  • "I had heard that this was a good restaurant, but being in a former Chevy's, we did not know what to expect. We met Augusto while checking out the wine section in the entry area. His knowledge of their wine list was impressive. It was a pleasure talking with him to choose a wine for our meal. He even gave us a sample of one of the popular wines by the glass and told us of his favorite items on the menu. We followed most of his suggestions and had an amazing dinner. I also recommend all of the following: the beet salad, the stuffed zucchini flowers, the gnocchi neri with lobster, the polenta of the day and the duck pasta. They all went wonderfully with our Perussa Barolo. I can't wait for a return visit."

The food was amazing, the service excellent, the ambience incredible but the noise level was extremely high, so we had to leave the restaurant after our meal and go to a coffee shop to discuss our books.   • "I brought my boss and two other coworkers here for lunch. The ambiance was comfortable inviting and very easy to Carry on a conversation and be heard. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I even convinced everyone to try squash blossoms and they loved them. My only critique Was the chopped salad was tasty but lack something. Croutons were nothing to get excited about I expected more. Definitely would recommend to anyone."

  • "Yelp reviews led us here for a birthday dinner and we were not disappointed! I was nervous that it might be a little stuffy considering it's in Del Mar but the decor was fun and refreshing, the service was top notch and the pricing was what you should expect of any worth-your-money Italian restaurant. Our party had pizzas, the short rib pappardelle, the ragu special with pork cheek and a potato mash, the squash blossom appetizer and tiramisu for dessert. Everyone was very happy with their food! We will definitely dine here again. One of the things that i really like about this place is that it can be whatever you want it to be; a casual stop for a bite, a sweet date night, a fun outing with friends...this place is worth stopping by :)"

  • "As first-timers, we liked that the vibrant feel of the restaurant did not get in the way of easy conversation. All 4 of us liked our meals - I really liked my Arctic Char over Kale in a delicious sauce and the Black pepper Orecchiette both with and without sausage was a hit. as was the lamb. Our waitress seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and was patient answering our questions. Will definitely return to try more dishes!"

  • "If the noise level at night drives you nuts at Cucina Enoteca, try having lunch here instead. It's quiet, sunny and lovely. The food we had a lunch was more carefully prepared than our evening exoeriences here, probably since the place wasn't completely packed. Every dish we ordered was delectable, fresh and beautifully prepared. Beet salad, squash blossoms and Arctic char--all fantastic. Plenty of space for good conversation, and if you want an ocean breeze, try the upstairs veranda. Highly recommend."

I had to move our table to a communal table in the corner to find a way to have a conversation with my husband. We were seated between a loud party of 6 and a party of 4….Really?   • "The food at this location was just as amazing as the location in Bankers Hill. The décor was country chic of sorts. Our server started out strong but then fizzled out service-wise. We saw the table attendants more than her. She only checked on us twice while the food was out. She actually checked in on us more when hassling us about the dessert order than anything (which I'm not sure was so important after she ignored us for the 2 hours prior). We ordered a mason jar with roasted garlic and burrata which was amazing. Then had the beet salad and shared a foraged mushroom pizza and the short rib parpadelle. All of it was very delicious. We also had their apple infused bourbon which was so nice and oaky, a perfect dinner drink."

Not so with Cucina Enoteca service consistently good, food from visit to visit, delicious. Atmosphere gets better and better. This restaurant has the blueprint for success."

  • "I had lunch at Cucina Enoteca with a friend this week. I have eaten there before, and as before, the food was good, the service was good, and the wine was good, albeit expensive. ($17 a glass). Unfortunately, the hostess seated two women with a baby and a toddler next to us, immediately after seating us. The children were cranky, whiney, loud, and the toddler refused to stay seated. Unfortunately, their presence pretty much polluted the entire interior environment of the restaurant. The experience for us, and I imagine most of the other diners in the restaurant, was not the best. Why should these unbearable children always be seated smack dab in the middle of restaurants?"

  • "a hot spot with great food and terrible service! i had a 9:45pm reservastion and didn't get seated until 10:15pm. No accomodation - like a free drink - made even though there were a host of open tables. FInally, when we did get seated, we were placed in about the WORST table in the place. If the restaurant had been packed MAYBE just maybe i would have given the place a second chance. Terribly disappointing."

  • "Loved this place! Couldn't get a resie for 6:30--only 6 or 7. After being there for almost two hours, I noted 3-4 tables always empty. Suspect they keep tables for walk ins, so next time I'll arrive when I want to and not worry too much about a resie. Anyway, great good! I make fried squash blossoms a lot and these were divine--ditto their pancetta and brussels sprouts pizza. Just delish!"

  • "With all the national chain restaurants in San Diego, it is so nice and refreshing to find a true dining experience. We ate slow and enjoyed every course. Each plate was well thought out with great flavors and perfect portions. Our server was knowledgeable, very attentive and offered great feedback when asked. The decor is clever and creative. The little touches like the doggy bag valet are what makes Cucina Enoteca unique. By far and away our new favorite restaurant in town. Highly recommended!!"
