  • "Every Monday night is " meatball Monday"!!!! $2 meatballs that are delicious and filling! Get a meatball or 2 with a yummy Caesar salad and you will be in heaven. There are comfy couches to lounge on and the service is always attentive. Crush is my new favorite!"

  • "I made reservation for 4 for the birthday dinner for my husband. I mentioned on open table that it was a birthday. The service was outstanding, very nice selection of food and all our questions on sustainability of types of fish were answered. The food was very good. We ordered a selection of 4 appetizers and all four of us chose different entrees. This way we had a chance to try a variety of foods and everything was good. My husband received a very nice birthday dessert on the house as well, which was a very nice touch. The owner was there and stopped by our table at the end of the dinner and asked how we liked it. It was a caring and nice conversation. We will be back."

Unfortunate thing was many of the food choices were not available by the time we were there (8:15pm reservation), so I had to change from my first preference. Our waiter was very good to try and accommodate us. Ahi appetizer and beet salad were very good."

  • "Greatly enjoyed our dinner at Crush. The Chilean sea bass and Fitlet Mignon were cooked to perfection, perhaps a bit heavy on sauce but outstanding flavor. Creme Brulee was the best of the best. Wine pours were exceptional! Only drawback is the setup in the restaurant is very noisy."

  • "The food is one note...the tasty but average tomato based sauce is used for all dishes. Had the chicken parmesian...sorry...overcooked/rubbery. The meatball appetizer was the best. 30% off on wines was a hit...Tuesdays. Now, about the smell in the restaurant: If you have ever been to Italy then you would know that even though they use some garlic in their food, you never really smell it very strongly. THIS PLACE SMELLS LIKE THEY PUT ROASTED GARLIC ON EVERY SEAT AND TABLE IN THE PLACE. Makes the bouquet of even the best wines non-exisistent. So...If you really like the roasted garlic smell for days after you've dined...then this is really your place (some people really love that smell...personally, I burned my clothes later that evening)."

  • "Love the ambience of this place. The $35 restaurant week menu had many favorites - such as meatball appetizer - and the Caesar salad and eggplant parm were excellent. But - my husbands entree of the mac and cheese " with sausage" was disappointing - smallish portion, not flavorful, and tiny tiny crumbles of sausage barely worth mentioning. Much better Mac and cheese elsewhere. Only 2 choices for dessert but they were both good. Generous wine pours, and they offered 30% off bottles. Very attentive service, perhaps because et 6:00 on a Sunday weren't busy."

  • "Food was very good and we were pleased. The wine discount/special was also very good. Our hesitation with the review is with the service. We didn't feel that the service was up to par at times. At the beginning it was very slow until my wife said something because the drink wasn't done right and we kept waiting for another replacement drink that never came."

  • "First time at Crush. Food was delicious across the board. A filet, chicken piccata, mama's meatballs, sea bass, gnocchi with ragu.,, all spectacular. A decent wine list but a Lucile top heavy on the mid and high prices wines, but a nice eclectic collection. Service was a little slow at the beginning bug the pacing on courses was better. The restaurant was pretty noisy and it was at times hard to carry on a conversation. Overall a great night out and we'd definitely go back and would recommend it to friends."

  • "My husband and I went there to take advantage of their Happy Hour only to discover that it was very limited especially in the wine and beer offerings. I had hoped to get a glass of chardonnay at the happy hour price and was told I'd have to settle for a glass of Pinot Grigio which I didn't. My husband had the same experience in the beer offerings. However, the appetizers were delicious and well presented. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant . We ate in the bar area which was nice. Our sever was new, but provided good service. All in all quite a nice night out. Though we'd certainly like to find a nice restaurant where we can enjoy Happy hour for less than $100."

  • "We brought two out of town guests to the restaurant. I was so embarrassed. The waiter forgot my appetizer and brought it much later. Then, he forgot my main course altogether. I ordered a salad instead - something quick. Then, he completely forgot the chocolate dessert we had ordered. When we finally got his attention, he apologized and brought us an entirely different dessert. The food was good. But the service (which is always slow) was the worst I have ever had in any restaurant."

If something was done about the acoustics I would enjoy it more. Dinner is a social event and when I go out to dinner I like to talk with the people I'm with, without having to shout."

  • "Good local restaurant in Solana Beach, it was our first time there, two couples, had two lamb dishes, one Salmon and one scrimp dish. My Salmon dish was very good, large piece prepared well. The menu is pretty simple and limited but offers an adequate number of meat and sea food dishes. The prices were average to a little above and the ambiance was great. The service was a little slow but the restaurant was pretty crowded, Saturday night, 7 pm. The noise level was a little high but acceptable. We would probably go there again if it were closer but there are a number of similar restaurants nearer to our house which are as good or better."

  • "Had heard that Crush was a happening spot. Got there on a Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. Only a few diners. A great band was playing. By the time we got done with dinner, there were a handful of people in the bar. Disappointing that no one was there. Food was pretty good as was the dinner service. Just needs to have a larger crowd."

  • "The idea of having spaghetti and meatballs at an Italian restaurant may sound passé, but given the exquisite sauce, seasoning in the meatballs, and some sort of cream cheese (?) in parts of the sauce made it a most memorable meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the desserts were good, too. I ride my bike past this place a couple times a week and never knew it was there, but WOW...glad we found it."
