Entertainment: After dinner hours, on Fridays, Saturdays and for special events, Cuba Libre clears the tables and turns up the Latin rhythm as professional salsa dancers perform choreographed floor shows in the dining room. Between shows guests dance to a DJ spinning tropical dance, salsa, merengue, bachata & Latin house.

Cuba Libre features a contemporary interpretation of traditional Cuban cuisine and a broad base of authentic Cuban cocktails, including the largest selection of rum in Philadelphia. The restaurant’s interior has a beautifully weathered historical feel. The materials combine warm mahogany and oak,… cracked tile, painted plaster, exposed concrete and brick, and iron railings. With iron balconies overlooking a courtyard, a dramatic 30-foot ceiling, and paddle fans turning lazily, the space looks and feels like a street in Old Havana in the mid 1950s. Cuba Libre will not accept reservation from diners under the age of 21 after 9PM on Friday and Saturday, and the dress code for Friday and Saturday is upscale casual.Continued

"I'd specified that my reservation for 10 was for a meeting and that we wanted to do happy hour. They wouldn't seat us until all 10 were there (very difficult for an informal meeting), so they escorted us to the bar upstairs where we were asked to stay exclusively at the bar, where all 10 of us were unable to talk as a group. They manager was very unaccommodating when we asked to be able to do happy hour at a table, event though we said we wouldn't be more than an hour (way before the dinner rush) and the entirety of the upstairs tables were empty. It was ridiculous. Eventually, I had to ask to host what to do, and agreed to order some food at the table. It ended up being a costly, stressful experience. Won't return."

"I would continue going to Cuba Libre's brunch just for the Cafe Cuba Libres (signature coffee with steamed coconut milk). I know, it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but trust me, it's a must-try for any coffee drinker! We did the new AYCE brunch tasting menu which, for 4 people, meant A LOT of amazing food. My personal favorites are the Torta de Cangrejo Benedict, Carne de Cangrejo Ceviche and the Canasta de Pan (if only for the mango butter).

We had a great weather day, so the front windows and "patio" seating were open which made for a nice airy feel.

This continues to be one of my favorite brunches in the city! Highly recommend."

"Main dish advertised as getting a taste of cuba- $66.00 (for 2) and it was a plate of 2 shrimp, 2 small chicken breasts, 2 types of steak (about 10 ounces); no beans, no rice, no vegetables. The appetizer that was advertised as Black Bean Hummus was a smear of mashed black beans on the bottom of a bowl the size of a ramekin. Maybe this is what city dinning is about- I guess I'll stay out of the city then."

"Went with my daughter and her fiance to celebrate their engagement. She chose the venue, as it's long been her Philly favorite, & one that I've enjoyed in the past, too. It's as good as ever - we had the classics: Ropa Vieja, Lechon Asado, and Vaca Frita - all excellently prepared and presented - you can't go wrong with these! Very good and friendly service, an excellent bar, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're on a movie set."

"Cuba Libre offers a wide selection of tapas and full-plate dinner selections to satisfy any craving, representing both traditional and contemporary Cuban cuisine. The Pescada de Oriente (striped bass) was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful, and the traditional Arroz con Pollo was very tasty. For a great experience, start off with 2-3 small plates to share, then choose a dinner entree. Add a classic mojito -- among the best you'll find anywhere -- to round out a wonderful dinner experience! If possible, try to get a table in the main room downstairs, which beautifully creates the ambiance of an old Havana street scene. The side room upstairs is a bit isolated and lacks the same ambiance created in the rest of the restaurant."
