  • "The food is soo delicious and authentic. I highly recommend their ropa vieja and the Tres leches cake. Also, their red sangria is very tasty! Great for date night and groups."

  • "Cuba de Ayer is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. They have the best mojitos and best Cuban food I have had. The waiters and waitresses are terrific and the expansion made it even better!"

  • "My buddy recommended this place to me for some good, authentic Cuban cuisine; his cousin owns the restaurant. Everything was delicious and enjoyable. From the house made sangria and Mojitos, to the entrees we ordered. Our only stickler was that the appetizer we ordered (Croquettas) was rather small and maybe more suitable for one person rather than four. I was also under the impression these were homemade, instead of taken out of the freezer and heated up out of a Goya container. We were also disappointed that we didn't get our food until after 45 minutes of ordering our entree. We were pretty hungry by the time we got our food (which was still delicious) but we would have preferred to not of waited."

  • "We came to have lunch after putting flowers on our parents graves. It is a family tradition to get together yearly for this event. Our family is from Santiago de Cuba and the congri, Arroz con Pollo, Palomilla Steak, and Boliche are reminiscent of my grandmothers. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to eat there three times within the last 6 weeks and have been impressed by consistently good food and service. Alex has been our waiter each time. So maybe the good service is Alex. Thanks Hope too be there soon again."

  • "The changes in the decor were great Food continues to be outstanding. Service was not as good as it was really hard to get the waitress to come back once she took our order"

  • "Went here with a group for a birthday celebration. The place was hopping and I'm glad we had a reservation because we were seated right away. The service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable. The appetizers were good but the entrees were better. The pulled pork and white sangria were my favorites."

  • "Found this place about two years ago, great food but small. But recently they have expanded and remodeled now the surroundings match the quality of their food. Parking can be a bit tight but worth the effort. If you like Cuban food you can't go wrong here."

  • "We have been to Cuba de Ayer, many times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. It is standard Cuban fare with good mojitos and margaritas. It was once a very small restaurant but it has been recently expanded, making the whole dining experience more comfortable. So if you're looking for fried plantains, Ropa Viejo, Chuletas de Puerco and Tres Leches cake for dessert, this is the place for you. Enjoy!"

  • "Enjoyed the evening for Valentine's Day after due to unavailability on the day of. Saturday was far less crowded, food was excellent and we were personally welcomed by the owner of the restaurant. Great seeing you Jessica. • "I made reservations the night before Valentine's day online and it was very easy to do. When I got to the restaurant, there weren't too many people so I really didn't need to make a reservation. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. I only wished that our waitress paid a little more attention to us. I was running low on water and she never came by to check on us. The only time I saw her was when she took our order and when she gave us our check. Besides the service, the experience was amazing."

  • "I've been bringing my family here for years since my wife found them. Food is great, staff is great and the new expansion make's it even more comfy. I'm no expert on Cuban food, but after summer as a teen in Coconut Grove I know what I like. I never leave without a Cuban sandwich to take home for later. Cuba de Ayer is a winner!"

  • "Cuba de Ayer is easy to miss if you don't know where to look, but it is worth the effort to find. We ate there on New Year's Eve - Myself, my husband, my mother, and my 20-year-old daughter. We got the Vaca Frita and the fried pork morsels (don't remember what they are called in Spanish). with the Croquettas Jamon for an appetizer and some red wine sangria. Everything was DELICIOUS! As expected, they were very crowded and somewhat noisy (it was NYE, after all), and it took the food awhile to arrive. But, it was well worth the wait! Be sure to stay for dessert! Both the Tres Leches cake and the flan were delicious!"
