Cuisineurban oasisThe outside tables on a quiet street behind the Fisher Theatre were a wonderful surprise. Service and food were top notch. Handled the theatre rush professionally. I would recommend without hesitation.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal!My husband and I recently spent our anniversary at Cuisine and enjoyed an excellent meal. We each ordered a different tasting menu and we were both impressed. While the pacing was a little unbalanced (my meal had 3 courses and his 6), the preparation of everything was excellent and the portions quite generous. The tuna tartar over risotto cakes was creative and the highlight of my meal. We can't wait to go back!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat diningThis was our first trip to Cuisine. I strongly recommend it, especially on a non-theater night. Take your time to enjoy the excellent food and service.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMCuisineThe food was prepared and plated to perfection. The service team was knowledgeable and outstanding. The ambience was perfect. I cannot wait to go back and try more delicious dishes.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our dinner at CuisineWe enjoyed our dinner at Cuisine a lot. We ended up sitting outside (they are just setting that up now and it's a nice patio in their front yard). Our food was excellent and we had a nice time at a classy eatery. We had not dined at Cuisine in years (having had a not-so-great experience about a decade or so ago). We will be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderfulI've been to Cuisine a number of times and have never had a bad experience. Awesome food, atmosphere and service.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Restaurant and terrificGreat Restaurant and terrific service. Recommended for a great evening at the Fisher Theatre.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPre Fisher Theatre dinnerExcellent place to enjoy a fine dinner before the theatre.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant.Cuisine has long been one of my favorite Detroit restaurants. The meal we had last Saturday was truly outstanding even by the high standards I have come to expect from this establishment.
The tuna appetizer was very good. We also had a pickled vegetable appetizer, which was very good and a special spring surprise: fiddleheads.
I realize this sort of dish is not for everyone, but the veal sweatbreads with fois gras was seriously one of the very best things I have ever eaten in my life, no exaggeration.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMabsolute perfectionSome of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The tuna tartare is the best I have ever had, and my scallops were incredible. I found the staff to be friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend dining at this beautiful establishment if you have the opportunity. We find this to be the case every time we dine here. Even when extremely busy they pay very close attention to detail, and we're overly accommodating to get us to our show on time. Thank you cuisine for providing the caliber of restaurant usually only found in New York or Chicago. We will be back soon.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMprofessional ,friendly staff, professional ,friendly staff, beautiful old house behind the Fisher Theater, and exquisite food!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful menu for DetroitWonderful menu for Detroit Restaurant Week. Everything was very good and set menu had good selections4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal and aWe had a great meal and a great time. Very welcoming. The charcuterie plate was tasty,
the Halibut supreme. And oh those Lyonnaise potatos.
And Sarah our server was a gem. Very attentive not overbearing just lovely4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!We dined early on a Friday and avoided the crowd. DRW selections were enjoyed by all. Halibut was extraordinary. Eva, our server, suggested the brussels sprouts to share for the table and we all thought they were outstanding. The bartender's special martini was a treat. Our table ordered the asparagus and the charcuterie plate as starters, the halibut(sublime) and the pork for mains. All the plates went back empty, except for the pork which was a generous serving and some was carried home. We were thrilled that as other diners arrived, we could still carry on a table conversation easily. We have plans to return for special occasion dining. Cuisine offers delicious fine dining choices in a pleasant atmosphere. The carrot cake was exquisite!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautifully prepared mealBeautifully prepared meal with excellent service. The Diver scallops are exquisite.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCuisine got it right!Cuisine has always served excellent food. The menu selection will change almost weekly based on the availability of quality items. From their fresh baked Rosemary Bread to the simple yet elegant deserts, you will not be disappointed. I have Lobster bisque, Filet Mignon, Lobster Mac and Cheese and a Risotto. The Bisque was perfectly flavored, the Filet was tender with a buttery texture, the Risotto was light, creamy and fluffy, I was too full for the Lobster Mac and Cheese (So that went home). The cheese cake was baked just right and was full of flavor and the reduction served with it was very strong but oh so good. Highly recommend Cuisine.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at Cuisine (Restaurant Week). Loved the setting in a restored townhouse - very relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA restaurant not 54th o be missed!Really enjoyed the restaurant. The food and service was impeccable. I have passed this restaurant so many times even before it became the Cuisine and never took the opportunity to go. Thank you restaurant week for giving me opportunity to sample this restaurant's fare.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious!!!The food was delicious!!! Its close to the Fisher Theatre so perfect for dinner before a show. Since its a small place so when its busy expect some delays...plan your evening a little in advance to be safe.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-theater choiceThe food selection was interesting and well presented. Eva, our server, was attentive and well versed on the offerings. Each person in our party of four order a different main course, and we were all happy with our choices.
When we booked the reservation, we didn't realize it was the beginning of Detroit Restaurant Week. Two of of ordered from the special menu and had the three course meal for $30 which was a real bargain.
Seating upstairs is much quieter than the large dining room on the main floor.
Cuisine is a wonderful restaurant to visit before attending productions at the Fisher Theater.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMCuisine @ CuisineReally enjoyed my meal. I had a slight snafu when my dessert came-a very tempting albeit dairy based parfait. But I'm lactose intolerant-uh oh. A member of the staff suggested sorbet as an alternate option. He brought me a "tasting" portion of 3 gourmet sorbets. Very Nice!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for Theater Goers!Couldn't be more convenient for Fisher Theater diners!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to eat in Detroit.Great place to eat in Detroit. Looks like the most inept workers that plagued some prior visits are no longer with Cuisine.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA true TEMFood is simply fabulous, ambiance is cozy and the service always exquisite! We always dine here before the theatre and have never been disappointed.
On Saturday, we had a salad before our entre with a dressing that was absolutely divine.
A true GEM!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCuisine serves the best andCuisine serves the best and most creative dishes in Metro Detroit, and has been doing it for years. Quiet and romantic, every course is expertly prepared and the results are amazing.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue fine dining.Truly a gourmet restaurant in detroit. We both chose one of the progression menus, with five or six courses chosen by the chef to go together. Everything was excellent. Perfectly done and delicately sauced scallops, amazing braised short ribs and prime rib, and quinoa with a nonsweet strawberry sauce. My menu was the vegetarian, and though I can't describe the courses well, they were all surprisingly good and I would recommend without reservation. Do note, this is fine dining, it will take a couple of hours, plan accordingly. If you're in a hurry, there are plenty of other fair choices, but food this good takes time. It's well worth it.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful menu selection andWonderful menu selection and service. delicious.
However, it was a VERY limited menu with very little to choose from.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMCuisine is our regular stopCuisine is our regular stop for dinner before a show at the Fisher. The restaurant has made many great improvements in the Menu designed to help cope with the the before Theatre rush. Our food was excellent, our service was great and we were out in plenty of time to see Book of Mormon. I would suggest you arrive at the restaurant and be at your table no later than 6:00 (for an 8:00 show) in order to give yourself enough time to enjoy the the great food !3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen we first arrived it wasWhen we first arrived it was quiet and cozy! But as more people arrived you could not hear anyone at your own table! Cuisine is the perfect place to dine and go on to the Theater. Great location!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had thought we'd neverWe had thought we'd never return to Cuisine after dining there last year before a performance at the Fisher Theatre. The service that evening was unbelievably slow. We did return just this week, though, as we were attending the Fisher Theatre again and it is just across the street. And we were glad that we did! The menu, though somewhat limited, was appealing, the food was excellent, and the waitress was marvelous. What a lovely pre-theatre meal it was!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined on a busy night butWe dined on a busy night but were impressed how well all waiters, bartenders, cooks, etc. pitched in to make the service as efficient as possible with the crowd. The only hickup came after meal when my hot tea arrived as cold tea. Forgiven.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience on anWonderful experience on an hectic evening. With all the tables hoping to make the curtain at the Fisher Theatre, the staff was overwhelmed with an impatient crowd. Not helped by a new assistant that was clearly over her head ( she was over her head as a hostess on prior visits too). We paced ourselves accordingly, so had a great meal and with plenty of time.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodSpecial menu for theater goers is an excellent idea. It assures on-time arrival to the Fisher. They also serve a good-size drink. We were still talking about our meal the next day.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal pre theater.Wonderful meal pre theater. Food and ambiance very lovely. Very talented chef. Appropriate price structure and good drinks. Unfortunately, in this economic era, and in this city, many folks cannot enjoy this lovely spot as often as we would like to.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing FoodThis is by far our favorite place to go when in Detroit.
