CuistotGo for the ambianceThe truffle pasta was good, and the salad was excellent. I was disappointed in the spinach flan, lobster claw appetizer and especially the lemon meringue tart for dessert. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was tranquil.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy New Favorite in the Desert!I live in Newport Beach and only get to our home in Palm Desert when my husband drags me there (I love the water he loves to play golf) but this was a special weekend I was going to have lunch with a friend of 40 years that I hadn't seen in 15 years along with her mother and sister. I was bringing my mother and my grown son and his fiance. Not knowing where to have this reunion I relied on OpenTable and websites. I wanted someplace where we could talk and have a leisurely lunch and good food. Cuistot was the PERFECT place the atmosphere was lovely, the wait staff very attentive and food superb! The Chef/Owner stopped by twice to make sure we were pleased. We stayed 3½ hours! It is expensive but worth every dollar! You won't be disappointed!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMid May in the DesertWe had as personalized-as-service-can-be service. Not only a knowledgeable waiter, but a lot of attention from the sommelier, as well as the chef-owner. Needless to say, we had a superb experience food, wine , and comfort wise. Fantastic preparation of the meal, and a superbly crafted wine list, with equally superb pricing. Believe me they certainly have Domaine Romanee Conti on the list, but also a lot of very well selected more modestly prices offerings. Even at that, in virtually every case, they had the "right" vintage rather than the "wrong" vintage in their selections. Bravo.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCuistot deliversWe have dined at Cuistot a number of times over the years and have always found the food and service to be consistent. We recently dined at the restaurant when they were serving two large groups. When we walked in, we were a bit worried we would be "forgotten" by the servers, but it was obvious they tried to keep track of us and we had no issues. Food was great, I always try to go with the specials for that evening. Try to dine on the patio if available and the weather is nice - great ambience.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience. Quiet, greatGreat experience. Quiet, great design, good for more planned dinning out times. Recommend. bit expensive but worth it.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for girlfriend lunchMy friend and I had a lovely lunch at Cuistot. I had the scallop salad which was divine and she had a shrimp salad which she said was yummy as well. Our server was very attentive and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is just lovely. The only thing I didn't like was that apparently they offer fashion shows during lunch (which we were not aware of) and the model was going around from table to table before the show to talk about the store where she models and what they offer. I found that intrusive - I was there to enjoy a nice lunch with a friend who was moving away, not to watch a fashion show, and it put a damper on an otherwise wonderful experience.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost perfect/Except for the front manager, this is an outstanding restaurant. The manager is generally not friendly and his overall manners are lacking. A high end restaurant should have a better representative dealing directly with the public.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Cheese souffle for lunchThe Cheese souffle for lunch was fabulous. Enjoyed a lively room and informal modeling from local retailers.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in town with a greatBest food in town with a great wine list. Our server was extremely helpful and very attentive.
The food was so tasty and the fillet was cooked to perfection, everything on my plate was delicious.
When we were leaving our smiling valet already had our car waiting and cooling in the desert heat, just a perfect place to go. Bernard came by to chat after we had eaten, it was extremely good and I would highly recommend it4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMthe $25 brassiere menu isthe $25 brassiere menu is a great value. many choices. substantial portions. well prepared and beautifully presented.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGo thereThis arguably is the finest restaurant in the Coachella Valley. You can tick off all the pluses but the bottom line is that you can't find any better cuisine, wine selection and service. We loved the Pouilly-Fume, Loire Valley, the Bouillabaisse and the Young Duck Oven Roasted with Spices.
Great way to celebrate my wife's 80th.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA Wonderful ChoiceFor a special occasion or a nice lunch or dinner date, this restaurant is a wonderful choice...4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Bistro 25 fixed priceThe Bistro 25 fixed price 3 course menu is an outstanding value. Many excellent choices offered. This upscale French restaurant has great ambiance, terrific food and an extensive wine list - although somewhat on the expensive side. Definitely worth a visit if anywhere in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot, but not on HolidaysThis is a great fine dining spot...just do not go on a major holiday like Valentine's Day or Mother's Day. They do best when they are not crowded. Floor and reservation management has been an issue for this place for years. having said that, the food is very good and the wait staff is as well. The wine list (and the wine director) are terrific. There are lots of reasonably priced quality wines on the list.
This is a beautiful restaurant, and we continue to dine here, even after a number of issues over the years.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was superbly preparedThe food was superbly prepared and the price was comparable to other restaurants of its magnitude in the area.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Easter brunch outsideOur Easter brunch outside on the lovely Cuistot patio was wonderful. We dined outside in the romantic patio with a fire in the fireplace and the odor of begonias in the nose. My wife had oysters for an appetizer and duck for the main course. I had chosen asparagus soup and braised seabass. The dinner was just perfect.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seabass at lunch was aThe seabass at lunch was a very large portion and was thoughtfully executed. Nice back patio and you get a fashion show from local stores on Fridays.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been coming to the desertWe've been coming to the desert for years and just tried this gem of a restaurant for the first time. What a great find. The service was attentive and timely. The food was beautifully prepared and we were able to hear one another speak without yelling over the clatter of an open kitchen or other diners. Cuistot is not a good restaurant for babies. This one should at least have been removed from the dining room by her mother until she stopped wailing.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful...aThe food was wonderful...a real dining experience...our server, Debbie, was the most professional and pleasant person...she really contributed to the evening. We are going back for dinner later this week. A definite must.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs good, if not better, thanAs good, if not better, than any restaurant we have been in, anyplace or anytime. Consistnt. Not pretentious. A pleasure to go there. We look forward to every visit.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely French restaurant hasLovely French restaurant has large spacious rooms. Reservations were tough to come by - even though the restaurant wasn't full. The wine steward was excellent and helped us make special choices. Great selection of French and American wines ...
They have a prix fixe menu that is a terrific value ... soup and salad were both excellent; the mixed hors doeuvres were disappointing. Main courses varied. The nut crusted fish was very good; steak frites was predictable. The dessert was uninteresting.
Other diners ate off the main menu and enjoyed the Dover Sole.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBeware of Oregon trufflesHad a very nice dinner here, though hit and miss. The hits were the rabbit, scallops, and ravioli appetizer. The misses were a pappardelle with truffles and the service. The truffles were most likely from Oregon which have a very faint truffle flavor as compared to the Italian version. Resulted in a very ordinary dish. Service was very spotty, not up to snuff for a fine dining restaurant2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Cuistot fiveWe have been to Cuistot five times over the past few years (we don't live in the area) and it never disappoints. Service is friendly, genuine, and timely. Fred the Sommelier is the best. We can't wait to go back many times. Everything is excellent!!2/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
