Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar - OrlandoMother's Day DinnerI made reservations at this restaurant for my Mother's Day Dinner the Saturday evening prior to Mother's Day. Arrived to an almost empty house at 6:00 on a Saturday evening, but that quickly changed. The service was attentive but not overly so. Food was prepared perfectly from the warm pressed bread that was served immediately at the table to the entrees. Power Manager in a waiter were awesome they were very sympathetic and made us feel cared for . manager did take care of us and we will visit next time we come back to Orlando5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Food, Gem of a RestaurantFood is fabulous, couldn't decide if the Philadelphia location or the Orlando location has better food. In the end, both are fabulous and there is no reason to decide. Loved watching the dancers on the dance floor from up above. The food is well prepared, had great flavors, right amounts of spice and heat. When my Black Bean soup did not come out with the three other appetizers, everyone jumped into action to see why it was missed, It hit the table less than a minute later with more apologies than necessary.
Manager came by and checked in with diners multiple times, received a follow up call the next day to make sure every thing was up to par. Not only was our server knowledgeable about the different meals and how each one was made, but he went above and beyond to make sure each dish we ordered fit within our eating requirements (gluten and dairy free). He made suggestions on the menu and made several trips to the kitchen and back to double check on food allergies. YouCuba Libre is fabulous. You are immediately transported back to Havana! It is great for indoor or outdoor dining. Their bar area is beautiful, comfortable and fully stocked with many great variations of the traditional Mojito's. The menu has many traditional Cuban favorites done beautifully with light bites to full entrees. The staff is caring, welcoming, friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion as they make it even more special for you. When we are in Orlando, we never miss a chance to go to Cuba Libre. Waitress explained kitchen is indoors and upstairs (we were sitting outside). It takes you through their menu, one bite at a time. It's amazing how much food there is for just one person. Mariquitas Cubanas with trio of dips (smoked marlin salad) was da bomb! Churrasco a la Cubana (skirt steak) was juicy and flavorful. Paella de Mariscos was very good as well - lots of seafood and super-flavorful rice.
