Diner Reviews
  • "Service and food were very good. Our party of five enjoyed our brunch, JH Hash & Eggs were delicious. A slight bit disappointing there was not a special menu for Easter. I will definitely return to Cucina Pazzo for brunch or anytime."

  • "I waited until the last minute to make reservations for Easter Brunch and was happy that Cucina Pazzo had an open table when we needed it. I have been here for dinner before and loved it. Brunch was awesome too and everyone loved their choices. I've definitely added this restaurant to my "go to" list in St. Louis."

  • "Delish pasta served piping hot! We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and service. Appetizers were interesting too!"

  • "The food was excellent w/ lots of great choices. The polenta appetizer was very good w/ great flavor & the pastas were so fresh- can't wait to go back again!!"

  • "There was nothing wrong with this place, but then again, nothing noteworthy. If you like a noisy spot with reasonably good food at reasonably good prices, enjoy!"

  • "When my family and friends visit from San Francisco or New York, this is the only restaurant in the CWE I take them to. The food is great, the staff always friendly. There is no better eating experience in the CWE. "

  • "Our return trip to this restaurant followed an earlier and excellent brunch. This dinner was not. Our chopped salad starter wasn't particularly fresh. And yes, what you have heard about ridiculously simall sized portions is true. My risotto was ok, not very hot, and not nearly the equal of a few other places in town. Our friend's scallops came three in the order! My wife's veal was a single slice and was only ok. Prices are average and wine is reasonably priced. We were delighted by our first experience here but this dinner was a serious disappointment."

  • "A friend and I tried this spot for the first time this week. It was wonderful! The menu was interesting, varied and appealing. We had a hard time deciding what to order as the selection all sounded good. We decided upon the swordfish and pappardelle, both outstanding dishes. The staff was warm, welcoming and enthusiastic. We will definitely be back. "

  • "We had reservations for an early dinner on a weeknight. Very quiet when we arrived and we received unbelievable attention. the service was excellent, the food was excellent. By the time we left the restaurant was filling up. Fantastic dining experience. Will go back frequently. "

  • "We had been to Cucina Pazzo for dinner and really enjoyed it, so looked for an opportunity to try brunch. The selection of items was really good. I especially liked that you could order a la cart items to create your own breakfast place. Portion sizes were plenty, but not huge, which we liked. I look forward to going again!"

  • "I do not eat a lot of pasta due to carbs, calories, etc. But I have no problem throwing that motto out of the door when dining at Cucina Pazzo. The food is delicious."

  • "Overall we had a great night at Cucina Pazzo by Justin. The outside seating was delightful and the food tasted very good. Despite the food coming out of the kitchen very quickly, we both wished each of our entrees was a little warmer. They just weren't that hot. Our server was very nice, but we thought it a bit strange she asked if we cared for dessert before we finished our meals."

  • "The pancakes with lemon ricotta cream are delicious. Nice variety and flexibilty on menu. Comfortable atmosphere for all."

From out sampler appetizer to our escalope salad to our entree , lobster risotto and linguine with shrimp ! Fresh ingredients and prepared perfectly !"

  • "This is the second time I have visited Cucina Pazzo and both times were spectacular! The food is outstanding. Every morsel was delicious!! The service was wonderful. I definitely recommend it to all of my friends!"

  • "I moved the reservation back to 9:45 when my wife's appointment was running late. The manager, Joshua then called to offer a $20 gift card and we could come another day. I explained where we were and he insisted we come in and they would wait for us. My wife had swordfish and I the cioppino! Both were superb as was the brunello!"

  • "First time definitely won't be the last! Wonderful menu selection and our two entrees were delicious! Lobster rissoto was amazing. The papardelle was out of this world-braised shortribs were melt in your mouth."

  • "I have had dinner at Cucina Pazzo several times now, and it just keeps getting better! The caprese salad with burrata cheese is outstanding, and their daily house-made pastas are fantastic. Still the best restaurant in the CWE."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Pastas so fresh and meticulously crafted. Fantastic fare with a great culinary flair that is not your everyday pasta. Portions are plenty big but not overwhelmingly large like some places."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "Everything was delicious. Loved the mussels and side dishes. Service was great, but we were, however the only patrons in the dining room which is sad. Hope it was just a slow evening and that the restaurant succeeds."

  • "This was our first time at Cucina Pazzo, and won't be our last. As fans of Tavern we wanted to check out Justin's new place. Split a caprese salad (fresh burrata cheese that was creamier than any mozzarella we've ever had). Joe tried the pasta with tomatos while I got gnudi with flash fried basil in a light tomato sauce. Both outstanding! For dessert we had the tiramisu canoli, served with a thin slice of lemony cheese cake, raspberry gelato and a blueberry compote on top. Excellent! We also had some prosecco to start and a glass of their Montepulciano red wine. The serving sizes were perfect for lunch - not so large that you have to go home and nap. We can't wait to go back for brunch and for dinner. We highly recommend!"

  • "The mussel special appetizer was fabulous, and the brussel sprout hash equally good. But it was the Nutella souffle that made me swoon! Service was perfect. Only quibble was with the noise level. It was beyond energetic to deafening. I will return, but not on Friday night at 7 pm which is likely peak noise level."

  • "The food here is wonderful, especially the pastas. Bread and dipping sauce fantastic. The portions are on the smaller side so order accordingly. Small pours on the wine, get a bottle!"

  • "Excellent Food and service. The menu is varied and every item we have tried (we have been there 3 times) has been excellently prepared. great neighborhood restaurant, and worth a trip to the Central West End!"

  • "Went with a group for brunch and everyone was very happy with our meals and service"

  • "The food and service were excellent. Will definitely visit again for the food, although the restaurant noise level made it difficult to hear the conversation with my dinner mates. There was also a very chilly vent blowing directly toward our table. My otherwise delicious scallops were cool!"

  • "The new owner has a hit! The food is delicious with great presentation! And be sure to save room for dessert! It was an outstanding meal! It would be nice if they could find some ways to muffle the noise. On a crowded Saturday night, the noise is almost overwhelming."

  • "After several months Cucina Pazzo is still going strong. Great food, great service."

  • "We live in the 'hood, so have frequented Cucina several times now. We are always impressed with the service and the food continues to get better each time. We took our 17 month old son in for an early dinner. Of course it was a night he'd rather be running around, so our dinner was quick but delicious. The kitchen prepared penne and carrots in sauce and when it wasn't quite right to a 17 mo old, they offered to fix it in any way possible. We felt this was gracious but too much effort. He was just having a picky night. All to say, it was the perfect dinner the next night as leftovers and he ate every bite. Thank you, Cucina and your great staff. You gave two parents who needed a night out a nice little break. We'll be back!"

  • "Bar area slow & noisy - Bartender was almost painfully slow. Would do better 2 hone menu & not try 2 offer EVERYTHING. Tables & chairs small, get very crowded, no one offered 2 take coats.Meatball appetizer was 2 spicy and in adorable black iron tiny pot(like tiny single time focaccia impossible to get out w/o making a mess) needs cutting, hard 2 do both s/b turned out onto plate in front of diner.Shortribs w/gorgonzola, polenta & B Sprouts was decent but all the same color; polenta was runny. Pasta dishes should have been better considering this is supposed to be their forte. Staff doesn't/can't really help with limited wine list. If they fix size & spacing of tables, hone menu, educate staff & tighten up the kitchen they could do better"

  • "Cucina was incredible; housemade selections in a gorgeous old brick and mortar building. Local folks own and serve in this great find! Appetizers were great-we had the calamari and split a chop salad. The hand made pasta, with meat, vegetarian and seafood options is a must try for any visit-but many great things on the menu! We will go back! The atmosphere was perfect for date night and the service was friendly, prompt and very efficient."

  • "Happy to see the Tavern expand location wise!!! Food options were many and many were quite unique - can easily try many different appetizer-like options without going overboard on an entrée... that's normally my preference! I want to try everything!!! I'll definitely be back! Best of luck to the owners although we will all miss Duff's : ("

  • "Food is over worked, over thought out. Back to basics?"
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "When we heard that Justin from The Tavern had opened his own restaurant, we looked forward to trying it. We finally went Saturday night and loved it! They have transformed the Duff's Restaurant space into a much more cool, modern restaurant. The food portions and flavors were perfect, and we are already looking forward to going back."

  • "Enjoyed our food very much. Good service, friendly and efficient. Recommend the chicken salsiccia appetizer and the swordfish entreé...loved that the food was served in piping hot dishes. We will be back with some friends!"

  • "I'm not usually one for venturing outside of chainland like Macaroni Grill or Carrabba's, but Cucina Pazza had excellent service, delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again!"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The food was still outstanding but this time the noise level was so bad it disrupted our meal. And our server was rushing us through telling us the kitchen was pushing him. He was also interrupting our evening unnecessarily. The decor needs something to cushion the acoustics. And the male & female signs on the restrooms offended the one of the people we were with."
