Wonderful atmosphere. Wait staff is terriffic. My Husband and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and his birthday here on 5/18/13. We make the trip to Atlantic City at least twice a year and usually stay at the Tropicana. She can find fault with almost any food venue. But this is the one restaurant she raves about to all her friends. And she is right. Everything we chose was perfect. Even the pitcher of Mango Mojotis was a real treat. Last year I brought my Mom here for Mother's Day. This year we came back with my sister and my niece. We started with the house salad - the dressing was super tasty, and the avocado in it was perfectly ripe. The yucca is a nice touch too that you really don't get anywhere else. I asked for my Primo Mojito not too sweet and it was just right. My husband's dinner was excellent - one of the new chicken dishes on the menu - but unfortunately my dinner was just so-so. I had the Mango Shrimp and for $24 I expected more than 5 shrimp and 2 pieces of bok choy, and the shrimp were quite overcooked. The whole staff is friendly and smiling, service is great. The food is very delicious and not disappointed at all. We had the Vaca Frita and the Ropa Vieja and ate the whole plate. They kind of Kicked us out because they were transferring it into a club after our meal. Should of told us that when we made a late reservation. Thought it was a little rude that the waitress opened the check holder (cigar box) to look a the tip in front of us ( Tipped 20%). Service was prompt and our server was very helpful. He had a good knowledge of the menu and was able to answer the questions we had. We had the Empanadas and a couple drinks before dinner. My wife had Cosmos and I had the Paradise Punch and a Havana Iced Tea. Good stuff! For dinner I had Vaca Frita which is skirt steak with garlic and lime with sides of rice and beans. The meat was flavorful but a little tough. My wife had Mango BBQ Shrimp and she said it was very good. I tried it and liked it. The waiter offered dessert but we declined, however I did sample a sipping rum from their huge selection! Pyrat XO Reserve. The food was delicious and the after hours dancing was incredible as well. The only thing I didnt like was the spacing between the tables. You could basically reach out and touch the person seating next to you as well as hear their conversation. Even though we arrived a few minutes early we were greeted with a smile by the Hostess and promptly escorted to our table. Our waiter, Eddie arrived shortly thereafter, greeted us and asked if we've ever been to Cuba Libre before, which we had. My wife and I had already made up our minds that we would each have the "15 Tastes of Cuba" meal. As the name describes this is a appetizer to dessert feast of small plates or "tapas" comprised of menu items. Some of the plates are periodically substituted so the likelihood of two presentations over time being the same is small.
