Diner Reviews
  • "Had dinner with my gf and had an enjoyable experience. The server was very attentive and knowledgable. The appetizers were pretty good, especially the cuban spring rolls though pricey for 2. I ordered the arroz con pollo and my gf ordered the grilled chicken and both were very good. I initially thought my entree was small but I was pretty full after I was done. The drinks looked great but it was a school night so I had to refrain. I'd definitely dine there again but would like to go during one of the event nights. I'm sure we'd have a great time."

  • "my wife can not eat spicy food. asked the waiter if the paella was spicy. he said it was not. both of us ordered it. it was spicy. told the waiter. he said it's not supposed to be. that being the case all she ate was the shell fish. i have had better paella in a diner. we have eaten here in the past and it was good. i guess this changed. originally i made reservations for 2 at 6 pm. the call i got confirming the reservation stated i had a reservation for 6 at 9 pm. i had to call to correct this. the girl then said ok, reservation for 6 at 6 pm so i corrected this. my wife's cousin had the steak and that was excellent and the desert was excellent. so maybe we'll come back for a desert"

  • "I just love Cuba Libre!! Every time I've eaten here. Great menu and flavors! Drinks and service also great! Try the sangria, it's strong, fruity and tasty."

  • "I ordered the salmon and it was paired with soggy noodles. It was a Thursday night and the bar was closing at 10:00 even though the nightclub (Club Providence) did not open until 11:00. By the way, Club Providence was excellent."

  • "The hostesses were rude to me & said my reservation wasn't in the computer - good thing I had the confirmation email & a record of their phone # from the day before & the waiter was a bit cranky but overall it was a great choice for a birthday outing with the girls. Very lively ! The food was delicious but the mango mojitos were the best ! A definite new favorite treat :-) And you can go dancing there after 11 - well worth ordering an entree for no cover charge !"

  • "Went with a bunch of friends to celebrate a special occasion. The place is really cool looking and almost all of the food was great. The service probably could have been a bit more attentive, and one steak came out a bit cold, but they were glad to remedy the situation. The check came in a cigar box, which i thought was a nice touch."

  • "We celebrated an anniversary, but could barely hear ourselves over the nearby bachelor party table of ten young guys. They had a great time. We wound up sitting side by side which was a little romantic."

  • "I thought the restaurant and bar had tons of flavor; however, it would be useful if the restaurant possibly introduced a gluten free meal to some extend. I loved the pickled okra salad; which was nice. The restaurant created an atmosphere that was really nice. Also, I loved the music; however, I wish it could've been a little more diverse with the selection from the Deejay."

  • "Slightly disappointed in regards to this... sat next to a child and sloppy parent ck Clearly noting there is a dress policy and age policy...it was 8pm. Food was excellent."

  • "My girlfriend and I ate there and had an incredible meal. Empanadas, ceviche, ropa vieja, vaca, desserts, and to wash it all down mojitos. On vacation, and although I did not have the best of luck in the casino, the meal made my night. Too bad I live in Delaware or I would definitely eat there more often. Our waiter Joel was great. Attentive, informative, and humorous. On top of things and made our night a very memorable one. Dont get to AC often, but I will definitely go to Cuba Libre, whether I stay ay the Trop or not."

  • "Was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was and the portions were tremendous. This will be my new go-to place at Trop (esp. since Carmines has gone downhill). Can't wait to go back and try other dishes!"

  • "A party of 4 for restaurant week at Cuba Libre. The menu offered was terrific and quite ample. Preparation was very good, but more importantly, the service was impeccable! Can't say enough about how attentive everyone was without being over the top. Eddie was our server and was not only informative but entertaining as well. We thoroughly enjoyed him. Would definitely go back."

  • "Went to Cuba libre during restaurant week. The amount of food you are given is well worth the price. Great opportunity to try dishes I wouldn't typically. The pompano was superb. Will definitely be back!"

  • "Enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere. The food was delicious, with plenty of choices from Caribbean/Central American and of course Cuban cuisine - plantains, just one example. Portions were ample. Fresh fish wonderful, and tapas-size desserts - we had the flan and tres leches - great ending to the meal. Only complaint is the coffee - not very good. Too weak and not fresh."

  • "My husband and I went for his birthday dinner. It was a bit loud and a bit dark but enjoyable. The food was decent, my dish was a bit salty. The sides were bland white rice and black beans. But if that is authentic than that's ok! It's the experience we were going for, having never eaten Cuban before. Dessert was delicious. What we enjoyed the most was that if you eat there and bring your receipt back after 11p the place has turned Into a night club and you get in free!"

  • "The food was awesome, service was great considering we had a 2-person party dining at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. Very attentive server, and the food was brought to us quickly. It was very loud, but vibrant. The only negative thing was that our table was sandwiched between other 2-person tables, both of which were very loud diners."

  • "I was staying at Tropicana Casino with a friend for one night and couldn't miss this place since it does have a beautiful antique car parked right outside the front entrance. I love Cuban food and consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of the culture; I feel pretty confident in reviewing this restaurant. Lets see if I can mention everything in 750 characters.. First off, the place looks very nice and is decorated wonderfully. They offer toasted bread with cinnamon mango butter which was good but basically tasted like cinnamon Eggos. The empanada appetizer was tasty but should have been cooked just a little longer. My vaca frita, which should be a bit dry, had too much sauce but tasted okay. Overall a decent find, but not really authentic."

  • "Food was great, everyone in our party was very pleased with the meal. For a "Rum bar" the drinks were very disappointing. One member of our party complained how weak the drink was and the waiter brought a half shot to add to the drink. I needed to order a double just to taste the rum in the drink, ( rum and coke). Recommendation... Go for the food and drink wine or beer!"

  • "The food and service at Cuba Libre were great. It's a fun place to try creative dishes in a beautiful venue. The only drawback is the noise level. It is difficult to talk to your dining partners without yelling across the table."

  • "We didn't want starters, however, we didn't have to wait long at all for our main meals. Infact, we finished in 30-40 minutes! The rum flights were a great and the food was really tasty. The indoor area at TheQuarter is great for access to shops and the casino. In an otherwise slightly rundown AC, this area was not. To prolong our meal, we had more drinks after the meal. Mojitos we're disappointing. Probably pre-mixed and not enough mint. Great surroundings, slightly dark where we sat, so couldn't see the food, which tasted great, so I'm sure it looked great too."

  • "Everything was great starting with the red sangria, the guacamole, the ropa vieja and the kids plantain crusted chicken tenders. Service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive to every detail. Food came out quickly and cooked as ordered. It is one of my favorite places in Atlantic City. Highly recommend it."

  • "When we arrived at Cuba Libre we were excited right away with the scenery it reminded us of Puerto Rico with palm trees and coblestone entrance. After checking out coats we were seated and right away we were attended to we began by ordering the potato balls and arepa filled with ropa veja(shreddedd steak)we were amazed by the great latin flavors from our appetizers the main course was also amazing. If looking for great food and you want to visit carribean without getting on plain we highly recommend Cuba Libre."

  • "We ate at AC Cuba Libre a year ago - the food was great and we had a quiet table upstairs. Last weekend our visit was just the opposite. We were seated in a room upstairs with about 8 other "tables for 2" that were way too close together. We asked for a different table but were told no. The server was nice but very over worked. Our food was rushed and not good. I had mango shrimp for my entree - shrimp was cold, no sign of any mango flavor and the large amount of artichoke was not edible. Mojitas were delicious but seriously filled with ice so we were done in 2 sips. Very disappointed and won't be back."
