  • "Overall, it's a very nice place for dinner. Very quiet as dinner is not busy. However, remember to bring a jacket or sweater as the air conditioning in the restaurant is at its max so it feels like you're in a freezer."

  • "Ultra Supper Club is by far, the best food I have ever had - and I am hard to please!! First of all the ambiance is wonderful if not a bit loud. I went for Summerliscious with my sister and we both agreed (as aspiring cooks) that Ultra has become our new obsession. It was my first time having gazpacho and the watermelon-fennel one they served was absolutely delicious and a treat for the senses! The cheese on top really gave it an extra kick. My sister and I shared the vegetable orecchiette & chicken marsala- loved the lentils and golden raisins! For dessert I had the house-made sorbet and it tasted as good as it looked. I live out of town but cannot wait to come back! Ultra will definitely be a part of every Toronto trip from now on."

  • "Hip and trendy, modern and unique decor, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed the summerlicious menu, my appetizer, beautiful, a cool and refreshing watermelon gazpacho. My main a braised boneless short rib which was flavorful and fork tender, however was served with over spiced sides which ruined the overall dish for me. Dessert a stunning homemade sorbet served with seasonal berries which was a perfect ending to the evening. My criticism about their summerlicious menu was that all three options for mains were very heavy options for warm summer evenings, I would have love to have seen some lighter options such as a fresh seafood dish. Overall however I would say a very good meal"

  • "The night was overall lovely, great cocktails, nice ambiance in the place! We decided to have a drink at the bar first, no rush was put on us to take our seat at the table. Two of my group choose the vegestarian vegetarian option and went for the gnocchi for a main and were a little disappointed in it, they felt it lacked a wow taste. I was happy with my meal, hot smoked salmon to start, then lamb shank for a main (broccoli was a little on the overdone side) but the meat fell off the shank which was perfect. Followed by a chocolate tart for dessert which was what any girl would enjoy! I would go back and dine there again. The staff were very helpful and service was great."

  • "Our server was in-your-face, the food wasn't on par with the price and I could barely taste or feel the alcohol in my expensive cocktail, but otherwise the ambience, decor and energy made up for it. It's an older Gen X, upwardly mobile crowd, not a place to go cruising (if that's your intention) but definitely a place to bring your friends and have a nice time."

  • "Ultra Supper Club isn't the first restaurant in Toronto to serve us right out of coming back. What is it with Toronto waiters ambushing my plate before I've finished? What infuriates me is they grab my plate while they're asking to remove it. Furthermore, please don't even touch my plate unless my dining companion has finished either. Finished means both knife and fork are coupled and we are no longer chewing. P.S. Waiters like to ask if I'm 'still working on it' when I'm eating. It's not a job to eat, ok? Still enjoying the food? You bet."

  • "Food was pretty good. They make their flatbreads and desserts fresh in house which is always a bonus. Our table ordered salads - both very good, as well as the corn soup. This was very spicy and the server should have mentioned that. Presentation of main dishes were lovely, however, the gnocchi was extremely bland. This is a shame since the pasta itself was delicate and fresh. The ambience was upscale and trendy and candle-lit. Appropriate for a nice date. The decor is a dark red with black and mirrors. Layout is open and the ceilings are very high. We were there at 6:30pm for dinner and there was only 1 other table. I thought it would be a more popular spot, but I suppose it is still a bar at heart. Waiter knowledgable but very aloof"

  • "Cool place! Neat environment to dine. Great service, attentive, but not overly so. Let you enjoy your meal. The food was excellent. The lamb duo to die for. The side of crispy asparagus (in a tempura batter) and goat cheese mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. Highly recommend this to anyone."

  • "The food and service were very good. It was off putting, however, that we were allotted a two hour window an thus felt rushed during the meal. The service was excellent and the spacing of the courses worked very well. When asked if we would like anything else at the end of the meal we had to decline because we were too close to our two hour time limit. We therefore went to Starbuks for our coffee. In actuality, two hours is usually long enough to eat a three course meal, but the fact that the hostess was very clear with us about the limit made me check my watch constantly and did take something away from what, otherwise, was an very nice evening. Our server was fantastic."

Inside, it was too cold (much colder than outside so if you were in summer attire which was suitable for the outside temperatures AND a cardigan, you were still freezing.) It was too dark. What really annoyed me was the volume of the music. (the musice itself was good though). I am not against the "restaurant turns club" concept but if I have a reservation for 8 pm and it is already then so noisy that I can hardly understand what my friend is saying, then something is wrong. This is a place for people who have nothing to say to each other."

The food was great bt a bit on the pricey end. meaning i's great if yo get the value but when you order lobster tacos for $$ and only get a 25%filled taco thats 2 inches long, you'd expect the taco to be full at least.   • "Very sophisticated setting - quieter than usual when we went, but generally a very busy place as the night gets closer to midnight. Food was well presented, tasty and original - service was exceptional - wine list is fairly extensive. Highly recommended for a great night out - if you want to be in the scene - book for 9 pm or later - if you want to have a quieter meal go before 8 pm. In summer there is a great outdoor upper patio with great views of the city."

My goat cheese tart had a very tough pastry shell and the duck and squab were both quite chewy. Too bad. When you spend that kind of money you want really good food."

  • "ultra supper club was terrible and so is opentable. you confirmed this reservation for me and i took a very important client there to eat dinner. we got out of a nice car which drove off of course as we walked about 20 feet to enter the place only to be told that it was closed for the holiday. they were rude, and even the too-cool-for-school manager was a bump on a log, wouldn't work for me if i owned a sno-cone hut. they said we could have a drink if we wanted upstairs on the patio. i was furious. so my party of 3 walked around in suits in the sun and eventually got into a broke down golf cart-sized taxi and went to Harbor Sixty Steakhouse where we enjoyed a nice dinner. not good on your part."

  • "The wait staff need training on the torder of a meal. Our appetizer & bottle of wine showed up before our cocktails did. We asked that they take it all away until after we received & finished our cocktails-they ignored us. As a result, my appetizer was cold by the time we were ready to eat. The waiter kept forgetting to pour our wine. Later, while he tried to get us to order an after-dinner drink, I poured my own wine in front of him and said that we'd like to finish our wine before ordering anything else - he looked sour. We heard wonderful things about Ultra, and we would have easily come back for dinner (spending $300+ is not unusual), but after Summerlicious, we're telling people there are much better places to try."

  • "We arrived promptly for our reservation and were told we'd have to wait for a table despite there being 6 to 8 visibly vacant tables. This is no doubt a ploy to sell more drinks in the 'lounge'. We waited 15 minutes staring at the empty tables before I had to go and request we be seated. We were seated immediately when I pressed the matter which begs the question; why was the wait. ridiculous. The food was okay, certainly you can get a better meal for the price around the corner at someplace like Jules, but if you want to impress a ditzy date they may be dazzled by the 'scene'. Too bad that the service was so insultingly bad (it didn't improve much once we were finally seated) because a passably pleasant meal became nominally annoying."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Only complaint we have would have been our server, whom we felt was not very professional. There were only 4 of us dining, he could not remember our drink orders and he was not very knowledgeable with the menu (eventhough the item in question was a regular menu item and NOT a summerlicious special). He brought the wrong drink to one of our guests and he dropped a spoon on our guest(thankfully not a knife)! The general waitstaff who brought our eppetizer/entree & refilled our water were FANTASTIC! They were pleasant AND they were able to answer our question regarding the menu!"

  • "The meal was delicious and the service was good until dessert. There was a mix up in the kitchen and our orders didn't go through. We waited at least 45 minutes for dessert, and this was Summerlicious, so there was only 2 choices and we ordered them at the beginning of the meal. The manager and waitress both apologized, but it would have been nice if they offered to take one of the bottles of wine off our bill, or the two $5.00 sides that we ordered for the table, just to make up for it. The bubulubu was very yummy once we got it."

  • "When we arrived we were asked to have a seat in the lounge while are table was being prepared. We waited for over 15 minutes watching 3 other couples come in and receive tables before us. I finally went back to the hostess where it became very clear that she had forgotten about us. The food was nothing outstanding, and I found the halibut with the japanese twist not appealing. The desert consisted of two options which were both a mouse cake of some sort. They were not very appealing and tasted store bought. Before my dessert plate was removed I could see the waiter coming over with the bill. I think he realized that was poor form so he removed my plate but came back right away with the bill (no customers were waiting to be seated)."
