kitchen staff, I was impressed. Food was awesome, get the pretzel and cheese fondue no matter what."

  • "If you have one item off the menu, make it the pretzel balls with fondue. I had the ribs, which were also excellent. My husband had a burger, and said it was very good. One member of our party of four had meatloaf, which was luke warm but tasty. The ambiance is more of a sports bar, and I'll bet it's more exciting during the summer season when the patio is open and there are more guests at the hotel. We took a taxi from the Strip to eat here...it was a bit of a disappointment...they were not busy at 7:30 on a Friday night."
