  • "Sadly for the second time I've been disappointed at Crush. The service was horrible and it wasn't very busy. I was there for a weekday lunch and the entire meal took 2 hours which as anyone who works days knows that is not acceptable and we told the waitress. Besides the service, the appetizers were not great, the cold cucumber soup was revolting and we couldn't even pretend to eat it. The mussels were smaller than a dime and sad to see served. For mains, the bison was over cooked and dried The fish cakes were two tiny cakes doused in oil and the salad had all the bits you don't eat like lettuce butts. The poppy seed cake dessert was covered with loads of whipped cream which was warm because it was waiting too long to get to us."

  • "My fiancé and I have booked our wedding here and wanted to visit for dinner to ensure our decision was right. The service was impeccable from the start. We were at a great corner table. Really excellent attention to detail. EXTENSIVE wine list. Started with the mushrooms on toast. Note: I do not like mushrooms and I loved this. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the pork chop entree, my fiancé had the prime rib. These were PERFECTLY cooked. I've never enjoyed a pork chop that wasn't my mother's but this was flawless. Prime rib was delicious and far-surpassed my expectations of steak in a non-steakhouse. Desserts were excellent. Only questionable item was the sarsaparilla dessert. Strange mix of flavours! Overall, GREAT experience."

  • "Bought on Travelzoo not even worth it 50% off. Wait staff is nice but sooo slow and for a "wine bar" don't know anything about wine. Food is nicely presented but just doesn't taste right. Duck was small had some pancake underneath a slaw that was mush by the time I went to eat it, and my wife's Ribeye was cold and over cooked. No point in complaining because no one was around untill you were done to ask for the bill. Waste of a night out and babysitter very disappointed with Crush which is a shame because I've been looking forward to going for a while."

  • "Great wine list... very knowledgeable staff. Jewel and Caitlin (I believe)... both excellent. Personally I recommend sitting at the front (bar or tables by the window) so you can enjoy the bar menu and sip flights. The back is strictly the full menu, which I personally find overpriced, not that new/exciting... Although I will admit almost all the food here tastes amazing!"

  • "This place is definitely stacked with wine...hence the name of the place. The food however, at least what i ordered, left something to be desired. I ordered lamb...the portion seemed smallish, was fatty, and it seemed excessively salty, to the point I did not enjoy it. The fact it was paired with beans did not leave me feeling overly inspired. Dessert was a rhubarb tart, which was tasty, but nothing mind blowing, but yes, good. The wine was delicious of course, but because I go to a restaurant for food, not booze, I doubt I'd return. Too bad too."

  • "We really enjoyed the wine sliders (rather than choosing one drink you are able to try 3 varieties in smaller doses.) The atmosphere and service was great and we enjoyed a really romantic and tasty meal. I was hoping to see more pasta options on the menu (their lunch menu has a variety of pastas while their dinner menu revolves primarily around meat options). The downside was only the cost. We regularly dine out at high quality restaurants and found this one to be quite expensive for what you get. For 2-people, we are used to paying over $100.00 for a dinner with drinks but found this restaurant to be closer to the $200.00 mark."

  • "We were there early and maybe didn't need the reservation, but the service was amazing, and the incredible food came out so quickly that we have no regrets. Love that the menu items are paired with wine for ease of ordering and also of course that the wine that comes ends up being so delicious and bang on. We split a bunch of appetizers and everything was incredible - the highlight for me was the short rib ravioli. This was our second time here in a month, and we will definitely be returning."

  • "Crush is always a good spot for a nice dinner. The atmosphere was great - not too loud and not too subdued. The menu will make you go hmmm in a good way. we were 4 and we ordered the beet salad and the mozzarella salad. dressing was delicate and complemented the ingredients. the striploin, ribeye and scalops were awesome judging by the orgasmic oohs and aahs. desert was a success. And the best thing was the waitress. I hate myself for forgetting her name. she was awesome! +1 Crush"

  • "Another fantastic time. Professionally prompt, polite and attentive serving staff. The host is a welcome treat. Food is appealing to the eyes and taste-buds. Flights of wine are a steal and those by the glass reasonable. Notable dishes were the Bone Marrow (app) and Scallop with Quinoa (main). Time and money definitely well spent."

In terms scale its nicely placed between over priced posh and run of the mill trying too hard types. range of food for all palettes, good service and ambiance. Touch on the pricey side therefore not a every weekend place (at least for me) but perfect special occasion dinner. No question will go there again."

  • "We chose this restaurant as it was recommended as one of Torontos top 5 valentines day destinations. Our reservation was at 8:45 but we arrived 15min late - no problem. We ordered a few drinks which took about 30min to come as we were told "the bar tender just got bogged down and out drinks were pushed to the back." Okay great. We then proceeded to order a dozen oysters only to find out they were OUT of oysters. On valentines day... Really? One of the busiest nights of the year and they were out of oysters!"

  • "First Impressions - when you arrive at the restaurant the entry is a landing. There is no clear signage to indicate whether to go up (restaurant) or down (private dining space). The hostess was warm and welcoming. Service: after being seated I was ignored for between 5 and 10 minutes in spite of there being only two other tables and ample staff. A friendly waitress finally came over and apologized. Another waiter was officially assigned to my table but was too "busy" to come over. The substitute waitress became my server at some point. Food: Okay I know it is Winterlicious but the servings were pitifully small. Edible not wow. Odd combinations and very small portions."

The portions could have been a wee bit bigger, but overall we enjoyed ourselves. We we not on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet...only about four tables we filled."

The lady that called me to confirm my reservation was very polite and friendly, as well as the server that served us. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the host that greeted us. He was a little dry and not very friendly. Other than that, everything else was perfect."

  • "Went for a date night here with my husband. Food was great but took way too long to come out. We were seated at 830 and didnt get our appetizers until 915 and dinners until 10. Server was nice, but had to get up to find her on 3 occasions because she was not readily available and did not come to ask us how we were doing. Good wine, but would have appreciated more recommendations as the list is extensive. LIked how it was not too crowded and tables were spaced out a bit."

  • "We waited for 30min to get a bottle of wine. My favourite wine was on the menu but not available. We asked for something comparable. He couldn't find his first suggestion. We finally gave him one parameter. Cab sav around the same price point. Server forgot the side that we were going to share. We had to ask for our-we were still the only table.The comparable wine was $35 more than our ask. Last time I was at Crush was 2 years ago and it was packed at lunch. It's gone waaaay downhill. Oh, and the basement level where the bathrooms are situated reek. I mentioned it to our server. He really didn't care. I can't see Crush surviving with this approach to service, food, ambiance."

  • "All appetizers and entrees were presented beautifully and tasted excellent- unanimous for all three diners . Waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and wine. There was a slight delay in taking our initial order for wine and the floor manager noticed this and was about to intervene when our waitress came. I really appreciate an attentive floor manager that sees the big picture of the dining room and is always scoping the room to make sure customers are being taken care of and are being served in a timely manner and that dining flow is perfect. Timing is a key component of a great dining experience and this restaurant really pays attention to that."

  • "We were a party of 7 and everyone enjoyed their food, and commented that there were several other dishes that they could have chosen. Portion size was fine (ie not huge, hooray!). The duck confit was very good, and the frites and brussels for the table also excellent. The room is cool looking, spare and all hard surfaces, but the noise level was OK for conversation and the very nice jazz in the background added to the ambience. The service was good, but not standout. I would definitely go back"

  • "A great spot for our anniversary before the theatre! Ribeye steak was great, done to perfection and very tasty with the cauliflower and mushrooms. Started with the beet salad and the ravioli. Excellent! Chef Trista came by to see if everything was to our liking. Nice touch!"
